The Bad Boy's Good Girl by Kylie Knight (96)

Unexpected Fling

Monica Cambridge was new to Los Angeles, she had moved here only a few weeks ago when she’d finally decided that she had had enough of her parents telling her what to do. Her parents had raised her in a small town in Georgia, and they had always been a big factor in her life; all of her decisions were really their decisions. Like where she went to college, what she was allowed to wear, what boys she was allowed to date. Monica had always wanted to be a screenwriter, writing scripts for TV and film, but when she’d told her parents about her dreams of writing famous movies, they had told her to look into a more realistic career choice and pushed her into Journalism at the Georgia State University.

Behind her parents’ backs, Monica had signed up for a few screenwriting courses in her second year, and she’d really enjoyed them. She had never had any desire to be a journalist, and after she had finished her first year, she thought branching out and taking a few courses of something that she was actually passionate about was a great idea. After Monica had finished her second year at Georgia State University, she decided that instead of going back home to live with her parents, that she would pack up and moved to LA on a whim. It was a sudden decision that she had made all on her own, and it was kind of scary being alone in a big city like LA, so far away from home.

Of course, she wasn’t entirely alone; her friend Scarlett from high school had moved out here a few years ago, almost right after they had graduated, so that she could pursue an acting career. Scarlett had always been more outgoing and spontaneous, not caring what others thought of her and always finding her own way through life, creating her own path and her own luck. Monica had always admired Scarlett for her ability to live her life how she wanted to, and one day after when Scarlett called Monica from LA to tell her about a new audition that she landed for the following week, Monica congratulated her and then sighed, telling Scarlett that she wished she could be more like Scarlett and just go after her dreams.

So Scarlett said, “Why don’t you come out here then? You could take your scripts and shop them around to studios Monica, you could really do it!” At first Monica had laughed, but the more she thought about it over the next few days, the more she realized that she could just head out there. She could easily just pack up her car, bring her laptop and her scripts and drive out to LA. The drive would probably take her about 35 hours, and she could stop overnight somewhere along the way. A few days passed and Monica had made up her mind, she was going for it.

Monica called up Scarlett and told her the plan. “I’m going to do it Scarlett, I’m going to head out the right after my exams!”

“Really?! I can’t wait to see your pretty face! It’s been ages! You are going to love it here!” Scarlett was super excited, they had been friends for a long time and Scarlett was always a positive person in Monica’s life.

“I can’t wait to see you too! What should I bring?”

“Just bring yourself and your scripts and let’s both get famous! LA is the city of dreams Monica! I have to run, I have a rehearsal in twenty minutes, but I am really looking forward to you being here! When do your exams finish?”

“In three weeks, and then I’m just going to pack up my car and drive away from Georgia!” Monica flushed with excitement at the thought of being free, free from her overbearing parents and their control and free from the small town she had lived in all her life.

“Fabulous! I’ll email you my address and I expect to have you knocking on my door in three weeks Monica, no backing down! You need this. Love you, gotta run.”

“OK, Love you!” Monica clicked the phone off and imagined herself in LA in less than a month’s time. It was so exhilarating to think that she might be able to sell a script to a movie producer. Maybe Scarlett even had some connections, she thought.

The last three weeks of school had flown by and before she knew it, she was writing her final exam. Monica had never been more excited about anything in her life. She had planned it all out and was leaving as soon as she finished writing the exam, she wasn’t even going to stick around to wait for her final grades to be announced. Her car was packed with everything she needed, and all that was left to do was go home, tell her parents that she was leaving for the summer and then drive away.

The drive from Georgia to LA was going to take her two days to do, and she had decided that she would find a motel along the way and crash there for a night and then take off again in the morning. Monica planned on driving about 15–18 hours each day and arriving in LA at Scarlett’s house at 9:00pm on Sunday. She could barely focus on answering the questions in her exam as she fantasised about arriving in LA. She finished quicker than she normally would and walked up to her professor, handing it in and then bolting for her car. The drive home seemed to take only a few minutes and before she knew it, she was parked in her driveway, terrified of telling her her parents that she was leaving. Gathering up as much courage as she could, Monica got out of her car and went inside.

“Mom? Dad? You home?” Monica shouted into the quiet house.

“We’re outside by the pool hunny!” Her mom’s cheery voice came from the backyard.

Monica made her way through the house towards the backyard, the sliding glass door for the patio was open, so she went out onto the deck.

“Hi sweetie, how was your last exam?” Her mom was sun tanning beside the pool and her dad was reading a book on the deck, having a beer.

“It went really good.” Monica hesitated before continuing on, “I need to talk to you two.”

