Home Run: A Texas Heat Romance by Camilla Stevens (14)

Hey there Slugger, care to give a gal a ride?”

Carter looked at Jordan smiling into the passenger side window of his truck as he idled in the parking lot of her apartment building. He had actually driven the 180 or so miles up from Houston to see her. What in the world did that indicate?

He had spent the entire drive up letting the answer to that bounce around the back of his mind. Now, seeing her standing there, smiling up at him, he didn’t even have to ask himself why.

He whistled. “If I knew they grew ‘em like you here at UT Austin, I would have seriously reconsidered my academic choices. And wearing my favorite outfit to boot!”

Jordan looked down at the royal blue tank top she was wearing, then laughed as though she just realized she was wearing it.

“Well, isn’t this kismet? But speaking of academic choices, it’s a bit scandalous for me to be standin’ here leaning into the truck, conversatin’ with a former Aggie right smack in the middle of Longhorn territory,” she drawled, matching his vibe.

“Well, I guess you better hop on in and protect that virtue of yours.”

Jordan giggled and hopped in. Then she turned to him with a skeptical smile. “So you drove all the way up here just to see lil’ ole me? That certainly puts a lot of pressure on a gal.”

“Well, maybe a certain gal could make it up to a certain guy by letting him take her out.” He leaned in. “Besides, those dimples are worth the gas money alone.”

Jordan laughed, bringing out those dimples in all their glory.

Carter leaned in even closer.

Jordan leaned back, giving him a playful smile.

He just came in closer. “You gonna make me work this hard, even after I drove all day to see you?”

She rolled her eyes up to the side with a mischievous smile. “Well, I suppose I could

Carter brought his hand around and placed it on the back of her neck, pulling her in for a kiss before she could finish. After a tiny squeak of surprise, she melted into it.

It was good; nice and warm like a comforting meal after a long day of work. When she brought her arms around his neck, it caused a slow, but intense burn in him.

He pulled away and looked at her. “Mmm, yeah, definitely worth it.”

“I’m glad you came,” she said, her fingers making trails at the base of his neck, which was turning that burn inside him into a bonfire. “So what’s the plan?”

“Well, this is your town. I guess I have to let you pick the place again.”

“Oh no,” she laughed. “I learned my lesson last time. No restaurants.”

“We could grab a drink at a bar?”

“Do you have any idea what lushes law students are? We’d be outted for sure. Ixnay on that, especially anything on 6th Street.”

Carter had no idea what the reference to the street had to do with anything, but he did know she was gradually eliminating any obvious choice for a typical date. “Movie?”

“Hmm,” she said looking up thoughtfully. “I suppose once we got past the ogling crowd and settled in it would be nice and quiet and cool. But we couldn’t really talk.”

Carter just laughed. “Well, since you’re so quick to shoot down all my ideas, what did you have in mind, missy.”

She gave him an exasperated look. “Are you really gonna make me suggest it?”

He was completely clueless at first. Then he kicked himself in the head. This woman really was making him lose it. “I don’t know, the last time I suggested something like that, you read me the damn riot act.”

That got a laugh out of her, then she tilted her head to the side and gave him an endearing smile that turned her dimples into perfect abysses. Carter felt himself sinking right into them, all while another part of him was rising rapidly.

“Fair enough,” she said. “Okay then Mr. Fox, why don’t we get ourselves a hotel room?”

“I thought you’d never ask, Ms. Douglas.”

* * *

She had picked a place called the Driskill simply because she had heard how great it was, but had never stayed there. Whatever she wanted, he was more than happy to oblige. It was a nice hotel, in an old-fashioned sort of way. The lobby was sparsely populated, which made checking in hassle-free, even though neither of them had anything in the way of luggage. No need to draw a map for that one, but the staff was professional about it. It helped that he wasn’t exactly in Slugger Fever territory.

Jordan was looking out the window onto the balcony overlooking the street below them. Carter came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her, leaning in to whisper in her ear. “So, you have any other suggestions as to what we should do?”

She turned around in his arms to face him. Her face crinkled and she scrunched her nose. “Well, I just got done moving in and you just got done driving for three hours. I think it’s obvious.”

Carter laughed. “Message received…happily, I might add.”

She gave him a sly smirk as she pushed him back inside, pulling his shirt out of his jeans as he went. He followed her lead, tugging that royal blue tank top over her head.

By the time they made it to the bathroom they were naked. In their eagerness to get undressed they had barely taken time to notice the novelty of seeing each other fully unclothed for the first time.

Carter certainly enjoyed what he was looking at. Jordan had small, ripe breasts that rose from her chest like the perfect halves of a small orange. Her waist flared out into hips that were perfect for holding onto as you braced yourself against her. Carter could already feel his hands itching to do just that. Her legs were the same gorgeous stretch of curves that had drawn him to her in the first place.

Based on the way she was subtly eyeing him, she was just as impressed.

He grinned as he reached in to turn on the shower. Then he looked at the top of her head. “You worried about your hair?”

Her nervous smile disappeared and transitioned to open shock. “How the heck do you know anything about black hair?”

“Jordan, like I said, I haven’t actually dated in a long time. But, first of all, a third of my team is black. Second of all, I’ve, well, been with enough black women to know, you don’t mess with their hair.”

“Ew,” she said, wrinkling her nose, but she laughed all the same. “Well thank you for looking out for my hair, Carter,” she said with a pert hand on her hips. “But I’ll be fine…I have my ways of fixing it after. So are we gonna do this or not?”

By now the steam from the shower was warming them in the air conditioned room. She didn’t have to ask him twice. He let her in first and followed, enjoying the back of her just as much as the front.

As he watched the water cascade over her head and make rivers down her body, he felt that warmth inside of him again. If every shower could be like this, he would probably never leave.

He grabbed the soap and began lathering his hands. She did the same when he was done. From there it was a long, leisurely process as they explored each other’s bodies with soapy hands, which was really the best way to go about it.

His hands eventually found their way between her legs once again.

“Carter,” she moaned, closing her eyes and throwing her head back as his index finger found the right button.

Meanwhile, her small hand was wrapped around his dick, making it impossibly harder than it already was. If he didn’t stop her soon, he’d finish right there on the shower floor instead of in bed as he originally intended.

He pulled in closer to her, still massaging her clit. Reaching behind her, he shut off the water.

“Let’s go to bed.”
