Selena Lane by Jessica Carter (2)

Chapter Two

The security to Green Aces is ridiculous. First, the security guards outside the gate check the vehicle inside and out. Second, they ask my name to see if it’s on the guest list. Thankfully, it was. Third, the key card entrance. I tip the driver more than normal due to all the security we went through just to get here.

My palms begin to sweat as I walk to his front door. I’m still wearing the same dress, despite Anna trying to force me into something more whorish.

“I can’t do this,” I whisper to myself. As I turn to walk away the front door opens. My mouth goes dry at the sight of him. His hair is wet and his naked chest is on display, so he must have just gotten out of the shower. For heaven sakes, it looks like his chest has been sculpted by God himself. The gym shorts hang dangerously low on his waist, giving me a good look at his v-line.

“Please come in.” He moves to the side allowing me in. “You weren’t going to leave, were you?” He closes the door, locking it.

“The thought crossed my mind. Once or twice.” I look around. His choice of decor is just like five years ago. Simple. Nothing over the top or extravagant. My home screams the total opposite.

“Well, I am glad you decided to stay.” He takes my hand. “Shall we?”

I nod.

“No nodding tonight. It’s either yes or no.” He looks at me and I stare into his deep blue orbs. They pull me towards him and I lose myself within them, just like old times. One night couldn’t and wouldn’t hurt either one of us. We will be back to our normal lives by sunrise.

“Yes,” I whisper.

He winks at me and leads me upstairs.

“Are you nervous?” he asks, closing the bedroom door behind us. There are candles lit around the room. It is clear he’s trying to make this a night to remember. “Selena?”

“Hmm?”

“I asked if you are nervous.” He releases my hand as I shake my head. Loosening his towel, my eyes widen: he has a massive cock. I place my hand on the doorknob, catching my balance. He chuckles. “Too big?”

“N–no. I’ve seen bigger.” My first mistake of the night. Caleb grabs my wrist, pulling me to the bed. I quickly kick off my shoes before I trip and bust my face open.

“Selena, when you’re in my company, don’t speak of other men. Whether as a joke or not.” He cups my pussy and I let out a whimper. “This is mine,” he growls, nipping at my neck. “Say it.”

“I won’t speak of ano—”

“No, tell me this pussy is mine.” He slips a finger in between my folds. Shit!

“This…this pussy is yours, Caleb.” I moan as he massages my clit. “Oh, Caleb. Yessssss!” His fingers are working magic. I’ve never been with a man and came instantly. Caleb Hemsworth was starting to be at the top of my sex list. It’s just for one night, I remind myself.

“That was quick.” He looks down at me. “Your body responds very well to me. I’m going to have fun with you tonight.” He brings his drenched fingers to his mouth and sucks his fingers dry. This new Caleb I was starting to like. “Strip for me.” He takes a step back and watches as I slowly pull down the straps of my dress. I don’t go too fast because I don’t want to seem too eager. But taking the slow route is killing me.

“Fuck, you look beautiful.” He reaches for me once I’m standing before him, nude. He pushes me back gently until I fall on top of the bed. “Five years is too long.” He hovers over me. His bright blue orbs gazing into my brown ones. My heart skips a beat. Just like old times. Slowly his fingertips trace my side, and he places butterfly kisses across my jawline. “I’ve missed you so much.” His lips meet mine with a slow, heart-tugging kiss. He finally pulls back looking into my eyes.

“Caaaaaleb!” a woman yells out, from somewhere downstairs, I assume.

I watch as he jumps up, gathering my things. He mumbles some profanity under his breath. What the hell is happening? “Selena, put your clothes on.”

“Who is that?” I eye him, refusing to get dressed until he starts talking. He turns to look at me apologetically. I shake my head and start dressing. I knew someone like Caleb wouldn’t be single. He’s a great catch and any woman with the intention of settling down would see that. “Do you have a back door I can use?” I keep my voice steady, not showing any emotion. Emotions are a sign of weakness, and that isn’t something I want to portray right now.

“Selena, she isn’t—”

“I don’t care…honestly. This was a horrible mistake. I knew it, so did you, and yet here we are. It was nice seeing you again. Hold her off long enough so I can slip out the front door.” I pick my shoes up.

“Caaaaaleb, sweetheart, where are you?” The woman’s voice seems to get louder. She must be making her way up the stairs. Caleb looks at me as if he wants to say something, but I just tell him to go. He slips on some boxer briefs and is out the door faster than I can blink. I can’t hear their exact words, but I knew he was walking her down the hall. I wait five minutes before I creep out and make a mad dash for the front door.

