Chapter Twenty-Eight

Beau took the lead, guiding Griffin upstairs. The omega came willingly, eagerly even. They stepped through the door into their rooms and shut it behind them. Some of the tension in him eased then. They were in familiar territory.

Griffin slid the bolt across, locking them in, before leaning back against the door. “What now?”

Beau wasn’t sure what the next step was. He wanted and needed Griffin but the feelings coursing through his body were new and strange.

“I… I don’t…”

“Why don’t we go lie down for a while?”

Beau nodded. That sounded good. He’d have Griffin close, he could hold him, touch him.

Griffin caught his hands and led him toward the bedroom. He kicked off his shoes just inside the door. Beau wasn’t wearing shoes, he rarely bothered with them. Following Griffin into their bed, both of them shedding their clothes as they walked, he found himself lying side by side with his omega. It was better but it wasn’t enough. Rolling onto his side, he reached for him, turning him as he tugged him across the mattress. He spooned around Griffin, pressing close, tucking his knees into the back of the omega’s, wrapping his arms around him and burying his nose against his neck before he gave a sigh of contentment.

“Better?” Griffin murmured.

“Mine,” he rumbled, rubbing his hand in soothing circles across Griffin’s stomach. He felt the urge to sleep rise, and he lifted his head to do a quick check of his surroundings. There was nothing, no danger, no sounds. It was safe.

“Beau?” Griffin’s soft voice teased its way through his mind as he drifted off. “Things might feel different when you wake up. Stronger, more intense. But don’t worry, I’m right here with you. I’m ready for you.”

He didn’t understand what Griffin was trying to say, but he figured it didn’t matter all that much. As long as his omega was there, it would all be okay.

Beau woke with his bear roaring beneath his skin. His whole body felt like an engine running too hot. The only consolation was that Griffin was pressed to his chest. He leaned in, burying his nose in Griffin’s hair and inhaling deeply.

“Hey, Beau. How do you feel?”

“I… I need…”

There was an unmistakable ache between his legs, and he knew without looking that he was hard.

“I know what you need,” the omega told him, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “That’s why I’m here.”

Beau caught his chin and pulled him into another kiss, nudging Griffin’s lips apart. They both knew what he needed, and Griffin was there, ready and willing to give it to him.

“Are you sure?” he asked, pulling away. “Is it safe?”

Griffin pulled him back, framing his face with his hands.

“I’m sure,” he said, pressing another kiss to Beau’s lips. “It’ll be more than safe, it’ll be amazing.”

“What do we do?”

“This is your rut,” Griffin told him. “Follow your body’s instincts, let it guide you.”

He didn’t need to be told twice, wrapping his arms around the omega and rolling him onto his back on the bed. They shared another kiss before Beau pulled away, sitting up and staring down at the absolute perfection of Griffin’s body.

“Would you like me on my stomach?” Griffin offered, shimmying his hips a little, a smile on his face.

“No,” Beau said hoarsely. “I need to see you, see your eyes. I want to be sure.”

Griffin’s lips quirked upward, the omega genuinely pleased at his words. He reached over to the bedside locker, where a small bottle sat.

“You’ll need this. I’m not in heat so this will help things along. I can do it if you like.”

But Beau wanted to be the one to take care of Griffin. He had to learn, even as his body, in its impatience, urged him to take what he needed.

Griffin lay back, looking the picture of relaxed as he hooked his arms around his legs, drawing them up and back, giving Beau a breathtaking view of his body.

He took his time preparing Griffin, rewarded with the omega’s quiet moans, seeing a tremor run through his body as he fought to stay still.

“It feels good?” Beau asked.

His answer was another vocal moan before Griffin’s hand wrapped around his arm. “I’m ready for you.”

And Beau was more than ready for this. Kneeling between Griffin’s spread legs, he guided himself into the omega, taking his time, watching how Griffin’s eyes widened, his breaths coming in pants.

