Surrendering My Affection: Sulfur Springs Book 4 by Taylor Rylan (17)

Cody — 17

The man had an ass to die for. You know that phrase about bouncing quarters off an ass? Yeah, that was Adrian’s. It was round and firm, and I loved to grab it when I was fucking him. Or stare at it when he was walking around, naked or clothed. Either way worked because it was…perfect.

I quickly changed into my own pair of athletic shorts and left the bedroom to find Adrian lying on the sectional. I did the only logical thing, and that was to climb on top of him and let out a deep sigh of relief. I’d missed this. Somehow, after only a few dates and one really hot night, I’d become attached to Adrian Fisher.

“Everything okay, baby?”

“Just peachy. Work is busy but hopefully things will sort themselves out soon. We’re working a three-on, three-off schedule, and there are only four of us that bake, but it’s working, so that’s a plus.”

“I haven’t talked to Emme much about it, but if it’s too much, be sure to say something. I don’t want you getting hurt because you’re overworked.” Adrian ran his hands up and down my back, causing me to moan and wiggle, not unlike a dog or cat that was being petted.

“I will, but it’s early still and I know they’ll get things sorted. They just take some time. It was the same with Rhett and Son of a Biscuit when he first started it. Things are crazy until everything’s sorted. We’ll get there though. That’s why I wanted to stay in. A relaxing weekend sound like heaven.”

“Then in we stay. Baby, I know it’s really early in the ‘us’ part of you and me, but do you see us working? Or at least, the possibility of it?” Adrian asked.

“Well, we’ve only been on a few dates, but we talk all the time and I’d like to think we’ve gotten to know each other fairly well. I like you, you like me—hopefully that’s a start to something that’s lasting.”

“I’d like to think so. But I need to know if I should push harder or back off. I don’t want to ruin things before they really get a chance to get started. What’s up with your parents?”

“Nothing. They’re just assholes sometimes. For some reason, Mom’s super upset Evie got married and is moving. I’m not sure why though because Wyatt and I did more babysitting than Mom ever did. And Evie has been bonkers for Marco since high school. Mom will get over it and be nice and sweet for a week and then go back to being a bitch.”

I felt Adrian’s chest rumble, and the laugh he tried to hold in escaped. I pushed up and looked down at him with a raised eyebrow.

“It’s just funny the way you said it. Almost as if it’s simply how you describe her all the time.”

“Oh it is. I’m not the only one either. My parents had us really young, and I think they’re over the whole ‘we have kids’ thing.”

“I don’t understand that, but it’s okay. Speaking of kids…”

“Yes?”

“You looked cute today while holding Heidi.”

“No, don’t even.” I pushed up again and this time glared down at Adrian. “No. I only looked good with Heidi because she’s adorbs and we can give her back. I would not look good with a kid in the middle of the night when they woke us up. Or when we’re in the middle of a blowjob or something.”

“Okay, that’s a good point. I was simply saying that you looked good holding your niece.”

I had to laugh at Adrian. I didn’t quite understand him at times, but I was so glad I’d taken a chance with him.

“So, what are the plans for today?” I asked as I flopped back down on top of him.

“Well, if you keep squirming like you are, you’re going to get me hard, and then we’ll spend all day in bed, fucking like rabbits.”

“Mmm, that doesn’t sound like a bad way to spend the day.”

Adrian chuckled, which let me know that wasn’t how we were going to spend it. Pity.

“I thought we’d maybe…I don’t know, watch TV? Take a nap? Cook dinner? Play pool?”

“How about all of the above? What do you normally do during the weekend? It’s so rare for me to have an entire one off, so I’m not sure what to do.”

“We can certainly make sure we do them all. I know you said you wanted to stay in, so are there any movies you wanted to see or anything like that?”

“Not really. I used to hang out with Hawke and Tristan more, but now I usually play Xbox, but that’s about it.”

“I have an Xbox down in the basement. We could go play it if you’d like.”

I pushed myself up from Adrian again and glared down at him. “You have a basement? How did I not know that?”

