CHAPTER 5

Hunter

Church was called that night, and I just about made it in time after dropping off Marco, for the meeting at the bar. When I entered, everyone was already gathered around, with Axel sitting on a bar stool in the center.

I weaved through the crowd of my brothers in arms, and made my way towards Gunner, Tank and Glock who were standing facing Axel.

“You’re late, Axel’s noticed,” Tank told me when I joined them. They had no idea where I had been all day, and obviously had no way of knowing the effect that Kylie Aston had on me. I was still reeling from the after-effects of having met her, of speaking to her. My cock was still on full alert.

“The pussies will wait, Axel will not,” Glock said with a laugh and thumped my back. I felt my muscles stiffen when he said it. He had no idea what he was talking about. He had no way of knowing how my mind was obsessing over just one pussy - Kylie’s. And it wasn’t just her body; I was still thinking about her laugh and the way she looked away from me with her cheeks flushed. Her freckles. I had to be going insane!

Axel clinked his signet ring on the bottle of beer in his hands and a quiet hush fell down. Church was about to start and we were all prepared to listen to our leader in silence.

“I called Church today to discuss the Dark Knights,” he said and threw us a knowing look.

“It’s over for them, Axel,” Glock spoke up and looked about him with an enthusiastic grin on his face. Axel nodded his head while a few others exchanged celebratory high-fives.

“For now, yes, but it won’t be for long. They’re going to look for vengeance. They’re not just going to disappear in silence when we destroyed their prostitution ring,” Axel continued and everyone fell silent again.

“They’ve been quiet for some time now,” Tank was the one who spoke now and Axel shrugged his shoulders.

“That doesn’t mean anything. In the meantime, we can’t be waiting around like a bunch of sitting fucking ducks, hoping that they don’t retaliate,” Axel said.

“How do we prepare ourselves for a retaliation?” I asked and Axel looked me directly in the eye.

“That is the exactly kind of question I want you boys to ask me. We have our first shipment of firepower coming in tomorrow,” Axel replied, speaking to me directly now and I nodded my head. I was pleased with the direction this meeting was taking. I’d been tired of sitting around and drinking ourselves to death. Just as Axel had said, I wanted to get up and get going; to prepare ourselves for a retaliation from the Dragon Knights. We all knew it was coming, and we could only hope that it would come later rather than sooner.

However, if Axel had already arranged for a shipment of firearms for our MC; it would mean that we would be well prepared. The Dragon Knights were already trading weapons, this way we would have the same strength as them.

“And in case any of you are wondering; with this first shipment, we will have more firepower than those assholes already do. There are four more on their way,” Axel continued and a collective cheer rang around the bar. Gunner and I exchanged looks and we nodded our heads at each other. He and I had discussed this already. We were on the same page as Axel.

“Gunner, Hunter and Tank; I want you boys to meet with our new associates. The weapons need to get safely into our warehouse,” Axel added and we nodded our heads at him.

“Long Beach?” Gunner clarified and Axel confirmed it.

“When is it due to arrive?” I asked, speaking through the frenzied chatter that had erupted in the bar now. I was conscious of taking Marco to the VA the next day. Our appointment with Kylie was at four.

“Two,” Axel replied and I tried to cover up the relief flooding my face. If I had to choose, I’d choose the MC over Marco and Kylie but I didn’t want to have to be in a position to choose. I was desperate to see that woman again. I was beginning to feel hungry for her already.

I heard the sound of bottles of beer clinking together. Someone had already started passing them around. When Tank handed one to me, I chugged the beer down thirstily because I needed something to numb my thoughts about Kylie.

“Steady on cowboy!” Tank laughed as he passed me another one. I started guzzling this one down as well. Anything to make me forget that I had met Kylie that day. The last thing I wanted to do was acknowledge the fact that a woman had a strange reaction on me. My brothers didn’t need to know that. Nobody needed to know that except me. Axel closed our church session and the rest of the MC started to gather around the bar.

I followed the others to our usual table and sat down, preparing myself for another night of mad drinking. I didn’t know yet how many beers it would take for me to forget about Kylie and her gorgeous body, so I kept drinking.

By the time it was midnight, I was laughing too hard and cheering too loud with my brothers. I could still sense Kylie’s presence in the back of my head, a burning desire for her body. That was probably what kept me away from Jessica and all the other chicks that night, but I was glad that I had decided to drink myself to sleep.

Eventually, just like the others, I passed out at the table with a beer in my hand sometime in the early hours of the morning. And thankfully, it was a blank deep sleep and I didn’t fantasize about Kylie. At least not till I woke up the next morning.
