The Luck of the Wolves (A Paranormal Wolf-Shifter Romance) by Sophie Stern (17)

Bronx

It’s the sexiest fucking thing I’ve ever seen, but the moment isn’t done yet. Before Madison has even finished coming, I’m inside of her, fucking her. She grabs my shoulders, hanging on as if she might float away, and I thrust inside of her relentlessly, fucking her hard.

We both need this.

I’ve never needed a woman as badly as I need Madison right now. She’s such a paradox of shy and wild, innocent and naughty. Sometimes she’s reserved and sometimes, when she gets very, very turned on, she lets go of all of her inhibitions.

Sometimes she lets herself go.

I wasn’t sure what she was going to say when I asked her to be specific in her desires, but fuck, if that wasn’t the hottest thing I’ve ever heard in my damn life. She wants me inside of her? I’ll be inside of her. I’ll stay here forever if she just keeps looking at me with those beautiful eyes and that pretty smile. I’ll give Madison the fucking world if she keeps talking to me like this, I realize.

“Bronx,” she digs her nails into my shoulders as I thrust inside of her. Her legs are tightly wrapped around me, pulling me closer, deeper.

“You’re so fucking tight, Madison. You should have warned me, baby. Your pussy feels like fucking magic.”

“I have a tight pussy,” she agrees. “Fuck, I feel so full with you inside me, Bronx. Your dick is so thick, baby.”

“I’m not going to last very long,” I admit, warning her, but I nip at her ear and her neck, and then I kiss her deeply, still making love to her. She doesn’t seem to mind my admission. In fact, I think she feels a little smug about it because she just smirks and then kisses me over and over.

And then I come for Madison.

I come for the girl who has somehow, without even trying, completely captured my heart.

I come for her with a groan, with a whisper, and then I bite her hard on the neck.

“Fuck!” She cries out, reaching for her neck, pushing me away. “Oh shit, oh shit, you bit me! Fuck! Am I bleeding?” My eyes go wide as she pulls her hand away from her neck and looks at her blood-covered palm. “Oh fuck! You bit me! Is this it? Is this how you’re going to kill me? I told you that I wasn’t trying to hurt you!” She starts to cry, and I reach for her quickly before she bleeds anymore. Madison tries to fight me as I lean toward her neck. I grab her wrists, holding her still as I slide my tongue over the bite mark to seal the wound.

“It’s not what you think,” I tell her.

“I knew you were going to kill me,” she cries, sobbing. “I just didn’t think it was going to be during sex. I’m so dumb! Fuck!” She covers her eyes with her hands, which are still covered in blood, making a huge mess and making her look like she was just attacked.

“Madison, look at me.”

She keeps sobbing, and I reach for her hands, pulling them away from her.

“Madison.”

This time, she looks at my eyes, and she stops sobbing, waiting to see what I’m going to say. I have to say something because this is a really, totally, completely fucked-up situation and I’ve just made it about a million times worse.

Madison is in trouble for trying to kill me. I should have put her down immediately, right there in the woods. Instead, I didn’t do that. Instead, I brought her home and played with her. I kissed her. I made love to her. I worshipped her with my body.

And then I fucking marked her as my mate, and she has no damn clue what this means.

“I’m not going to kill you,” I tell her.

“Then why did you bite me?” She asks.

I swallow hard. This wasn’t supposed to happen. Not to me. Not to the Alpha. I always figured that when I found a mate, it would be after months or years of being a couple. It would be with someone I knew everything about, someone who adored me. It would be a good match with another wolf who was loved and respected by the pack.

But it’s not.

She’s our mate.

My inner-wolf is satisfied with this decision. He’s comfortable with taking a human mate, but I don’t know if I am. It’s too late for regrets or second thoughts, but all I can think of is that I’ve claimed Madison’s future and I haven’t even talked to her about it.

And when did I start caring what she thought?

We’ve always cared.

“I’m a shifter,” I say slowly. I have to explain this to her and I don’t know how she’s going to react.  I need to be careful, to choose the right words. One wrong choice and things could go very, very badly. Everything has to be right with this. It needs to be perfect.

“Yeah, I got the memo,” she says, pointing toward her neck. She’s naked, sitting up in bed, and she looks so beautiful like this. She looks unbothered by the fact that she’s nude. No, Madison is content with her body, not embarrassed, and she shouldn’t be. My eyes are drawn to her lovely breasts and her beautiful eyes and her sweet little nose.

“Wolves are lucky,” I say, and she stills.

“What?” She whispers.

“Luck,” I tell her. “Each wolf is destined to have a true mate. It’s not like with humans.”

“Where you might date someone for half a decade and still not know if you want to be together?”

“Exactly,” I nod. “With wolves, it’s different. I thought that when I found a mate, it would be someone I was dating. I figured one day I’d just realize she was my mate and that we were destined to be together.”

“Bronx, what are you saying? Exactly, Bronx. Be specific,” she echoes my earlier words, and I swallow hard.

“When I was inside of you, something changed for me, Madison.”

“Bronx?”

“I couldn’t control it. I marked you, baby. It’s destiny.”

“What did you do to me, Bronx?” She reaches for her neck and touches the place where she now has a scar: a mating mark. It’s a magical scar. It’ll never go away. No matter what she does, no matter how far she might go, no matter what type of body lotions or creams she uses, that scar will always be there.

“I claimed you as my mate, Madison.”