“Wait, can you repeat that, please? A girlfriend?” Anna raises an eyebrow at me; I nod my head. “I hope he loses his next game. The nerve of him!” She takes a deep breath and cocks her head to the side. “Are you sure it was a girlfriend or are you assuming this?”

“Does it really matter if it was a girlfriend or not? She had to get through his ridiculous ass security. That tells me enough.” I relax into my chair, waiting to take off. I didn’t want to stay another second in Kansas City. So, here we are on a private jet at midnight. I told my family an important audition came up and I had to head back. My parents weren’t too happy but understood. I didn’t like lying to them, but this wasn’t something I wanted the world to know about.

“You should have stuck around to find out. It could have been his mother or sister. He probably has a female publicist or agent and they randomly stopped by. What are you going to do if he reaches out to you?”

“Nothing, Anna. What’s done is done. Caleb and I don’t ever have to see each other again. We did it for five years; we can do it for ten more.” I rub my temples. “Can we not talk about him anymore? I’m getting a headache.”

“Sure. Since we came home three days early, do you want to stay in or…”

“Stay in. My next call time isn’t for another four days. I’m going to need all the sleep I can get. Starting now.”

“M’kay.”

The next few weeks in LA, everything went back to normal. I was on and off set working…keeping busy. Anything sports related was a no topic around me. Anna tries her hardest to keep Caleb’s name away from me, but she can’t help it. Just last week she showed me a picture of him having lunch with a woman in Kansas City. The tabloids have labeled them the new “It Couple of 2016.” They’ve been seeing each other on and off for about three years now. They reached out to him for a comment and he said they are only friends this time around. I am pretty sure that had to be the woman at his house that night.

“Knock knock.” Andre sticks his head into my dressing room. “You received some flowers.” That’s new. I haven’t received anything on set since I started shooting.

“I think you got the wrong room.” Anna gets up quickly, pushing at Andre. “Seriously, Dre, can’t you do anything right. I said—”

“Anna, have you been redirecting my fan mail again?” I sit up on the couch eying her. She rolls her bottom lip between her teeth, shaking her head. A lie. “Whose are you stopping this time? Justin? Ryan? Or better yet Nick?”

“Well…” She takes the flowers from Dre, closing the door behind her. “Don’t be mad at me, I was only doing what I thought was right. You were so upset—”

“Anna,” I drag out her name.

“It’s from Caleb. He has been sending you gifts over the past two weeks.”

“Anna!” I sit completely straight up. “Why did you—”

“Oh, come on, Sel. You were a complete bitch the first week back. Hell, you still are. People are scared to talk about sports around you. They have no clue why you hate it, but I’m pretty sure they’ll find out soon enough. Here take the damn flowers.” She puts the vase on the table in front of me.

“Now, Anna, don’t be like that. I’m sure I wasn’t that bad.”

“Puh-lease, Mike from catering was scared to bring you your lunch last week because his brother plays for the Dallas Cowboys.” She arches her eyebrow. “You were literally Ms. Trunchbull.”

“Really?” I huff.

“Yes, really,” she mimics me. Shithead. She points at the flowers. “What does the card say?”

“Nosy, aren’t we?”

“Shut up and read it, please. I have read the rest, and the one about him tasting you was by far the most interesting one.” She smirks, tossing her head back to laugh.

“What—get out, Anna.” I threw a pillow at her. “Out now!”

“Come on, Sel. I want to know what this one says. I have the right to know.”

“No, now leave before I tell Dre you want to fuck him.”

“You wouldn’t,” she gasps.

“Try me,” I bluff.

“Fine! But I will find out what that card says.”

“Uh huh, bye.”

I wait until she is out the room to open the card.

One more night. That is all I ask. Let me make it up to you. I’ll be in town tonight at Hotel Bel-Air. Please?

—C. Hemsworth

I twirl the card in my hand; I don’t know what to do. Part of me wants to go back to him, see what he is working with after five years. Yet, the other half is screaming to steer clear. Red flag! He has taken over my thoughts all day and night since I arrived back in LA. I would be lying if I say I’m not curious. He also might have a girlfriend, and that I would like to address. I don’t condone cheating, and I hate that he put me in such a position in the first place. I have roughly five hours—two scenes to shoot—before I make my decision.

However, I am already leaning towards dancing with danger tonight.
