Torpedo: A Second Chance Romance by Joanna Blake (73)

Camille

My face hurt from smiling and my feet hurt from dancing, and it was only ten thirty at night. But I still felt wonderful. I knew our wedding wouldn't wind down for at least an hour. But I'd tasted all the food and danced more than I had in years.

I was also the only person here who wasn't drinking champagne.

Cade, on the other hand, had had enough champagne to sedate a horse. I watched him, talking to my great aunt Sylvia with his siblings crowded around. He was so good with people, no matter their age or walk of life.

He'd even charmed my cat.

And that was saying something.

Now it was time for him to pay up on his promise. I'd waited all week, letting him do whatever he wanted when we were in bed. He had his fun, making me squirm.

Now it was my turn.

Luckily I was sober and he was a little bit sloshed. I smiled, my mind working in overdrive. I'd had a special package sent to the honeymoon suite. It wasn't just bridal lingerie and prenatal vitamins either.

No, I'd gotten some toys.

I'd also gotten a suite with a bed you could attach things to. Like handcuffs. Man sized handcuffs. With leather lining to keep him from getting injured.

Actually, they were more like old school manacles.

It was time to put them to use. I walked across the room to collect my husband. He was surrounded by adoring females, as usual. Only these were all under fifteen and over seventy-five.

"Come on handsome. Sorry girls, I need to steal him away."

He grinned at me, coming as willingly as a lap dog.

"Where are we going?"

I squeezed his hand and led him out of the main room and into the foyer. I waited until no one was looking and pulled him outside to the street. A limo was waiting for us there.

The driver opened the door and I held my hand out.

"Time to go, buttercup. Get in."

He looked shocked.

"We have to say goodbye to everyone!"

"No. We don't."

He smiled knowingly. He thought he had the upper hand. That was okay. He wouldn't be thinking that for long.

"I'm shocked Mrs. Dupree."

I climbed into the limo, smiling at my new name. The funny part was I'd put Rivers-Dupree down on the marriage license for BOTH of us. I wasn't sure he'd noticed.

Cade was taking my name too, whether he liked it or not.

The moment we were inside he pulled me against him, kissing me deeply. I was out of breath by the time we arrived at the hotel and Cade was fully erect. We'd spent the entire limo ride making out like teenagers.

It was a lot of fun, but I was eager to get to the main event.

We had a suite at one of the most venerated hotels in Manhattan for the rest of the weekend. That was the extent of our honeymoon. For now at least. We might take a longer trip in the off-season but it was still up for debate. We had a bun in the oven after all.

Cade simply couldn't take too much time off during the season. I didn't mind though. There were plenty of thrills to be had right here.

I leaned against him in the elevator to the penthouse.

"Tired, sweetheart?"

I shook my head 'no.'

We stepped inside and smiled at each other, a little uncertainly. We both knew that tonight was different. Special somehow.

Of course, Cade had no idea just how different it was going to be.

"Want to wash up?"

I gave him an odd look. Was he stalling? I knew he was aroused but I wasn't sure if he had caught on to my plans. I needed the element of surprise to pull this off.

"No. Do you?"

He shook his head and I sighed in relief. Though, if he showered I might have time to hide all my tools… I felt like a criminal, scheming like this.

But he deserved it. And like the saying goes, he had it coming.

And then some.

I felt unaccountably shy as he pressed me against him. I could feel how hard he was. Good. That's exactly how I wanted him.

And I was going to keep him like that.

All damn night.

He lifted my wedding dress off of me carefully, then pulled his own clothes off until he was standing there nude. I took him in, smiling appreciatively. His equipment was all mine now. And I liked it.

I liked it a lot.

"Cade?"

"Hmmm hmmm?"

"Get on the bed."

He raised his eyebrows, grinning at me. He thought we were playing a game. Good. Let him think that a little while longer.

"Yes, ma'am!"

I watched as he lay down. I told him to get in the center of the bed and he grinned wider. He watched eagerly as I crawled on top of him, straddling his chest. He reached for me and I grabbed one hand, cuffing him before he knew what was happening. I locked the cuff to the bedpost while he was distracted, pawing my ass with his other hand.

Then I sat back and smiled at him.

Cade Dupree looked at his bound arm then back at me. He looked surprised as hell. I was loving every minute of it.

Finally, I was the one with the upper hand.

"Surprise!"
