The Omega's True Alpha: An Mpreg Shifter Romance (Shifters of Distance Book 3) by Lorelei M. Hart (26)

Chapter Twenty-Six

Jasper

“It’s not funny,” I said, already shaking with laughter myself, my huge eight-months prego belly bouncing up and down.

“No, it’s not. Yes, it is. It’s adorable. Who knew?” Conrad leaned against the kitchen counter and dragged me toward him.

“I did. Anyone who has been pregnant or eaten beans knows. And pushing on my tummy might not be a good idea there, alpha.” His protruding dick was pulsing against my very pregnant stomach.

“I don’t eat beans, but you kind of sound like a sputtering car.” He cracked up at his own joke.

I groaned and leaned my head against his chest but then joined him in laughing, which made me fart more.

Which made us laugh more.

Which made me fart more.

Ridiculous.

“It’s adorable, you know that, right? I mean you fart even in your sleep.”

I pretended to be mad, crossing my arms, and started to stomp away. “Fine. Leaving now. I have an appointment with Hayden anyway.”

Conrad fisted the back of my shirt, and I acted like it was really stopping me from walking, which it wasn’t.

“Get back here, omega mine. You’re mine, farts and all.”

Lately, I couldn’t eat anything without it giving me one of two things—gas or heartburn. I’d prefer the heartburn.

I turned and went back into his arms. “You love me after all this?”

“I love you because of all this. You’ve given me everything, Jasper. Everything.”

I leaned up and nibbled on his chin. “You’ve given me everything.”

He looked down at me, and I felt his hard-on jump again, bumping against mine. “Owen is taking his nap. You know that kid can sleep through anything.”

Another thing about late-term pregnancy, I was hornier than ever and Conrad loved it. He made sure I was taken care of in every way.

“I have my appointment soon—examinations and all that.”

Conrad thought on it for a moment. “Does your sweet mouth have an appointment?”

I grabbed his hand and started for the bedroom. “Pants off, alpha. Now.”

Just as his fingers dipped to the button of his jeans, the phone rang. We both groaned.

“Hello? This better be good.” I snorted when he answered the phone that way, which was most of the time. He thought it was funny.

“Oh, okay. Sure. Samson is fine. Of course. I will be here. No problem. Happy shifting.”

“What’s going on?” I asked as soon as he hung up the phone.

“Hayden and the alpha’s young is shifting for the first time, like right now, and he’s sending Samson in his place.”

I scrunched my nose up. I knew who Samson was but didn’t like the idea of anyone except my mate and Hayden getting a look down below.

“Well, I guess it’s okay. You’ll stay with me?”

Conrad sidled up to me and pulled me close. “Of course. Think we have time to finish what—”

A knock on the door broke us apart.

“This pack is one big cock-blocker, that’s for sure.”

I giggled. “You said big cock.”

He waved me off. “You left off a part.”

I nodded. “I’m focusing on the positive things.”

“You crack me up, omega. Let’s get this over with.”

He let Samson in. He was a confident alpha, strong and knowledgeable. I hadn’t realized how tender and gentle he was, or maybe Hayden had told him to act that way. He examined me and then stood. “This pregnancy is probably easier than Owen. Everything looks great. He’s a good weight and size, and his heartbeat is strong.” He let us listen to it, and Conrad had to swipe away a tear. “So, how are the other things? I know you had some broken ribs, things like that.”

I felt the anger rising in my alpha, but I ignored it. “My ribs are fine. This little one likes to stick his feet in between them at night, but other than that, there’s no pain. Just some discomfort. My neck hurts when I do things that make me look down like sweeping or mopping. But my alpha takes care of those.”

Samson gave Conrad an approving nod.

“That’s excellent. Well, I think we are good here.” He took off his gloves and chucked them into the trash. “You’re right on time, Jasper. Please call me if you need anything.”

The alpha took his time putting his things away while I settled my clothes back in place. I looked at Conrad who shrugged.

“Samson, is there something you’re not telling me?”

He blew out a breath and dropped his head and put his hands on his hips.

“I have a favor to ask, actually.”

Conrad’s face gave away his confusion.

“What can we do for you?”

Samson looked at us. “Any idea how to court an omega who’s been through hell? Because Alex is mine.”
