Taken by Temptation: Rage Ryders MC by Liberty Parker (5)

Bristol

We got settled into our room and decided to hit the mall up. They have food courts there so we can grab something to eat after our shopping is done for the day. We all decided to just snack before shopping because let’s face it, a full stomach plus shopping equals a very tired person, and we need all of our energy to hit all of the shops we’ve planned. Since this is just an overnight trip we need to get it all done today. Plus, they may not admit it, but none of these ladies want to be away from their kids and men for longer than a night. Getting away is good, staying gone sucks.

As we head to the mall we’re having a grand old time, with our escorts riding one in front and one in back I feel safe and protected. It seems to be a theme since I met my family and I’m not going to complain about it one bit, unlike my tribe of ladies with me. “Can’t we ever have some quality girl time without escorts?” Sky sulks while asking us.

“Well I for one am grateful. Do you remember what happened the last time we didn’t have any?” Riley asks Sky.

“No, I remember, one of the worst days of my life. The months that followed weren’t any better,” Sky says while still pouting. I hide my smile knowing it will only annoy her. “The difference is though, that there’s no one out to get us. We could handle a simple shopping trip on our own. I can’t even get my nails done in town without having a man on me. I feel like I have no privacy in my own town anymore.”

“Oh, like we had any privacy in our town without the guys being around. You know better, there’s a bunch of town gossip when it comes to us. We’d be reported to the guys with or without our escorts. Then we’d have to justify ourselves over whether it’s the truth or a bunch of made-up bullshit,” Sadie says.

“You’re going to miss this town and its drama,” Kori pipes up, “Admit it.”

“I will neither confirm nor deny that statement,” Sky announces to us.

Sadie pops in with, “I’ll miss you Kori, you Bristol, and mom and dad.”

“Me too,” Riley agrees.

Sky puts her two cents in. “Every single day, the only solace I have is that at least some of my girls will be going through this with me.”

“I’m going to miss you all. I just got you in my lives and it sucks saying goodbye.”

“We’re not saying goodbye Bristol, we’ll only be a couple of hours away. We can visit all the time,” Sadie reassures me. The car goes quiet the rest of the way to the mall. We’re all lost in our thoughts that we won’t be an everyday part of each other’s lives anymore. It’s a sad recognition for all of us to be slapped in the face with. I know this move is important to the club, but separating us feels like a heartbreak.

Once we make it to the mall, find a parking space and get out I decide to break the ice. “Let’s not talk about the move anymore today. Let’s just enjoy each other’s company and pretend like it’s a normal day and we’re not getting in some last-minute time with each other.” They all agree and we start our shopping spree. This will be my first one, mother always bought my clothes so I’m really looking forward to today.

First up is an exclusive lingerie boutique. This is her only shop and she hand makes every single piece she sells. I find a beautiful set that I fall in love with. It’s black lace with pink woven lace at the top of the bra and panties that match. It’s in my size so I pick it up to purchase, not that I’ll be showing it off to anyone but me and the girls. Sex is nowhere on my radar for now, though that could change and I’d love to have something to wear for when that day comes. These thoughts lead me to Ghost. I wonder what he’s doing right now? Is he missing me while I’m away? Secretly I’m hoping he is, you know, since he wants me for himself and all.

We spend a little over an hour in the boutique before everyone settles with their purchases. Skylar grabs mine and informs me this shopping trip is on the club, which gives me some relief since my financial situation is little to none. I was going to spend my last pennies on this lingerie set. “Thank you,” I tell her.

“It’s our pleasure,” she says back to me, causing us to both break out into smiles. This trip is going to be better than I expected and I can’t wait to add clothing to my non-existent wardrobe.

The girls know fashion, so imagine my surprise when we hit up an Old Navy store. I was thinking we’d at least hit up some type of high-end store, but apparently, less money means more clothing and you can still look good. I’ve never been there and am excited when I see all the sales and the clothes are simple yet amazing at the same time. Who knew shopping could be so much fun? My mom had people come measure me and my wardrobe was always delivered. This is like visiting Disney World would be like for one of the kids. My eyes are open and so are my arms as I’m loaded down with jeans, shorts, sweaters, t-shirts, camisoles and flip-flops.

I even got a few summer dresses to add to the mix. I have a mixture of all seasons and since we’re going into summer some of the stuff in my arms is half off. I’m excited to learn I can get a discount and fully stock up on what I’m missing. Some of the stuff I’ve never had the chance to wear before coming into the fold of my new family. Jeans and t-shirts were forbidden. Slacks, dresses, fancy sweaters and blouses were all I’ve ever worn. All I was permitted to wear, had to look good for daddy’s business associates. Plus, according to mom, you never knew who would stop by for tea or coffee. Looking presentable at all times was a must for her.

Our next stop was a shoe store, and I now officially own my first pair of tennis shoes and sandals. No more pumps and heels for this girl.
