The three of them were standing in the butler’s pantry, the area between the kitchen and the bar. Adam was lean, tan, and very handsome. He was also shirtless, which she found odd.

Eriq watched Sofia closely, looking for a hint of her attraction to Adam. He didn’t find one. His damned heart fluttered, delighted she didn’t outwardly respond to Adam as she did to Eriq.
Adam was the only daemon employed by the club. He typically bartended with another immortal, Keith, on weeknights, and he was getting ready to start his shift.

“There’s a booth next to Eriq’s. Come,” Adam stated, his voice deep and commanding. It reminded her of Eriq.
Ignoring everyone around her, she focused on her destination. Adam walked behind her.
When they reached the plush seating of the U-shaped booth, Adam had Sofia slide in first. She scooted to make room for him.
“No further.”
She halted, and Adam sat, twisting his hips and torso slightly towards her. He put one arm on the back of the booth behind her, the other on her thigh. The table cloth was covering her legs.
Sofia looked down when she felt his hand playing with the material of her dress under the table cloth. Adam nipped her ear and her pulse increased.
