Ghost

I was voted in as Wasp’s enforcer, Tarzan as Tic’s, and our Sargent at Arms is none other than Soldier. Must I explain where his road name came from? Didn’t think so, anyways Bomber is staying as our IT guy but he will also be our acting Road Captain for the time being. Levi and Carson, were both voted in unanimously as full-fledged brothers. We will be having a party to not only recognize them but also to serve as a farewell to our other brothers. It also opens up the doors for new prospects. We’ve had a few hangers that would make good proby’s. Another term we use for prospects. We all know recruitment will be needed for both charters now that we’re splitting up. Things could get interesting for us all.

Time to bring in some numbers. The one thing we’re all in agreement of is we need safety in numbers. The last couple of years show us we’re more vulnerable than we ever thought we were. There’s no way we can allow anything to happen to our family the way it did in the past. Lessons have been learned and we aren’t the ones to not learn from our past mistakes. The meeting was adjourned and we all get up from our seats. I sit back for a minute and watch all of the brother’s faces. They’re taking the news better than I anticipated and seem to be excited about our new adventure. I sure am going to miss my friends and their Ol’ ladies. They’ve all become an intricate part of my life.

As we exit our meeting room, I zone in immediately on Bristol. She’s become an enigma to me. I can’t stay away from her and I can’t stop thinking about her. Her past however, keeps her at a distance. I’m not sure what those fuckwit parents did to her, but I won’t ever allow anyone to ever hurt her again. I haven’t claimed her yet, and I haven’t told her, but she’s mine. The day I took her from Cordozos is the day I knew she was meant to be with me. It’s an unwritten and unbounded law with the brothers, but they understand and keep their distance.

We sent her mother away to one of our safe houses for seclusion. It’s the only thing we will do for her. Only because she’s King’s sister, otherwise the bitch can rot in hell as far as I’m concerned. Kid and Skylar feel the same way so there is no debate on that issue. We kept her alive and that’s above and beyond what any of us even wanted to do. She was supposed to protect her daughter, not sell her to the highest bidder. The bitch has made her bed and she can lie in it. Hopefully one day it will catch fire.

Bristol has become close to Kassi and Kaci so I know them leaving is going to affect her in ways she’s not prepared for. When Kassi was in the hospital, Bristol became her sounding board. Those two have been inseparable since. Losing Fern was a blow to both Kassi and Malibu. Somehow though, those two are working it out and trudging along. The things we’ve learned since Fern’s death are both saddening and disheartening. She fought a battle for her brother alone, never once coming to us for help. She loved us to a point where she was unwilling to put any of us in danger.

She hadn’t realized what she’d been doing would hurt the one person who she unconditionally loved. More to the point I should say the two people. Malibu and Kassi. That’s their story to tell however. I have my own woman to help get through her demons. One day, when she’s ready, and trusts me completely, I will find out all of what she’s suffered. When that day comes, I may not be able to help myself. Her mother may find out exactly what I’m capable of. I know out of respect for King we’re supposed to be leaving her alone.

I can’t, however, make any promises if things were as bad as I have a feeling they were. No disrespect intended towards King, I know he led a life of misery every day dealing with the demons that were his sister. I feel he would have lost his shit finding out about Bristol and the treatment she endured from his long-lost, spiteful bitch of a sister. Her father is no innocent either, but that’s a situation that’s already been handled. We owed him no loyalties.

Kid, Skylar and Bristol have formed a relationship. One that I know is unbreakable. It’s as if they’d known each other their entire lives. I know they’ve spoken to each other about their parents, upbringing and set some things straight from lies spoken of from her mom. Bristol is making peace with the fact that she had family who would’ve cared about her had she been given the chance. Fuck, everyone leaving her may make her vulnerable and miserable for a while. I’m not, however, gonna let it be an option for her to be leaving with them. If anyone brings it up to her that she can leave with them, they are going to deal with me personally.
