Chapter 7

Megan was glad to be back in the mansion. She needed to distance herself from Jensen and having her own wing of the house was much better than just a room. To her surprise, Jensen left her alone the whole day and let her get the penthouse cleaned. It was dusk out when they pulled into the driveway and as soon as they got inside, she excused herself. She was tired and stressed and just wanted to soak in a hot bath.

She walked into her room and dumped her bag out on her bed. She put most of her things away and grabbed her pajamas. Just before she walked toward the bathroom, she saw the book Jensen gave her to take with her to the penthouse sitting on her bed. Remembering the last scene she read caused a slight stir deep within her. She quickly grabbed it and headed into the bathroom.

The water quickly steamed up the glass surrounding the massive tub. She watched it rise from the tub as she peeled the clothes from her body. Easing down into the tub she went slowly, feeling the heat from the water sting her skin. When she became accustomed to it, she folded a towel, put it behind her head and closed her eyes. She felt the rush of the water from the faucet on her feet as she thought about Jensen and how he tricked her into trying on all of those clothes at that fancy shop and how he reacted when she told him she didn’t want them. How dare he do that to me, acting like a spoiled rich jerk, throwing his money around.

She almost felt guilty for throwing it back in his face so harshly. She imagined herself in that blue dress he persuaded her to buy. Walking along the path in the garden, meeting with him between the tulips and the roses. He pulls her into him, his arm around the waist of the dress, his hands gathering the sides up to expose her ass, his hands on her ass pulling her into him.

She shook her head and grimaced. She picked up the book and flipped to the next chapter where she left off. Her eyes scanned the words and she quickly got into the scene.

Brandon knew what he wanted and that was Sophie. He watched for her, hoping she would reconsider and return to him. Looking out over the archway, he saw her walking down the long path, away from his castle. He couldn’t bear to lose her. He needed to make love to her one more time. That would show her how much he wanted her. She would be his. He ran down the stone stairway and along the path. His feet pounded the path beneath him until he had her in his sight. ‘Sophie!’ he yelled. She didn’t turn around and she didn’t stop. She picked up her pace when she heard her name called. This infuriated him and caused him to run faster. His hands in fists and his arms swinging with a vengeance, he was going to make her his.

As Megan read the words of the pages she couldn’t help but to recreate Brandon’s character and imagine Jensen running toward her.

When Jensen had Megan within his reach, he lunged toward her and grabbed her arm, swinging her around and locking his arms around her. His hot, hard breath and glistening body was more than she could stand. She looked into his eyes and let him dominate her. His mouth covered hers and his hands pulled her body into his.

Three chapters into the book, Megan’s lips had parted and she was slightly panting. She quickly turned the page as Brandon dominated Sophie and stripped her of her peasant dress. Megan slid her hand to her breast as Brandon lay Sophie down in the thick grass on the side of the path and ravished her body. She slid her hand down into the water and between her legs as he kissed her in places she didn’t think possible. He lit a fire within her that made her beg him for more. He possessed her and made her his.

Megan put the book down onto the floor of the bathroom and stood up out of the water. She switched the shower head on and let the water cascade down her body. She put her head back and felt the strong bead of the water hit her nipple. The sensation it gave her made her shudder. “Oh, Jensen,” she whispered. Her fingers pinched at her other nipple as she lowered the shower head. The water streamed out onto her inner thigh and made her react. She panted and let the water stream work through the crevices of her womanhood. Her arousal increased as thought of Jensen dominating her in his bed spread through her mind. She let the force of the water push her body to orgasm as she held onto the wall. The orgasm flowed through her body just as the water flowed through the shower head.

Jensen paced back and forth in the living room. He couldn’t get Megan out of his mind. Did he push her too far? He was only trying to help her. Couldn’t she see that? But, in the back of his mind he knew her past. He knew she was sensitive. He was angry with himself for trying so hard to make her something she wasn’t. He walked to the foot of the stairs and looked up.

“Maybe she isn’t asleep yet.”

He climbed the stairs to her part of the house and called her name when he reached her bedroom door. He knocked lightly. “Megan?” He didn’t hear anything so he quietly turned the doorknob, peeking inside to see if she had gone to sleep. Her lights were on and her bed was empty. “Megan?” he called again, opening her door further. He heard a soft moan from the bathroom and hesitated looking toward the door. He heard running water so he tiptoed through her room and to the slightly opened door in the bathroom. Pushing it open a little more, he saw her. A smile spread on his face as he watched her feel her breast as she read the book he gave her. He stayed for a few moments to watch as her hand fed down between her legs.

“You are so beautiful,” he whispered. He turned away from the bathroom and walked out of her room, closing the door quietly behind him.

Megan slid into bed putting the book away in the drawer. She couldn’t imagine living a life like the characters in those books. She turned out the lights and very soon fell asleep.

