Electric Chaos (Controlled Chaos Book 1) by Robin R Edwards (15)

Chapter 26

Kellan

As soon as the show is over, and I exit the stage, I notice that Katy isn’t there. I look around but don’t see her. Seeing George, one of our stage crew, I grab his arm.

“Have you seen Katy?”

“Yeah, she was walking toward the buses.”

“Thanks.”

I head toward the buses. As soon as I open the door, my blood goes cold, white hot fury races through me. Colt has Katy pressed against the bus and is kissing her. I race over to them, grab a hold of his collar and yank.

He spins, yel ing, “What the hel ?”

That’s all he gets out before my fist finds his face. My next punch finds his stomach, doubling him over.

“Keep your hands off of Katy.”

He looks at me and sneers, “What’s wrong?

Can’t handle a little competition?”

Is he serious? This guy is crazy.

“I’m pretty sure Katy told you to leave her alone.”

He doesn’t answer but takes a swing at me.

I slide over out of the way before his fist makes contact. I can hear Katy yel ing at us to stop, but the rage hasn’t cleared my head and I ignore her. I punch again and connect this time with his jaw. His head snaps back and blood leaks from his lips. I smile.

I’m brought out of my rage by a flash. When I look around to find it, Colt takes advantage of my distraction and his punch connects with my cheek. I let out a growl.

Time to put this fucker down.

I bring my head around slowly and look at him, and smile. Colt takes a step back.

“Come on.” I give him a come here jester with my hand.

When he is close enough, I punch him with my right hand and fol ow with the left, then a punch to the stomach this time. When he doubles over, I bring my knee up and into his face. He fal s to the ground, face a bloody mess.

I stand over him. “Stay away from Katy.

Come near her again and you wil regret it.”

When I turn to find Katy, I find her wrapped around Maddox crying. All the guys are just staring at me. Maddox is the first to speak.

“We need to go.”

I follow them to the bus. I want to reach for Katy, but I don’t. I sit down on the couch.

Dane tosses me an ice pack.

“Put that on your hand.”

“Thanks.”

I lift my head when I hear the door to the bedroom. Maddox takes a seat beside me.

“What the hel just happened?”

“I don’t know. I came out the

backdoor to find Katy pinned against the bus and Colt kissing her.”

“Did you ask her what was going on?”

I shake my head, “No, he was touching her.

She wasn’t even trying to push him away.”

“I understand that, but what you

don’t get is there was a pap there and he got some really good pictures before we got out there and had him escorted off the property.”

I run my hand through my hair. “Shit.”

“Not only are you going to be

headline news but so wil Katy.”

Fuck, with everything else, she doesn’t need this, and I went and put her on the front page. I need to talk to her, I need to

apologize. I just hope she forgives me. I also need to know why she was al owing that prick to kiss her.

Katy hasn’t come out of the

bedroom, since Maddox put her there yesterday. When we reach the next venue, I make my way to the room. I knock lightly before opening the door. Katy is lying on the bed, facing away from the door.

I shut the door, then sit on the edge of the bed.

“Katy.”

“What?”

“Wil you look at me? Please.”

When she turns, her eyes are red. My stomach drops. It’s my fault she’s been crying.

“I’m so sorry.”

She looks confused. “For what?”

“I shouldn’t have jumped him like that.”

“No, you shouldn’t have. You should have let me deal with him.”

“When I walked out and saw him

kissing you, I lost it.”

She sighs, “Kel an, I understand that, but you have to think before you act. This just caused a whole lot of shit that could have been prevented, not only for me but for you.”

She slides closer to me. “See you don’t know Colt like I do. He is very sneaky. He came there for a reason. Don’t you think it’s funny how a photographer just happened to be there when you were beating the crap out of him.”

“I don’t care why he was there.”

“Wel , maybe you should.”

“Katy, he was touching you and had his mouth on you,” I growl. “What I want to know is why you were kissing him back?”

She sits up, “hold on. You think I was kissing him back?”

“I saw you. You were holding onto him. It looked like you were enjoying yourself.”

She shoves me away. “Have you lost your damn mind?”

Now, she is yel ing at me and I am getting pissed off al over again. I know what I saw.

“No.” I say through gritted teeth.

“Katy, I know what I saw, and you were kissing him back. Is this what you do when I’m not around? You playing me and Colt?

Are you doing this to get back at me for the whole woman pregnant thing? How could you tell me you love me then kiss Colt while I’m on stage?”

I know I need to shut the fuck up, but I can’t seem to make my mouth stop.

She is standing now. “Kel an…” she takes a deep breath. “Of al the people in my life, I really thought you were the one who knew me best, I guess I was wrong, in more ways than one.”

She turns and grabs her jacket. Then, turns back to look at me. Tears are streaming down her cheeks.

“I love you and have for a long time.

The fact that I am stil here after all this shit with that woman, should tel you that, but what you just accused me of tel s me that you don’t love me the same. If you did, then you would know I would never do any that.”

“Love me? I am beginning to wonder if you even know what that words means.

You say that and just yesterday I caught you kissing Colt. You telling him you love him too, when I’m not around?”

I can see the anger and hurt showing in her beautiful green eyes, but I don’t care. My anger has now risen and won’t be put out.

“If you had given me just a minute longer before you so causally stepped in, you would have seen me knee him and punch him in the face, as that’s what I was going to do. As far as know what the word

love means, I know better than anyone what that word means so you can go to hel .”

She steps around the end of the bed toward the door. I reach out for her, but she jerks her arm away. “Don’t.”

“Please, Katy. I’m sorry.”

“You know Kel an, I wish I could

believe you. I think it’s time I go.”

“No!” I jump up.

“Yes. I think we are done here.”

Does she mean the talk, the visit or us? I honestly can’t tel but if I had to guess, I would say al three.