“Sure Monica, what is it?” Her dad said, putting his book down on the table.

“Well, I’ve decided that I’m going to go visit Scarlett in LA this summer.” Monica twisted her hands in a fretful way.

“Alone? How are you going to get there?” Her dad was concerned already, just like she’d thought he would be.

“That’s an awfully long way to travel by yourself, and where are you going to get the airfare?” Her mom had gotten up from her lounge chair now and walked over to the deck, to stand beside her father.

“I saved up some money from my part time job and I’m actually going to drive, my car is all packed.” Monica looked at the two of them and decided that no matter what they said next, it was happening, she was leaving.

“Well, you’ve done really well in school and, if your father agrees, I don’t see why you can’t go to visit Scarlett in LA.” Her mom put her hands gently on her father’s shoulders, the way she always did when she was trying to get him to do something that she wanted.

“Really?” Monica was shocked at her mom’s response. “So dad?”

“As long as you’re safe and you leave us Scarlett’s address, I don’t see why not.” Her dad put his hand over top of her mother’s hand where it rested on his shoulder. “You’re twenty-one years old after all, if you want to go away for a bit, as long as you’re safe and you keep in touch with us, we can’t really say no.”

“Awesome! I’m going to head out now then, it’s a long drive. I’ll leave Scarlett’s address on a note on the fridge.” Monica went over and gave each of her parents a big hug and kiss, deciding not to tell them that she was actually going out there for a long time and was planning on looking for work. She could call them in a few weeks and explain it to them over the phone, that would be a lot easier than getting into an argument now.

“You’re leaving now?” Her mom said, quite taken aback.

“Yea, well, Scarlett just wrapped up filming a show and she has some free time to show me around LA and I’m all done exams, so I figured no time like the present!” Monica gave her mom a reassuring smile, “Don’t worry mom, I’ll be fine.”

“Well, OK then. Call us when you get there.” Her mom squeezed her hand and gave her a smile, “Have fun sweetheart.”

“Have fun and be safe.” Her dad said before picking up his book again.

“I will!” Monica headed back inside and quickly scribbled down Scarlett’s address before heading out to her car, she couldn’t wait to be on the road.

Monica made the first few hours of the drive before she even knew what was happening. She was so excited to be on her way to LA that she even ran a few red lights on her way out of town. It was going to be a long drive to LA, longer than any other road trip she’d ever been on, and she was traveling alone this time, so she was a bit worried about being bored during the trip. She had brought a few audio books and her favorite songs were loaded on her iPod so that she could plug it in and play it. Monica’s car was a cute little blue Volkswagen beetle. She had bought it her last year of high school with the money she had saved up from her part time jobs, with a little help from her parents too. She loved this car, it was very versatile and it had an awesome sunroof that opened so far that she almost felt like it was a convertible.

After about 15 hours of driving, with many little stops along the way to sightsee and rest breaks, and even a big lunch at a nice cafe, Monica started looking around for a hotel to sleep at for the night. She was in Texas, near Houston and saw a lot of signs for hotels. There was one called the Marriott and it had a lot of advertising along the highway, so since it was basically directing her how to get to it, Monica made the turn onto the exit and headed towards the Marriott.

When she pulled up, a Valet asked if she would be staying the night, and he parked her car for her, giving her a little ticket to pick it up the next morning. Monica headed into the hotel lobby and saw a big promotional poster set up in the lobby that read,

“Meet the man who wrote “Get Rich, Get into Oil. Christopher Hardy! Reading an excerpt from his bestselling book today in Conference room A.”

Monica had never heard of that book, but the name of the author sounded familiar. There was no picture of him to jog her memory, so she kept walking up to the desk to check in and gave up on trying to remember where she had heard that name before.

“Good evening Miss. Welcome to the Marriott, are you checking in?” A polite man in a uniform said to her as she approached the desk.

“Yes, I don’t have a reservation, but I was hoping to have a room for just one night. I’m driving through town and my eyes are getting very tired!” Monica laughed and smiled.

“Let me see if we have anything available, we’re hosting a big event and a lot of our rooms have been filled up.” The man scrolled through things on his computer screen for a minute or so. “Oh look! You’re in luck. I have one last room available, it’s got a king size bed and it’s a very comfortable suite.”

“King size bed? It’s just me!” Monica thought that sounded expensive.

“I know, but unfortunately that is all we have available right now because of the event tomorrow.” The man looked sadly at her for a second and then smiled, “You know what? How about I give you 10% discount off the room, just because?”

“Just because why?” Monica smiled back at him.

“Just because you are pretty cute and you look very tired and I want to help you out here.” The man laughed.