“Megan! Come down here at once!” Jensen’s voice thundered throughout the house. She quickly ran down the stairs, worried that something was really wrong. When she reached the living room, she stopped dead in her tracks. Jensen looked angry. He walked quickly to her and grabbed her by her arms. “Tell me it isn’t true.”

“Tell you what isn’t true?” Her eyes were wide.

“You and Tristan. Did you sleep with him?” His hands were on her arms like a vice.

“So what if I did? You don’t own me. You are my boss that is all.”

“We will see about that.” He pulled her into him and kissed her hard. His arms snaked around her body and he held her tightly. His kiss deepened, softening her body and causing the familiar arousal to spread inside of her. She tasted his tongue and wanted more. He scooped her up and walked to his bedroom. She fell from his arms onto his large bed while he hovered over her, his bare chest heaving in and out. He dropped on top of her, kissing her again. His hands roamed her body and shed her of her nightgown. “I will make you mine,” he growled. He trailed kisses down her neck to her breasts as he kept her arms pinned above her. She struggled to get free, knowing it was all wrong, knowing she shouldn’t be in his bed. He pushed her legs apart and hovered over her before taking her. She felt him inside her, fucking her slowly at first. He thrust into her harder, faster, with more effort and with greater necessity. Just as he fed his hands underneath her head and grabbed handfuls of her hair….

Megan sat up in her bed quickly. Her breathing was very hard and irregular. She looked around frantically touching her body to be sure she wasn’t naked underneath Jensen Dean. She fell back trying to catch her breath.

“Holy shit. It was just a dream. Just a dream.”

Her clothes were soaked with sweat. She got up to change them and realized her sheets were worse. She covered her mouth, completely embarrassed and quickly stripped her bed. She went to the closet and opened it. Just inside the door was a large bag from Harrods. She pulled it out and without giving it a second thought that they were the things Jensen bought her for her room, she pulled out the luxurious purple and white comforter and matching sheets. She made her bed, stuffing the wet sheets underneath her bed and quickly showered before scurrying down to the kitchen.

Black was sitting at the counter, sipping coffee. Megan walked in with her head down. She tried to hide her embarrassing dream but with one look Black knew something was bugging her. He didn’t say a word about it, just continued to watch her as she pulled a pan out of the cupboard.

“Good morning,” Jensen said as he joined them. He was decked out in a gray pressed suit with purple tie. Did he know? Was he flaunting her dream? She had no excuse as to why she had white sheets yesterday and the new purple sheets this morning. Would he have checked in on her? Would he have noticed? She kept her head down as she made their breakfast.

Jensen didn’t seem to question her odd behavior, but just before they walked out to go to work, Black turned and looked at her one last time before closing the front door. She sagged down in her seat and put her head in her hands.

She finished cleaning the kitchen from breakfast and grabbed the laundry basket. She collected the towels from the kitchen and downstairs bathroom. She walked into Jensen’s room and collected his laundry. As she came back out of his bathroom she slowed down by the bed, her eyes cascading over the dark red blanket that covered it. She remembered her dream, him hovering over her. The doorbell chimed and she jumped, letting out a small yelp. She looked around and quickly got out of there.

She walked swiftly down the hallway toward the front door, dropping the laundry basket where no one could see it. She went to the front door and opened it but no one was standing there. She stepped out onto the doorstep and looked around but saw no one around.

“Huh.” She closed the door and continued with her work. Just as she got half way up the stairs, she heard the doorbell again. “What the hell?” She ran to the door and opened it with no one there again. She stood in the doorway a few moments, looking around. She closed the door and grabbed her phone.

“Hi Jensen. I don’t mean to bother you at work, but are you expecting any visitors today?”

“No.”

“No packages or anything?”

“Is there a problem, Megan?” He sounded annoyed.

“No. I was just checking. I won’t bother you again. Do…you like macarons?”

“Excuse me?”

“Macarons. With ganache?”

“I haven’t had that since I was a boy.” She could hear the amusement in his voice.

“We will have some with dinner then.”

Megan smiled as she pocketed her phone. She looked once again at the front door and checked the lock to be sure it was secure. Spinning on her heels, she dashed to the kitchen. She has been wanting to do some French cooking since she started the job but never had any real time to do so. She checked for the ingredients before finishing her work. She wanted to account for a trip to the grocer’s shop if she needed it.

With the last of the laundry in the dryer, Megan put her ingredients together for her macarons. She wanted them to be perfect so she double checked everything and paid special attention to detail. She opened the oven and checked the temperature just as she heard the office phone start to ring. She quickly pushed the tray into the oven and dashed to his office. She sat at his desk, picking up the phone with a pen in her hand ready to dictate the message.