At first, he wasn’t sure what to do with his body, where to put his hands, when to move. Griffin helped by tugging him forward and wrapping his legs around Beau’s waist. It was only natural to brace his arms either side of the omega, leaning in so they were eye to eye. Beau pulled out part way, hearing Griffin’s sharp intake of breath. That was nothing compared to the gasp of pleasure that escaped the omega when he thrust back inside. The next time, he pulled out almost all the way, pushing back inside with a snap of his hips. It sent a spark of pleasure through him, and he chased it, leaning close to Griffin’s neck and inhaling the omega’s scent. He fell into a rhythm as Griffin gasped beneath him, his hands roaming up and down the skin of Beau’s back.

“Kiss me,” Griffin demanded.

Beau obeyed, their skin heated where it touched. The spark of pleasure inside him was building to something. Below him, Griffin pressed a hand between his legs to stroke himself. Beau gently nudged his hand away, wrapping his own hand around the omega and stroking in time with his thrusts. Griffin was his to take care of.

“Beau, I’m close,” the omega warned.

Close? Close to… oh.

It spurred him on, his thrusts getting faster, his control loosening.

“Yes, Beau,” Griffin cried out. “Yes.

The omega called out in ecstasy, his body pulling tight to Beau’s. It was enough to drag Beau over the edge too, chasing his release in the warmth of the omega’s body. Pleasure crashed over him, and he sank into Griffin’s arms, rolling them both over to lie on their sides.

He cupped Griffin’s cheek, urging the omega to look at him.

“Was that okay? Are you okay?”

Griffin’s reply was a lazy grin. “That was fantastic. So good. I can tell you haven’t jumped down the rabbit hole yet though.”

Beau frowned at the words. “I don’t understand.”

“Your rut hasn’t peaked just yet.”

“How could you tell?”

Griffin wrapped a hand around the back of Beau’s head, drawing him in for a kiss. “You didn’t quite manage to lose yourself, did you? I could feel you holding onto your control.”

“It was good,” Beau replied. “It felt good.” Better than good, pretty amazing. But already his body was waking up again.

“Yeah, it was,” Griffin reassured, pressing another kiss to his lips. They broke apart a minute later, both breathing hard. “And it’ll get even better from here.”

Beau wasn’t sure what better meant, what that looked like. He was happy to lie there, Griffin in his arms, their scents intermingled, their bodies warm.

Eventually, Griffin coaxed him up and into the bathroom.

“I think a shower to cool off,” the omega suggested.

Beau went willingly, his hands exploring Griffin’s body, finding ticklish spots, scars, and ways to make the omega blush.

He was growing hard again by the time they stepped out. Griffin noticed, biting his lip.

“I don’t think I’m quite ready for round two,” he said by way of apology.

Beau was ready to tell him it was fine, that he could handle it, when he found himself backed against the bathroom wall, Griffin folding gracefully to his knees. He looked up at Beau, and Beau’s breath caught in his throat. The omega was so beautiful. His eyes, his mouth, the way his hands settled on Beau’s hips.

“Just relax,” Griffin murmured, looking up at him through thick eyelashes. “And let me take care of you.”

Beau wasn’t sure what Griffin meant until the alpha leaned in and kissed him. But not somewhere he’d been kissed before. He pressed back against the wall, doing his best not to thrust his hips as the wet heat of Griffin’s mouth swallowed him down.

Throwing his head back, he clenched his hands tightly as heat and pleasure built low in his belly. Griffin was licking and sucking like he was an ice lolly, and he had the irrational urge to ask the omega his favorite flavor.

Griffin did something sinful with his tongue, and Beau’s hips pushed forward of their own accord, seeking more. The omega obliged, taking him deeper, gripping him tighter and moving with him when he thrust again.

Beau reached down, letting his fingers tangle in Griffin’s dark hair, using the tactile sensation to ground himself. It worked for only a moment before the omega sucked hard and Beau saw stars, his vision going bright white before patches of color returned.

When he came back to his senses, he was gripping the wall, breathing hard, with a grinning omega still kneeling at his feet, wiping a hand across his mouth.