“Oh, alright then, it’s better than going around trying to find another hotel to stay at, I am already exhausted.” Monica set her purse down on the counter and pulled out her wallet.

“Wonderful! Well, you will get an incredible sleep in that King size bed, it’s extremely comfortable! That will be $229.00 including taxes, after the 10% discount, and I will need to see your driver license please.”

“Wow, $229.00 for one night!”

“Again, I apologize, but it’s the only room we have available right now, and regularly that room goes for $289.00.” The man smiled sadly at her.

“It will have to do.” She opened her wallet and pulled out her Visa and her driver’s license, handing them over to the desk clerk. “Here you are, you can charge it to my Visa please.”

“Certainly, thank you Miss… Cambridge.” The clerk started typing things into his computer and ran her Visa card through the machine.

Monica was looking around the hotel lobby and admiring the artwork that was on display, waiting for the man to charge her credit card for this overpriced room she was about to stay in for the night, and fantasising about the bed and curling up in a little ball and going to sleep for hours.

“Here you are Miss Cambridge,” he said as he handed her back her Visa and Driver’s License, “would you please sign here?” He indicated where she should sign to accept the charges to her Visa. “Wonderful, and here is your room key, you are in the West Tower, just turn right when you exit the lobby behind you and head into the first elevator past the lounge, and you are on the 9th floor, room 908.”

“Thank you so much.”

“My pleasure, and in case you would like a nightcap, our lounge is open until 2:00am.”

“Thank you.” Monica smiled at him and collected her key and her purse and bag, and headed over towards the elevator that he had mentioned.

There was nice, relaxing jazz tunes coming out of the lounge as she went past and she thought that maybe she would come back down and have a nightcap, that would really put her into a deep sleep. She would just head upstairs, drop of her stuff and freshen up, change out of this clothes she’d been stuck in the car for 15 hours wearing and then go down and unwind a bit.

Monica rode the elevator up to the 9th floor and headed down the hallway in the direction of her room, following the little signs posted on walls. She reached room 908 and slipped her key into the door handle, hearing the little ‘beep’ that told her the door was unlocked and then went into the room. It was an absolutely beautiful room. There was a lot of space and she notice that there was even a kitchen tucked in the corner of the room, with a full sized fridge and an oven, the works. Turning the corner, she saw a living room instead of the bed she had been expecting to see and she realized that this was a suite, not just a hotel room. Wow, this is luxurious, she thought to herself, traveling in style!

She walked into the living room and saw a door to the left, opening it wider she walked into a room with a King size bed and two pretty little nightstands on either side. The bed looked incredibly comfortable, so Monica put her bags down on it and kicked off her shoes, flopping herself face-first onto the fluffy soft white sheets. Monica had never been at such a fancy hotel, in fact, she’d never stayed at a hotel alone in her young life. Everything about this trip was exciting to her. Thinking that she should definitely go down and check out the lounge and have a nightcap, as the desk clerk had recommended, Monica pulled herself off the incredibly comfortable bed and opened her bag.

Riffling through it, she found a simple blouse and jeans to wear. Monica went into the bathroom and enjoyed a nice hot shower, keeping her hair up in a shower cap so she wouldn’t have to worry about going through all the hassle of blow drying it. Monica got dressed and put a bit of mascara on and a bit of lipstick, just for fun. She grabbed her purse and headed out of her hotel room, grabbing her room key off the counter on the way out. She got in the elevator and she was tucking her room key into her purse as the elevator door opened, thinking she was at the lobby, Monica walked out without looking up, bumping hard into someone.

“Oh no! Sorry!” Monica exclaimed, startled as she looked up to see who she had walked into.

“That’s quite alright my dear.” The man who she had walked into was incredibly handsome. He flashed an incredible smile of perfect white teeth and his green eyes lit up with the smile, making them twinkle in an intoxicating way. He was wearing a dark grey suit and a blue tie, he had the look of someone very important, someone with money. He had dark brown hair and a clean shaven face, with a lovely olive skin complexion. “It’s my fault, I didn’t expect a beautiful woman to come spilling out of the elevator. Next time I will have to pay more attention when elevator doors open so as not to startle you.”

“Oh… umm… Thank you.” Monica blushed a shade of scarlet as she looked around the floor, not recognizing the floor as the lobby. “Where are we? I was trying to get to the lounge for a nightcap, I’ve had a very long drive.”

“This is the penthouse.” The elevator doors started closing behind her and the man held his arm out to stop the doors from shutting. “The lounge is down on the first floor, but if you’d like, I have a full service bar here. If you’d like company with your nightcap.”