“Baby, most people have a basement here. But yeah, I turned it into a media and game room. The pool table didn’t fit, so that’s why it’s up here.”

“Okay, we need to—” I was cut off by the doorbell ringing, making me groan as I flopped down onto the couch as Adrian maneuvered his way out from under me. Damn.

“Baby?” I sat up and peeked over the couch. The person standing beside Adrian definitely wasn’t Bishop. No, he was an older version of Adrian, so it had to be his dad. Well, shit. At least when Adrian met my parents today he was fully dressed. I, on the other hand, was wearing shorts and nothing else. I got up from the couch and hesitantly walked over to my very uncomfortable boyfriend.

“You can’t be serious, Adrian. He’s young enough to be your kid.” I flinched at the comment and looked down.

“I’ll just go get dressed,” I said while trying to run away.

“No. You’ll do no such thing. This is our home, not his. He made it abundantly clear years ago when I married David that they didn’t approve of who I was. Which is why I’m surprised to even see him here. What are you doing here?”

“Your mom wanted to see Emme and the kids, so we drove down.”

I giggle snorted at that. I’d heard all about Emme’s mom and dad. Yeah, no, that probably wasn’t happening. I held up a finger and gestured, and Adrian finally let me walk to the bedroom where I retrieved my phone. I started texting Emme as I walked back out to the living room. Although I really didn’t have to because I could hear the conversation from in the bedroom.

Me: Heads up. Your parents are here. Your dad just showed up at Adrian’s.

Emme: Fuck. Is Mom with him?

Me: Not that I see. If she is, she’s in the car. But apparently, I’m young enough to be Adrian’s kid, so yeah, your dad definitely doesn’t like me.

Emme: Asshole. Both of them. They’ve never seen the kids in person. Thanks. I’m giving Julia a heads-up. Maybe she can take them somewhere.

Me: There’s always Walker’s. Doesn’t she have a room there?

Emme: Yes! Thanks! TTYL.

Me: Bye.

I looked up from my phone when the arguing stopped. “I’m sorry, what was your name? Oh yeah, according to your daughter, it’s asshole,” I said as I held up my phone and waved it around.

“Baby, did you warn Emme?” Adrian asked while trying to not laugh.

“Well, you know, since she’s kinda my boss and I’m fucking her brother, I figured I owed it to her to let her know your parents were in town. She doesn’t seem pleased.”

I watched as Adrian’s dad’s face turned so red it was almost purple.

“Don’t even think it. It’s time for you to leave. I suggest you and your wife just go back home. You two have nobody to blame but yourselves.” I watched as indecision played across his dad’s face as Adrian gestured toward the door. In the end, he gave up and left, which was relieving. The thundercloud that came back to me after seeing him out, though, that wasn’t a relief, and I wondered if this would put a damper on the mood for the weekend.

“Give me a few. I need to call Emme.”

“Take your time. I can leave if you want. We can spend time together another time if you’re—” I was yanked into Adrian’s body, and my mouth was devoured. There was no other way for it to be described. Adrian owned that kiss, and when his tongue forced its way into my mouth, I didn’t even consider denying it. I reached up and grabbed Adrian’s hair and gave it a good tug as he grabbed my ass and squeezed.

Fuck I wanted him. But I wanted him in ways I’d never known I could want someone. I had never felt like this before, and I realized I was quickly falling harder for Adrian than I had anticipated. I’d seen it happen to first Hawke, then Tristan, and I knew the signs. I knew what was happening. But would he feel the same? He’d talked like he wanted us long-term, but he’d never outright said so.

When Adrian pulled back from the kiss, I could tell my lips were swollen and quite possibly bruised a little by the sting in them. His looked just as abused, and I had to smile to myself about that.

“Damn, baby. I want you.”

“I want you, too. But you said you had to call Emme, remember?”

“Who?”

I chuckled, hoping he was kidding, but I’d definitely strut if he was even somewhat serious.

“Yeah, okay. I still want you though.”

“Later?”

“Absolutely,” Adrian said as he turned and walked to the bedroom to get his phone. I caught a glimpse of his erection in the shorts that hid nothing, and I could certainly sympathize as I looked down at my own tented shorts. Maybe I should have left my briefs on? Once again, I stared at Adrian’s ass as he walked away. Later. Definitely later.

