Missing Pieces: A White Creek Novel (The White Creek Series Book 1) by Tori Fox (27)

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Business at the diner has been booming since the facelift. It’s been two weeks, and me and Ivy feel like we’ve been running in circles. Business has almost doubled and people from all over the county are coming in to eat at The Scrambled Egg. Ivy has even been thinking about buying billboard space so passersby on the highway will come into town for a bite. I am all for the idea because that will help both the diner and the bar, and it will put extra cash in my pocket too.

But Ivy and I can’t handle the diner alone anymore. Trace’s cousin, Dan, just moved back into town so we were able to get him on the grill to help out Luke and Rusty. Ivy had a few interviews for new servers and they’ve all been mediocre at best. She has one more interview today and I am hoping for the best because Easton gets back into town tomorrow after being gone on his monthly trip to visit Raelynn.

I give the last table their check as Ivy emerges from the back room with a quiet redhead following behind her. “Harper you are one lucky bitch!”

I cringe as I glance back at the table behind me as one of the kids asks their mom what a bitch is. Great, Ivy, there goes my tip. Luckily the little boy’s sister responds, “That’s what Daddy calls Mommy all the time.” I try to hold back a laugh and end up releasing a muffled snort. The mom throws cash on the table with a look of embarrassment on her face as she rushes her kids out the door. “Geez Ivy you could have waited ‘til there were no kids around.”

“Meh, they’ll forget about it in ten minutes. My kids haven’t picked up on my swearing. Yet.”

“That you know of,” I snort.

“True. Anyway, let me introduce you to our newest hire, the reason you are a lucky bitch and are free to get your humpin’ on tomorrow. Meet Ariel.”

“Ariel? Are you for real?” I ask as I ignore her sex comment.

“Gosh, Harper she is standing right here, don’t make fun of her name. It’s too bad her parents named her after a mermaid as it is.”

The woman starts giggling before introducing herself. “Hi, I’m Anna May. But you can just call me Anna. Only my momma calls me Anna May.” She reaches her hand out to me and we shake.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Harper, but I’m sure you got that over Ivy’s screaming.” Ivy shoves my shoulder and I wince in humor. “You new to town?”

“Yeah, I just moved in a week ago.”

“Cool. Seems that Ivy here just loves to hire the out of towners.”

She scowls at me but responds, “It’s good for business. Fresh meat.”

We both laugh, and I am sure we’re making Anna uncomfortable.

“Well, Anna thanks so much for comin’ in. We’ll both see you tomorrow at ten a.m. after the morning rush so we can get you acquainted with the diner.” Ivy waves her goodbye as she walks out the door.

“You think she’ll be good?” I ask as I clean up the table that just left.

“Absolutely. She has moved around a lot in the last few years, but she had some great references and she seems to have her head on her shoulders.” Ivy helps wipe down a few tables as we finish up the closing duties. “And now you don’t have to feel guilty about me giving you a few days off to bang the heck out of Easton!”

I stop mid-wipe down. “Please do not tell me you just hired some random girl just so I can hang out with my boyfriend.”

“Your boyfriend you haven’t seen in a week!” She starts putting chairs up on the table. “I can tell you need a good lay.”

I throw my towel at her, but she catches it. “Besides I know you need to go to Summer’s house to make sure the house is ready for the wedding in two weeks. You’ve been pulling double duty between the two. You need a break.”

I yawn as I slump into a chair. Not realizing how tired I’ve been. “I guess you’re right. But I don’t know how much of a break it will be if I’m bangin’ my boyfriend the whole time.”

She throws the towel back at me and laughs as we continue closing the diner.

It is scorching hot today. I feel like I have sweat off the little bit of makeup I put on as I serve patrons at the diner. Anna did a great job during training and she’s practically a natural in the serving industry. I tap my foot impatiently waiting for one o’clock to hit. I have no idea why I am so anxious to see Easton besides the fact I haven’t seen him in a week. It might have to do with my revelation a few weeks ago, but I pretend it’s not. This entire week he has been gone has made me think more about our relationship and how happy I truly am. Despite the fact he has been gone we’ve talked every night and maybe even had a bit of phone sex once.

Alright twice.

That’s what I’m blaming my anxiety on, the fact that I just want to touch him in person so much.

“You know a watched clock doesn’t move faster.”

I turn my head to Ivy and mock her. “I am pretty sure the correct phrase is ‘a watched pot never boils’ and as far as I can see I ain’t starin’ at any pot.”

She guffaws. “Did my little city girl really just use the word ‘ain’t’? Well, heavens to Betsy there is hope for you yet.” She walks away with an order and I go back to looking at the clock.

Forty-five more minutes.

I give my last table their check and rush toward the bathroom to change into Easton’s favorite shorts. Well, what I believe will be his new favorite shorts. I took a page out of Ivy’s scissor-happy book and cut up another old pair of jeans into shorts that I bet could pass for underwear. I slip on a loose-fitting tank and slide into my boots before throwing my work clothes into my bag.

As I open the door, Ivy is standing outside with cash in her hand and a to-go container of food. “Here you are missy. The tip from your last table that I so kindly got change for while you decided to…” She trails off as she looks at my outfit. “Well shit. I don’t need ears to now hear what kinda lunch you plan on deliverin’ him.”

I brush past her and toss the clothes bag in the office. “I believe I am delivering a BLT with extra crispy fries and a side salad.”

