Hers to Have (His to Own Book 2) by Autumn Winchester (25)

Chapter 27

Avidya

That same night, right after making dinner and getting it set on the table, Zachariah drew my attention. It wasn’t hard to do in the first place.

“I think it’s time that I claim you, fully, on all sides of my life,” he said. His look was dark as he pinned me in place. It was that tone of voice, the one I loved more each time it was used.

“What do you mean?” I asked, not understanding his thoughts.

“Doms claim their submissive by placing a collar on them in some sort of fashion,” he explained, pulling out a square box and placing it on the table as he stepped closer to me. “Some subs will wear a bracelet, ring, or even a necklace. Now, since I don’t feel like the wedding ring is enough, I picked this little thing up.” He pointed towards the box.

“Why?” I asked, still not understanding.

“I like the world knowing that you are mine in every sense,” he spoke easily. “Plus, it will be there to remind you that you are always on my mind. When we get a bit more busy with playtime, I’ll get you something that is stronger that won’t break so easily when we play.”

Giving me a soft smile, he took a hold of the box and open the lid upwards, showing me, I couldn’t help but be in awe.

Inside the box was a simple necklace. A cross hung off of the infinity symbol.

“Turn around,” Zachariah stated, taking the piece out of the box.

I did as I was instructed, turning my back to him ad lifting my hair. As he put the necklace around my neck, the chain was light and cold against my skin.

“Although it seems small, this piece fits you, Avidya,” he whispered, his breath tickling my neck. “I would do something stronger that would be less likely to fall off and break during our play times, but this was meant to be yours. I saw it, and knew I had to get it for you for this purpose alone.”

“I love it,” I spoke, letting my hair fall back in place. “It’s perfect.” I really did like it.

“I thought so too,” Zachariah said, pressing a steaming kiss against my lips after I turned to face him once more.

I knew what would be happening shortly after dinner was finished and cleaned up. I couldn’t wait as my core throbbed in time with my heart beat.

~oOo~

A little over a week later, I found myself sitting across from Kenna in a coffee shop that wasn’t very busy at this late morning hour. The red booths and tables sat along the walls, giving just enough space for anyone to come in and order coffee or tea.

Latte World was a small run business and the owners certainly used whatever little space they could. It was cute in its own way but it would be crowded if a lot of people were to come in. Jonas was able to squish himself by the front door, trying to appear smaller than he was. It was almost funny seeing him try to be small and blend it.

It didn’t work here very well.

Kenna wore her black hair in a loose braid over one sun-kissed shoulder, both hands around her steaming cup of coffee. Before me sat my own cup of flavored hot cocoa, my hands nearly squeezing the cup to death. Good thing that the cup was made of a stronger plastic.

“How have you been?” Kenna asked.

“Good,” I answered, willing my palms to stop sweating.

I wasn’t sure why, but this woman before me made me nervous. She held herself upright as though nothing could ever bring her down. She was strong despite her thin figure. I had been perfectly fine seeing her as my doctor, in her place of work. Now, I wasn’t so sure about this.

Talking with her one on one was a little bit nerve wracking now that I sat here.

“You don’t have to be nervous,” Kenna said, her voice smooth and controlled to try to bring me out of my worry somewhat. “I didn’t force you to meet me here.”

Of course, she didn’t. Zachariah had stated that talking to Kenna would be a good thing. Just getting out of the house would be good for me, despite my unwillingness to do so. I wasn’t the social type of person, though. I would be happy enough just staying at home and doing hardly nothing. Although, doing nothing was starting to get boring. I had been used to keeping myself busy with school work and church affairs. Now, not so much.

“I know,” I sighed out, letting go of my cup and placing my hands in my lap. My knee bounced up and down, luckily not causing any sound while doing so.

“Alright,” Kenna replied. “I’m not going to ask you why you agreed to come, as this clearly wasn’t your idea to meet me here and that’s okay.”

“You’re not upset that I’m…not sure if this is the right thing to do?” I asked, stumbling over my words as I spoke.

Stupid nerves.

“No,” Kenna laughed lightly. “You don’t seem the type to back down on anything, least of all something your Dom would mention to you.”

“He’s not my Dom,” I said, quickly shaking my head.

“He is a Dom, and just because he doesn’t take that role in your life yet, he’s still one,” Kenna said. “But in a sense, he is your Dom either way. He makes sure that you come first in everything he does. And that necklace is a statement that he is, in fact, your Dom.”

“I thought that was just for…the bedroom stuff,” I muttered, confused.

“He’s hardly explained anything,” Kenna nearly growled out. “Okay, here’s the deal. I’ll talk; you listen. Afterward, if you have any questions I’ll answer.” She folded her arms on top of the table, her drink forgotten.

“Okay,” I said, my mouth forming an O. I wondered what I had just gotten myself into.

