Ridin' Dirty (Hilary Storm) by Hilary Storm (16)

Chapter Sixteen

Slater

She was right about how close the safe house was. The drive was intense though and she did a great job of finding a place off the grid and extremely hard to find. I’m not sure I’d be able to find it if she wasn’t there to tell me when to make the turns. She didn’t tell me she bought a house on the lake.

Today’s going to be tough. I know what I have to do. I’m just here to make sure she’s safe and has everything she needs before I leave her here to take care of business and eliminate any threats to her. I’m not sure if she’ll fight me about leaving or will welcome the thought of finally being in her safe house without anyone to interfere with her starting over.

“From what I can tell, you thought of everything. I especially love your supply of rifles against the wall.” I have to tease her about the collection of guns. It tells me she’s ready to do what it takes to stay safe. She’s far enough out here that she can take out anyone who threatens her and not another soul on Earth would hear a thing. That brings comfort to my conscience as I think about the best way to leave her here.

“I do need to make a trip to town to get groceries. There’s a small town nearby that has a store. Do you wanna come?”

“Sure.” And so… we begin normalcy. Or what everyone else in the world would call normal. Nothing about a domesticated relationship is normal with me, not that I don’t want it to be that way. It’s just my life has been full of chaos and I’ve never had the opportunity or person to make a home with. Everything about this day is becoming what I’ve always thought was out of my reach. “Nice Jeep.” I point to the black Jeep in the garage as we walk through. It sits next to an SUV that’s gray and very normal looking.

“You really do have it all under control.” This both comforts me and terrifies me. She doesn’t need me. I want her to, but I guess in our circumstance it’s great that she’s independent and can handle herself. I was going to leave here on foot and figure it out, but it looks like I can take the truck and she’ll still have something to drive.

I need to get it out of here anyway so there’s no tie to her past. “Let’s take one of mine. This time I’m driving.” Her smile grows as she opens the Jeep door and slides in.

She hits every bump and pothole along the way with a wicked laugh echoing through the Jeep. Her happiness is something I’ve rarely seen in our time on the road, so I take in every ounce of her smile as we make our way to the tiny town. There’s one stop sign and a small grocery store in the middle of a group of houses they’re calling a town. I think this is a perfect place to come and be able to tell if you’re being followed before you make the trip back to the house.

I couldn’t have chosen a better location if I had tried to… with the exception of a deserted island in isolation from the rest of the world maybe.

“Do you know if there’s a grill at the house?”

“Do you know how to cook steaks?” She leans around me as I start picking out a few cuts. I could use some real food tonight before I take on the dozen assholes I’ll have to deal with when I leave here tomorrow.

“I make a mean steak.” She stands on the tip of her toes to give me a kiss with a huge smile on her face while that kiss goes straight through me. I like seeing her like this.

“It’s a cheap thing the owner before me left behind. I’m sure it’ll do the job.”

We continue to fill the shopping cart with everything she could possibly need. I feel guilty because she buys two of everything… but I’m not about to break it to her here that I won’t be there for the meals she’s planning.

We fill every possible space in the Jeep with the bags, including the floorboard under my feet and my lap. I remember the burner phone I brought to call her father just as we pull out of the parking lot and decide to wait until tomorrow to call him. I’ll wait until I’m far from here and eliminate any possibility of tracing it back to this area, just in case I’m up against some fucking tech-savvy group I’m not aware of.

The ride back to the house is quiet… but I take every opportunity to watch her. I guess you can say I’m memorizing everything about her so I can take it all with me. I’ll use it as motivation to kick their asses and get back to her as quick as I can.

She drives us around the lake on the way home and I can’t help but fall in love with this place the more I see it. I make a mental note of all the things I want to do as soon as I get back and begin looking forward to it all.

We carry everything in as soon as we pull into the garage. “I’m going to start the grill. How do you like your steak?”

“Medium.” We fall into the cliché’ of normalcy real quick as we move through the kitchen together. I can’t help but flirt and give a slap to her sexy ass each time I pass. “Don’t threaten me with a great time, Mr… uhh, I don’t even know your last name.”

“It’s Brooks.”

“So, I’ve been calling you by a name that has nothing to do with the real one you were born with? I heard your grandparents scold you and call you Blake Michael.” She starts to laugh as she teasingly pinches my side. “You don’t look like a Blake.”

“Is that right? What do I look like?” I lift her so that she’s sitting on the counter, face to face with me. I steal a few kisses before she has the chance to respond.

“Sexy Slater.” She bites her bottom lip as she says my name and that’s all it takes to disregard all the groceries that need put away and the coals that’re burning. She slides her arms over my shoulders and pulls me against her, kissing her way over my lips and down my neck. She’s tugging on my shirt in all directions, so I slip it over my head and drop it at my feet allowing her to do what she wants with me.

Her soft lips torture me almost as much as her tongue does, but it’s the scrape of her nails across my back that has me finally going insane. I rip the fly of my jeans open before I pull her off the counter and take us both the dining room table. Her laughter fills the house as he sits back and watches me until a hunger takes over her expression that matches my own.

“Slater. I want you.”

“I want you too, baby.” And that’s all it takes for me to thrust inside her and send us both straight to the edge. I keep a precise rhythm, drawing her orgasm out as long as I can before I let my own go. She feels fucking amazing on my dick. She gets better each time and I’m not sure I can handle her any better than she is right here. “Fuck. I love how you feel.”

“I love… how you feel too.” She hesitates between my thrusts and for a second I think she’s about to say something else. In most situations, I’d run for the fucking hills if I started feeling this way about a girl, but Harley’s different. I want her to feel this way about me.

I want her to need me as much as I want her.
