Riggs (Hell's Lovers MC, #3) by Crimson Syn (15)

CHAPTER FOURTEEN
LUNA

He’s okay, though? I mean, it’s not life threatening?”

The doctor shook his head. “He’s going to be just fine. We managed to retrieve the bullet but he’s lost a lot of blood. He’ll need a lot of rest when he gets home.”

“When can I see him?”

“As soon as he wakes up I’ll let you go see him.”

Wolf came up to the doctor. “Thanks a lot Mac. We appreciate it.”

“I don’t know what’s going on here Wolf, but there’s going to be questions.”

“I’m sure you’ll know what to do if that happens?”

The doctor stared back at Wolf for a moment and then nodded slowly. “All debts are paid then?”

Wolf nodded. “You just saved a Hell’s Lover, all debts are paid.”

“Okay then.”

He turned to me and smiled. “I’ll let you see him in just a few minutes. For now, keep still and keep those ice packs on. You had a concussion and you had a heavy beating.”

He turned to Wolf. “I’ll say it was a robbery and when Riggs tried to help he got shot.”

Wolf nodded. “Sounds like a decent plan.”

The doctor stepped away from the circle of men. Seth lingered in the hallway, while Wolf and Grayson stood at wither side of me.

I watched as Wolf looked over at Seth. “Have you heard from Cain?”

“He’s made a few calls. They’re taking care of El Rubio as we speak. Nestor, on the other hand, he wants to know what you want to do with him?”

Wolf shrugged. “Take him somewhere no one can find him. If I ever see that motherfucker again I’ll put a bullet in his head myself.”

Seth nodded and walked away.

Grayson looked from me to Wolf. “When Tuco finds out about his brother…”

“We’ll worry about that when the time comes. For now, let’s take care of our own.”

Grayson bent down and stared at the floor. “Did we just open Pandora’s box?”

Wolf sighed. “That box was opened the night El Rubio waltzed into Ravenous. He deserved it, brother. It was either him or Riggs.”

Grayson nodded and stared at me. “Are you alright?”

“I just want to see him.”

“I’ll get you in.” He stood up and I watched his hunkered form walk away. He looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders.

I sat with Wolf, a heavy silence permeated from him.

“Are we in danger, Wolf?”

He shook his head. “No more than what we already were.”

“Do you think Tuco will come after us?”

“Don’t you worry about that. Instead, you focus on what matters most,” he nodded towards the other side of the hallway where the doctor stood with Grayson.

“You can see him now.”

RIGGS.”

He was propped up on the hospital bed and as soon as I was in arm’s reach he snaked a hand around my waist pressing me to him. “Fuck baby, it’s good to see you.”

He nuzzled my breasts and I ran a hand through his hair. “Does it hurt?”

“I’ll be fine, baby girl. We’re going to be just fine.”

He looked up at me and frowned. “I should have shot him when I had the chance.”

“I think Wolf’s taking care of him.” I looked down at my feet, “I know I’m not supposed to listen to your meetings, but I overheard him tell Seth he wanted him to disappear.”

I watched as Riggs’ eyebrows furrowed and his eyes became worried. “Baby girl?

“Yes, daddy.”

“What was he forcing you to sign?”

I played with his hair and smiled. “He wanted me to sign an insurance claim over to him.”

He scrunched his brow. “An insurance claim?”

“My parents left me money. A lot of money.”

He looked down at the floor and then hugged me to him once again.

“Aren’t you going to ask me how much?”

“I don’t give a shit! I’m just glad you’re okay,” He looked up at me then, all the love he had for me shone in his eyes and I fell a little more in love with him.

“I need you to promise me something.”

“Anything.”

“I need you to promise that you’ll always stay close until this thing dies. That you’ll do whatever I ask of you, no questions asked.”

I leaned down and grazed my lips along his. “I promise,” I whispered. He pressed his lips to mine, but the pain made me flinch and I looked down at my hands.

He lifted my chin and smiled. “You’re so beautiful, baby girl.”

I felt the trickle of a tear run down my numbed cheek. “You would say that.”

“I would, every fucking day of my life.” He scooted over and patted the side of the bed. “Now, come over here and keep me warm. Daddy needs his baby girl.”

I smiled and snuggled in next to him.

“Aren’t we a pair?” he whispered.

I smirked. “A perfect pair,” I whispered back and hugged him tightly.

He stroked my back and I smiled. “Riggs, I wanted to wait but…”

“But what, baby.”

I leaned back and looked at him. “I’m pregnant. You’re going to be a real daddy.”

He stared back at me, but didn’t say anything.

I stroked his cheek. “Did you hear me?”

He nodded. “When did you find out?”

“Yesterday, but the Dr. just confirmed it with a blood test.”

“Fuck baby girl, if I would have known…” he brushed his hair back, “I could fucking kill that mother fucker.”

“We’re okay, baby. His vitals are fine and I’m fine.”

He dragged a finger lightly across my bruised cheek. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here for you, baby. I promise you that will never happen again.”

I smiled and touched his cheek. “You’re my world now, Riggs. You and this baby.”

He hugged me tightly to him. “Baby girl, I think you’ve just made me the happiest man in the world.”

“I love you so much, Riggs.”

He squeezed me to him and then he asked me the dreaded question. The one that would make this all real for me. “Luna?”

“Yes, daddy.”

“Baby girl, you’re going to have to tell me your last name?”

My eyes widened and I looked up at him. I hesitated for a moment, but it was time. I needed this to be real for me, for us. “I…It’s Cordova.”

“Cordova?” He swept his hand through my hair. “I don’t think that suits you.”

“What? It was my father’s last name.”

He pressed my head to his chest. “I didn’t mean to offend you baby, but you belong to me now. The next time someone asks you what your last name is, you tell them it’s Riggs.”

I looked up at him in shock and felt a lump at my throat. “Riggs?”

A slow smile spread across his handsome face. “I’m asking you to marry me, baby girl. Be my girl forever?”

“Yes,” I breathed. “Yes!” I yelled happily and wrapped my arms around him as he held onto me tightly.
