Torpedo: A Second Chance Romance by Joanna Blake (37)

Gabe

How long will it take you to get here from Paris for your best friend’s wedding?”

I was on the balcony of our new hotel suite, whispering on my phone. I didn’t think Tabby could hear me, but who could say?

The woman had almost caught me sneaking around with her phone after we’d checked in. I had got what I needed though. The three phone numbers that mattered.

We were getting married dammit. And I wanted her friends there. She deserved everything to be perfect.

Or as perfect as I could make it!

Jackie laughed.

“Please tell me this is Gabe Jackson.”

I grinned and stood up straight. Tabby must have told her about me after all. I strutted back and forth with my cane, feeling pleased with myself.

“You approve then?”

“It was you or George Clooney for her. No one else would do.”

“George Clooney? The actor?”

I scowled, wondering if I had competition.

“Relax Gabe, he’s already married.”

I felt the tension go out of my shoulders.

“Oh. So, how soon can you get here? I want everything to be perfect.”

“Where is this wedding happening?”

I shrugged.

“I haven’t gotten that far yet. Some place warm?”

I glanced into the hotel room to make sure Tabby was still in the bath. I saw the cat, Petunia. She was sitting on the table, daintily cleaning her paws.

I’d had to pay extra to get the damn cat checked in. But Tabby loved the thing. Or her Gran had, so we were keeping it.

I kind of liked the scruffy little thing to be honest.

“Someplace we can bring a cat? Oh and we have all of Tabitha’s earthly possessions in a van too.”

“Hmmm, so someplace romantic, not a plane ride that we can all get to within a couple of days…”

“That sounds about right.”

“I know the perfect place…”

Ten minutes later we had a plan. Jackie was making inquiries and cc’ing my mom on the emails. She’d make sure Dennis and Maryann made it too.

I’d take care of getting Tabby there, even if I had to tie her up. I was still half afraid she’d remember what a jackass I’d been and take off on me again.

“What are you up to?”

Tabitha leaned against the doorway in a fluffy hotel robe. Her hair was damp and curling at the ends. She looked beautiful with her wet hair and freshly scrubbed skin. I realized I’d never seen her fresh out of the shower.

I liked it. I liked it a lot.

I grinned and slid my phone into my pocket.

“Goofing off.”

She smiled at me shyly. Little did she know I was planning our life together. I even thought I might have some ideas about where to settle down.

Start a family.

Speaking of which…

I pulled her against me and tugged at the belt of her robe.

“Gabe! I thought you said you were hungry!”

I shook my head and carried her to the bed.

“I thought I’d skip room service and go right for dessert.”

She giggled and slipped her arms around my neck.

“Okay.”

I lowered her to the bed. I should probably be using my cane, but the rush of having her in my arms kept making me forget. I felt strong, if a little sore, at the end of the long day of driving.

Her lush curves peeked out from the edges of her robe. I licked my lips and opened the robe so I could look my fill at her body. She was so beautiful, and it wasn’t just her looks.

She was kind, and real, and strong.

Most of all, she was mine.

I gripped her ankles and spread them wide. Then I kissed the inside of each ankle. Then her calves. She shimmied a little as I got to her knees.

“Hold still young lady!”

Her giggle turned into a squeak as I nipped her inner thigh. I traced the long line of her leg with my tongue, coming almost to the sweet, pouty lips above.

“Hmmm… you look so tasty…”

Her hips wiggled and I grinned, deciding to tease her a little more. I licked and kissed her from her knee to the top of her thighs a couple times again.

“Gabe!”

“Hmm… what? I’m having my dessert. Your leg is very tasty.”

“But-“

“But what?” I looked up at her with an innocent look on my face. “Did you want me to do something else?”

She bit her lip, clearly feeling shy. Well, I wanted to hear it. I needed to know she wanted me as bad as I wanted her.

“No but…”

“What is it sweetheart?”

“Can you do it… a little bit higher?”

I laughed and buried my head in my hands. She was so cute and proper. I couldn’t imagine a more polite way to ask someone to eat their pussy.

I couldn’t stop my shoulders from shaking but I managed to nod.

“Yes, sweetheart. I can do it a little bit higher.”