“As you know, I am a Domme. I like taking control, but it’s much more than that. Any Dominate in this case, always makes sure that the submissive is well taken care of. Not just sexually, but also mentally and physically,” she began.

“I’m sure that Zachariah makes sure you are healthy inside and out by eating correctly, exercising, and getting enough sleep. He takes care of you in every way that he possibly can. It does take time for any Dom to learn how a sub behaves and reacts to different situations. We have to tread lightly in everything we do, learning the reactions of those that are subs.”

“For some, it comes more naturally. Like you, for instance, probably automatically know when Zach uses a certain tone with you when he talks, and you react to it. Think of the difference between how a parent talks to a child when they are in trouble, or with love. It’s the same, in a way.

“With both of our jobs, we have to read facial reactions and how someone holds themselves. That’s how we know what to say, or even how to move. Doms care deeply and like to take as much stress away from the sub as possible.

“Don’t get me wrong, the sub has total control over the relationship. Subs, like you, even if you are not using that name as what you are, can put a stop to everything with a simple word. It’s all about your needs, wants, and desires. The Dom will do anything to make sure that everything is to your liking.

“Yes, the Dom may state his own needs and wants, but yours are always at the forefront of his mind. You always come first. Am I making sense so far?”

“Sure?” I blinked. I sort of was grasping it all, but it was so much to take in. I knew some things, but knew that there was still so much more to it all than just the sexual aspect of it. So much more.

“Let me ask you this—what do you like from Zach on a normal day to day basis?” Kenna asked, her voice turning motherly towards me.

I opened my mouth to answer, but stopped, thinking over the question. I knew she meant more than what was seen on the surface. So, what did I like that Zachariah did almost every day? I couldn’t name just one thing; it was impossible.

“He takes the time at the end of the day to listen. Not just out of responsibility to do so, but because he really cares about how my day went,” I finally answered. I still second guessed myself on if that was the right answer or not.

“Other than that being him, that is one of the many things that a Dom should do, no matter if it’s in the relationship you two are in or not,” Kenna spoke, seemingly happy with my response. “Communication is always the biggest issue when it comes to any relationship, though. Anything else that you can think of?”

“Well, everything,” I laughed awkwardly. I placed my hands back to my now lukewarm cup of cocoa.

“I’ve had subs that have been easy to please, and others not so much. Sometimes, two people are able to click right away. Like you and Zach. You two may not have a normal relationship, even compared to vanilla couples, but you two are meant for each other,” Kenna smiled, putting me at ease.

“Did he explain why he collared you?” Kenna asked.

“Not really. Just that he wanted to show the world I was his,” I laughed out in an answer.

“I swear, that man is gonna dig his own grave,” she muttered out. Louder, “Collaring not only shows that someone cares, but also to show other Doms that you are off limits. It doesn’t matter what your relationship is, but no other Dom can touch you without being punished. Doms have rules we should respectfully follow too. Respect always goes both ways.

“I’m always here if you want to talk about anything and maybe we can have Travis and Zach tag along sometime. I think it would really do you some good.”

“Yeah, Zachariah said the same thing,” I muttered.

“Of course he would,” Kenna stated with amusement. She paused, taking a sip of her drink before speaking again. “So, when should I expect you in to get another depo shot? You needed one a few weeks ago.”

I had totally spaced getting another shot with everything had been going on. It felt like a lifetime ago when I had gotten one when in reality was a few months.

“That would certainly be one of your husband’s wishes,” Kenna stated. “Give my office a call tomorrow and I’ll get you in as soon as possible. Of course, I’ll have to do a blood test to make sure that you aren’t pregnant, but certainly Zachariah would have used protection anyway. He’s known to use it, no matter if you are on birth control or not.”

My cheeks flushed red as I ducked my head. “No,” I answered.

“Oh,” Kenna said, surprised. “Alright then.”

Was she at a loss for words? Was she thinking I could be pregnant? Or was she just surprised my husband was acting like a normal man when it came to woman things? Or was it all combined.

“I know we aren’t in the office, but when was your last period?” she asked.

I looked up at her, seeing her curb her reaction. Apparently, I made Zachariah do stupid things, but really, it wasn’t just me that made him do that, surely.

“Um…I don’t really know. With the depo shot, my periods weren’t happening,” I answered, thinking hard.

“That’s normal,” Kenna said. “I’d like to do a blood test and get you on some sort of birth control by the end of the week if possible. With you being late for your next dose, it’s possible you could be and you should tell Zachariah.”

Was it possible that I was pregnant? I didn’t think I could be that easily, could I?

“What if I am?” I asked, my voice stronger than I thought it would be.

“There are options,” Kenna answered. “But they don’t need to be worried about right now. Just come in tomorrow, alright?”

“Sure,” I replied, not sure if I would be going in or not. I wasn’t sure I wanted to know the outcome.
