An Inconvenient Obsession (The Omega Rescue Book 3) by Kian Rhodes (9)

Chapter Nine

Sebastian

When I came out of the shower and found myself face to face with a massive werewolf, my immediate assumption was that something was very, very wrong and my instinctive fear response kicked into overdrive. After all, the only times that I’d seen Alrick’s were was when he’d been responding to a threat. In fact, I’d seen Alrick in werewolf form so rarely that I regularly forgot that he wasn’t just a wolf shifter as I was. Then I had to embarrass myself further over the sleeping arrangements; it was no wonder that he was anxious to return to the castle and escape the responsibility of wrangling such an awkward Omega.

Anyway, all rambling aside, I finally escaped to the bedroom and slid under the covers, closed my eyes and waited for the bone-deep weariness to pull me under. Instead, I found myself unable to relax in the bed that seemed too big with just me in it. I held still under the covers, listening to the faint sounds of Alrick moving about the house, presumably preparing for our exit.

“Sebastian?” Alrick’s voice came from the doorway. “What’s wrong?”

Wrong? I thought to myself, confused. Had I called out to him without realizing it?

“Tell me,” he pressed. “I can sense something is wrong.”

Oh, right. He’s an Alpha. He could sense my emotional state. I sighed.

“N..nothing,” I said, trying to sound confident. “J..just can’t s..sleep.”

Without further comment, Alrick pulled the door closed and blocked it with a large dresser. Then he slipped into the bed beside me, his pheromones wafting over me, comforting me.

“Better?” He asked as I drew in his scent.

“I..I think so.” I closed my eyes again and tried to slow my breathing, fighting the urge to slide closer to his side.

Instead of answering, Alrick snaked one large arm out and wrapped it around me. I squeaked as he pulled me over him, shifting me so my head rested on his chest, my body settling between his muscular thighs.

“Oh,” I sighed as his large hands stroked my back, pressing our flesh together.

“How’s that?” The Alpha asked, a smirk in his voice as I greedily soaked in his touch.

“God, so good. Really, wonderfully good,” I babbled, not even caring how I sounded as the double-edged pleasure of his touch and his voice saturated my body, making me melt into him. “Thank you, Alpha.”

“No problem,” he growled in my ear. “Go to sleep.”

My exhausted body was all too willing to follow his orders, and I promptly fell into a deep slumber.

“Sebastian.”

Alrick’s deep voice wrapped around me, moaning my name as I lay beneath the Alpha in my dream. My wrists were pinned over my head, my legs bent back against my chest, forced down by his chest. My shuddering body began to quake and pulse as his body thrust into mine, spreading me as his teeth scraping the tender skin where he was about to sink his teeth.

“Harder!” I moaned in response, raising my hips to take him deeper. "Alrick…" I gasped as his final thrust pushed me over the edge. My body clenched around him as I sprayed my released between our sweat-slick bodies and collapsed face-down on the wet sheets.

“Sebastian!” Alrick’s voice was breathless. “Wake up!”

“Hmm?” I stretched and forced one eye open, disgruntled at being pulled out of such a pleasant dream. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong,” Alrick said, his voice strained. “I think we really ought to get up, though.”

My other eye popped open at his tone. I lifted my head and pushed up slightly, suddenly aware of the Alpha's tense muscles under me, of his eyes tightly closed and fists clenched in the twisted sheets at his sides. Somehow, I had managed to go from resting between his thighs to straddling them, rubbing my leaking hole against the solid flesh beneath me. Between my slick covering his thighs and groin and my come cooling in stripes across his chest, his body was a beautiful, filthy mess

“Oh, h..hell!” I jumped as if his body had suddenly turned to flame, scrambling off the bed. “Alrick, I am so, so sorry.” I backed away, my face burning, only stopping when I hit the wall. “My..my GOD, I am s..s..so s..sorry!”

“Its okay, Sebastian.” Alrick murmured, staying where he was under the covers, his eyes closed. “It really is. I just had to stop you before you did something in your sleep that you would regret. If you give me a minute, I'll meet you in the other room.”

Something I might regret? Like rape an Alpha werewolf, I thought to myself in horror. I swallowed the strangled attempt at continuing to apologize and ran for the door. Out in the living room, I stopped and dropped to the sofa, burying my face in my hands. I was choking back sobs but tears still began to drip from my eyes. I was so deep in my own feelings that I didn’t even realize I wasn’t alone anymore.

"Hey." Alrick's voice pulled me out of my self-recriminations. "Sebastian, are you okay?"

I opened my mouth but all that came out was a pathetic croak.

"Seb?"

"Why..why didn't you stop me?" I choked out. A split second passed before I realized what I'd just said. It wasn't enough that I'd molested him, I had to turn around and use the same rape shame that had been used against Omegas for centuries? "I..I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It..it's my f..fault."

"Hey, hey." Alrick's heavy hand dropped down to grip the back of my neck. "Calm down, Seb. You didn't do anything. I'm fine."

"I..I.." I swallowed, unable to say the words.

"You didn't do anything," Alrick repeated firmly. "It's a perfectly normal response to being in naked, intimate contact with another being." He released my neck to stroke my hair. "And we both know that I could have stopped you," he continued, his voice dropping slightly. "The only reason I woke you was that I didn't want you to regret it. I would have loved to finish what you started."

A shiver ran through my body as his fingers toyed with my hair, tugging lightly as he pulled through it.

"Now, are you okay?"

I nodded, still not sure I could speak.

"Good." Alrick tugged my hands down from my face and wiped the residual tears from my cheeks with his thumbs. "As long as we're up, let's eat and then we can hit the road, yeah?"

***

It wasn't until after we had eaten and Alrick was strapping on a backpack that he had found in a closet and packed with supplies that I realized that he must have taken a shower before he came out of the bedroom; the smooth expanse of his skin was clean again.

Alrick caught me looking and raised a brow. "Something wrong?"

I shook my head, feeling the blush start, and sighed gratefully when he let it go. We stepped out into the waning moonlight and Alrick stood back, waiting for me to shift first. Then, with the backpack sitting at a jaunty angle between the sharp angular shoulder bones, Alrick started silently through the trees, glancing back once to be sure I was following. The pace he set was slow enough for me to follow comfortably even with the residual tightness in my chest, so I fell in off his left rear flank and allowed my human mind to recede as my wolf's instincts rose to the forefront and settled in to follow my Alpha's lead.