I went back to the couch and sat down, waiting for Adrian to come back and join me. I didn’t have long to wait because he came back with the phone still up to his ear. He sat down and gave me a tug, so I lay down and put my head in his lap. Damn, he definitely liked to cuddle and he was always touching me if he was near. I didn’t think I would like it so much, I certainly haven’t in the past, but with Adrian, everything was different.

I did my best to ignore his conversation, but if he truly wanted it to be private, he would have made the call in the other room. I was almost lulled to sleep as Adrian sat and absently ran his fingers through my hair while talking to his sister. I could tell she was pissed, but I didn’t blame her. Not even a little.

Once they said their goodbyes, Adrian tossed his phone onto the ottoman and looked down at me.

“There’s a story there, but you don’t have to share it.”

“It’s not difficult to share. You know Emme is my half sister. But her mom never really took to me. Jennifer wasn’t mean or anything; it was just noticeable that she didn’t care for me at times. When I came out as gay, she flipped her shit. She didn’t want a gay man around her little girl. I was already gone by then, but it didn’t seem to matter.” Adrian ran one hand down the side of my face while he kept the other in my hair, massaging my scalp. If nothing else, it seemed to calm and soothe him.

“How old were you?”

“Twenty-three. I married David a year later.”

“So Emme was thirteen?”

“Twelve or thirteen. I can’t remember if it was before or after her birthday. But they kept me away from her for five long years. I adored her from the moment she was born, and they just kept her away from me.” There was sorrow in Adrian’s eyes, but he was smiling, which confused me.

“Then one day, out of the blue, she showed up on the doorstep of David’s and my townhouse in DC. She’d just graduated high school and ran away on a bus. I tried my best to be pissed at her and lecture her about the dangers of taking the bus, but I couldn’t. I was too happy to see her again.”

“Yeah? How’d that go?”

“David was cool with it. He knew the story. My ex isn’t a bad guy. We just grew apart. I was still trying to go up through the ranks, and he wanted more attention. He found it with Ken.”

“So what happened after Emme showed up?”

“I put her through college. Our parents cut her off when she ran away and came to me. She went to college, got a business degree, fell in love, and had Addie and Josh. As far as I know, they’ve never seen the kids. Emme found out her ex was sending them pictures, and that pissed her off. Then she found out he was doing drugs, and she was out. She got him to give up all rights so they wouldn’t have to be around any of that shit if they had to visit.”

“I knew a little about it, but I’ve never come out and asked. It wasn’t my place.”

“She doesn’t mind sharing the story. She divorced him when Josh was only two. She kept her job in Montana until I told her about the resort down here. She jumped at the chance to be away from the ex and closer to me.”

I nodded but had to fight to keep my eyes open. I wanted nothing more than to close them and let Adrian’s talented fingers put me to sleep. But that wasn’t really an option. Not with what just happened.

“So now that your dad has thrown a wrench in things, what do you want to do?”

“I wouldn’t necessarily say that. But I will this: you look tired, baby. Why don’t we go take a nap? We can see what we want to do when we wake up.”

“I’m not sure why I’m so tired. I don’t stay up late.”

“It doesn’t matter why you are or aren’t tired. Since it’s just the two of us, we can take a nap, so why not?”

Honestly, I really liked that idea, so I got up and tugged Adrian to the bedroom. I dropped my shorts on the floor and crawled onto the bed naked before pulling the blanket up to my waist.

“That’s not fair, baby,” Adrian said as he gestured to his visibly chubby cock.

“It’s completely fair. It saves time later after we’ve had a nap. Now there’s nothing in the way when we wake up.”

Adrian pushed down his own shorts, and the jock he was wearing was made of mesh, which left nothing to the imagination.

“Leave it. That’s hot as fuck,” I said as he started to take it off. He smirked before crawling into bed and snuggling up beside me. In no time, the scent and sounds of Adrian beside me once again relaxed me so much I quickly fell asleep.