“Dean residence.” There was no one there. “Hello?” She leaned over and looked at the caller id. It said UNKNOWN. “Hello.” She said hesitating before hanging up. Trying not to think too much into it she got up and went around his desk. When she reached the door, it rang again. She turned and just looked at it. Stop being so paranoid, Megan. It was probably someone with bad reception. She shook it off and reached across the desk, picking up the phone. “Hello, Dean residence.” Again, there was no one there. She didn’t move, listening intently. She heard someone breathing. “Hello, I can hear you. Can I take a message for Mr. Dean?” The breathing got heavier and a funny pang hit her stomach. She quickly hung up and the doorbell chimed. She snapped her head to the side, looking out the office door. She peeked down the hallway toward the front door but didn’t move. Her body started to quiver. She didn’t know if anyone else was on the grounds or if they all went home for the day. The doorbell sounded again and she slowly walked toward the door. “Who is it?” she asked meekly when she reached it. No one answered. “Who’s there!” she shouted. The phone rang from down the hallway again and the doorbell chimed again. The pang hit her again and she got scared. She ran up the stairs and called Jensen.

“What is it?”

“Where are you?” she said with panic in her voice.

“Megan? What’s wrong?” he asked with urgency.

“Someone is messing with me bad. The phone then the doorbell, but no one is there.” The doorbell chimed again. Megan yelped. “It keeps happening.”

“Okay, okay listen to me. Go around the staircase close to my office. Are you going?”

“Yes.” Her voice shook. She ran down the stairs and down the hallway toward his office.

“In the small nook next to my office there is a door. Go down to the basement.”

Megan opened the small door and followed the stairs downward. She ended up in a basement, fully furnished with games and a bar.

“Go around the pool table to the other side of the wall. Do you see a picture of the sun setting on the ocean?”

“Yes.”

“Pull it off the wall.”

She hesitated but did what he told her to do. She grabbed the frame and jerked at it. The picture moved away from the wall on hinges exposing a number key pad.

“Press 32645 and follow the corridor to the other room. You’ll be safe there until I get there. I’m not far.”

She pressed the combination and the wall slid away, leaving an opening. She stepped inside and the small corridor illuminated immediately. She walked along until it opened up into a small room. The wall slid closed, sealing her inside. She looked around and saw four computer monitors on the far wall, a full desk with computer, speakers, locked cabinets and a table with cushioned chairs.

She walked around the room, sat at the desk, looked at the monitors, and tried to listen to any sounds she could hear. The monitors beeped and came on, making her jump. When a picture showed on each of the screens, she kept her eyes on them. Each monitor showed a different part of the grounds. She went from one screen to the other, her hands clasped tightly together. Her mouth was dry and she had to fight to stop from panicking.

A figure moved along the bushes on one of the screens and her heart rate increased. She backed away from the desk as if they could reach through and grab hold of her. The figure disappeared and she frantically looked into the other monitors to find it again.

She heard the wall move behind her and she squealed, spinning around and backing up toward the desk. The wall slid open and Jensen appeared with a worry on his face.

“Are you okay?” He rushed to her, holding her out at arms-length to look her over.

“I’m fine, just shaken up. Who is doing this? Did you hear or see anyone?”

“No, nothing.” He walked to the monitors and looked at each one of them. He hit some buttons in his phone and took her hand. “Come on.” He led her back upstairs and into the living room where Black was standing by the window. She sat on the couch and took a deep breath.

“Tell me what happened,” Jensen said standing over her.

“My cookies!” She jumped up and ran into the kitchen. She yanked the oven door open and the smoke barreled out. “My…cookies,” she said again in a lower tone. She pulled them out and set them on the stove. The small black mounds smoldered and she covered her face and cried.

“They are just macarons. You can make more.”

“It’s not just the cookies. It’s everything. Why did I even believe that I could do this? This place, this job….” She stopped before mentioning Jensen.

He put his arm around her and led her back to the couch. “Here.” He handed her a glass of water.

Megan told them what happened and how scared she got being in that big place by herself.

Jensen looked at Black. “I want the area secured and I want the footage checked. Whoever is doing this needs to be taught they can’t fuck with me.” She watched the muscles in his jaw clench. He looked back at her after Black left and rubbed her arms. “Let me walk you to your room.”

“I still have to get dinner.”

“We can have a late dinner. I’ll order take out. Come on.” He walked her to her room and double checked the area before leaving her to rest.

She lay in the middle of her bed, hugging her heart-shaped pillow. She knew had to stop getting down on herself to make this work.

“You’ll be okay?” he asked. He looked at her the same way he looked at her during lunch the other day. If he didn’t think she could do this job, he would have let her go a long time ago…wouldn’t he? She felt her cheeks get warm as she remembered the dream she had about him the night before.

“Megan? What is it?”

“Nothing.” She rolled over to the other side and stared at the wall until she heard him leave. Just as the door shut, she looked back. Was she feeling something more for him? She took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