“I have no doubt he’ll be tossing your salad,” she exclaims a bit too loudly. I rush to cover her mouth with my hand.

“I think I need to teach Anna how to keep your mouth shut while I’m gone.”

She pushes my hand away and retorts, “Sweetie, my mouth is only this bad when you’re around.”

We both stare and each other and simultaneously say, “No it ain’t.”

She pushes me toward the door, “Go deliver that lunch before it gets cold, although his real lunch is probably gettin’ warmer.” I roll my eyes at her as she continues, “Enjoy your two days off. Don’t work those thighs too hard!”

The door slams behind me as I take a deep breath of humid air. Ivy and her damn mouth. Now the whole town is going to know what I am up to. Of course, the Sergeants would probably find out somehow anyway. I walk across the street and toward Easton’s shop grateful I did wear these shorts because I can already feel the sweat dripping down my back as I walk the two minutes across the street.

The door chimes as I walk in and I see Mort at the front desk. “Hiya Harper, East is back in the garage finishin’ up a vehicle. You can go back there if you want or just wait in his office.”

“Thanks, Mort,” I say as I walk toward the garage. I get a bit self-conscious when I see two other guys working besides Easton whom I can’t seem to find. One of the guys lets out a long whistle and my cheeks flood with embarrassment. I look to my right to see who it was when I feel a hand roughly grab my arm and drag me toward the back office. I barely make it through the door before the food is ripped from my hands and tossed toward the desk landing with a thump on the floor. I am shoved hard against the door at the same time the blinds are drawn shut and the door is locked. A hard body is pressed against mine as his sweet voice whispers into my ear, “What in God’s name are you wearing?”

“Hi to you too,” I manage to squeak out as Easton trails his tongue down my neck. I try to get another word out, but his hands are in my hair as he presses his hips into mine, his erection hitting my stomach and his tongue is halfway down my throat. I moan in pleasure at his roughness. I try to grab on to his body, but he grabs my hands and pins my wrist above my head.

“You.” Kiss. “Look.” Kiss. “Good.” Kiss. “Enough” Kiss. “To.” Kiss. “Eat.”

“Then eat me.” I don’t even know where the words come from because it is so unlike me. Easton growls as he lifts me by the hips and carries me over to his desk. He pushes a bunch of papers off with one giant sweep as he sets me down. I wrap my legs around his hips as he towers over me and pushes me farther down on the desk. He trails kisses down my chest as he works the button open on my shorts. Within seconds he has them off. I hear a rip and then his mouth is on my clit, sucking hard. I groan his name as he devours my sweetness. The unexpected pleasure hits me hard as he shoves two fingers deep inside of me. I am practically screaming as he fucks me with his tongue and fingers. My entire body tingles with electricity, every synapse is bursting in my body and I have trouble collecting my thoughts. Just when I think I am about to come, he pulls his fingers out of me and I whimper from the loss.

I open my eyes to look at him and just as I do he slams his hard cock into me all the way to the brink. “Oh my fucking god,” I scream as my orgasm hits me with an intensity I have never felt before. White floods my vision and I think the ends of my hair feel the pleasure coursing through my body.

“This is about as close to fucking God as you’ll get, sweet cheeks,” he says as he grabs my ass and pulls me closer to him and he gets deeper than he’s ever been before. I have lost all sense of time and space as he slams into me over and over. I try to gain purchase on anything on the desk, but there is nothing to hold on to as my entire body convulses in pleasure. I open my eyes to see Easton staring at me and I stare right back, intensifying the moment. Just when I think he is about to come, he slows down and crushes his lips into mine. I groan and grasp at his hair as he picks up the pace. Another orgasm starts to build, and he shifts his body just slightly and I am seeing white lights again as his own climax hits. He collapses on top of me and feathers kisses all over my face and neck. I try to remember how to breathe but give up because I don’t think it’s possible.

He nuzzles his face into the side of my neck. “I missed you.”

I giggle at his statement. We have barely spoken a word to each other, just let our body’s do the talking. But his statement sent tremors through my heart. “I missed you too.”

He pulls back and smiles at me. That rare smile he only gives when he is truly happy. I brush his hair out of his face and cup his cheek. I am too scared to speak the words in my heart, but I hope my eyes say enough. His smile fades and he brings his lips back to mine in a gentle kiss before pulling me up to a sitting position on his desk. He’s still inside of me and that small movement makes his dick stir again. I give him a smirk and he gives me a full-bodied laugh before we go at it again.

“I think I may have destroyed your underwear. I was a little excited,” he says as he hands me my shorts and holds my ripped panties in his hand.

I close his fist around them. “Keep them as a souvenir.”

He scoops me up into his arms and says, “Baby, I’d rather keep you as a souvenir.”

I blush as I pull my shorts on.

“Maybe next time you shouldn’t wear those shorts to the shop. You’re lucky I got you into the office in time.”

I laugh at him and pick up the smashed lunch container off the ground. “I think your lunch might have been a casualty of the shorts.”

“Edy, my lunch was delicious. You were just what I ordered,” he responds as he wraps his arm around me and presses his lips to my forehead.

I push him off me and walk toward the office door. “What do you say we go back to my place, have a real lunch and then do that all over again?”

He grabs my hand as we walk out and winks. “I think we should do that all over again and then have lunch.”