Monica looked at this mysterious man and wondered what she had to lose accepting his offer. She was already here, and she’d never been in a penthouse before. He was also very attractive, and she could use a bit of conversation to help wind her mind down. “Umm, OK. Sure, why not?”

“Wonderful.” The man removed his arm from the elevator door, allowing them to close shut behind her. “Right this way Miss.” The man offered her his elbow in a very distinguished manner of a gentleman. Monica looked at it for a second and then thought it would be rude not to accept it, so she lightly put her hands on his elbow and let him lead her into the penthouse.

They turned out of the hallway and into an expansive room that had a full bar, a beautiful view with big windows, a piano, and a lounge area with big, comfortable looking leather chairs and couches, with marble coffee tables and side tables.

“Oh, wow!” Monica said as she looked around the room.

“It’s nice but it’s nothing special, what are you drinking?” The man asked as he lead her over to the bar, dropping his elbow so she let go of it and he walked around the bar to service the drinks.

“Well, I have never been in a penthouse before, this looks pretty impressive to me!” Monica laughed and leaned against the bar. “I don’t know, I don’t drink much, what are you having?”

“How about a nice glass of Champagne?” The man smiled at her.

“Sure, that would be lovely!”

The man popped open a bottle of champagne and poured two flutes of the sparkling golden liquid. Monica watched as the bubbles slowly dissipated from the top of the glass. He walked around the side of the bar and handed one to her. “So, may I have the pleasure of knowing the name of the beautiful young woman who spilled out of the elevator and right into my penthouse?”

“Monica, my name is Monica. And you?”

“Christopher Hardy. A toast to fate.” Christopher raised his flute of champagne up to Monica’s and they clinked their glasses together.

Monica took a sip of her champagne and wondered why that name sounded so familiar. Christopher started walking over to the lounge chairs and settled himself into one of the supple leather seat, crossing his legs and enjoying a sip from his champagne flute.

“What are you doing here in Texas Monica?” He smiled at her as she settled herself into a chair opposite him.

“I’m just passing through actually, I’m on my way to LA.” Monica felt the buttery smoothness of the champagne and realized that she loved champagne, this one tasted absolutely delicious, the soft bubbles melting her taste buds as she enjoyed another sip. She had had sparkling wine before with her friends, but it had never tasted anything like this. It was always bitter, acidic and dry. This must be a very expensive champagne.

“LA? From where did you come from then?” He was watching her intently.

“I just left my parents house in Georgia, I’m making the drive to go stay with my friend for awhile in LA. She’s an actress.” Monica felt a little shy with the way he was watching her.

“Any big plans for when you get to LA? Aside from visiting your friend?” Christopher took another sip of his champagne, his eyes not leaving Monica’s.

“Well… actually… I want to be a writer. My friend convinced me to drive out there and I brought my scripts with me, she thinks maybe I have a chance of selling one to a production company of something.” Monica suddenly felt very shy, she never really talked to people about her dreams or desires, and this man was a complete stranger.

“A writer? Well, you are talking to the right person Monica! I’m a writer myself in fact.” Christopher raised his glass to her. “To you and your future as a writer.”

Monica raised her glass and smiled the Christopher as she blushed.

“Oh wait… Christopher Hardy? Oh my god, I’m so sorry! Your name, it’s on the display downstairs in the lobby. I can’t believe I didn’t realize…” Monica was a deep shade of scarlet now, embarrassed that she was in the penthouse of a world famous author and business man and had no idea who he was, the man was worth billions of dollars and here she was, just sitting and having a chat with him in his penthouse. Unbelievable… she thought in awe of her dumb luck.

“That’s quite alright, it’s actually very refreshing having someone not recognize me. That’s actually part of the reason I invited you up here, I realized you didn’t know who I was when you didn’t try to jump me in the elevator. There are a lot of crazy woman who come to these events thinking that they can persuade me to marry them or something ridiculous. I blame the tabloids, if they would just stop printing that I am the most eligible bachelor, then maybe these crazy women would back off!” Christopher laughed and then continued, “The other reason that I invited you up is because I was absolutely struck by your beauty.”

Monica blushed and took a sip of her champagne to clear her throat because she was at a loss for words. Finally when she swallowed the sip, she managed to put some words together, “Thank you Christopher, I just feel kind of silly for not knowing who you were…”

“Trust me, it’s more flattering to not be recognized by someone as beautiful and intelligent as you, than to be bombarded by a crowd of money hungry fans.”

“I suppose you’re right, I can’t imagine what that would feel like…” Monica shook her head, wondering what her day to day life would be like if everyone knew her name and wanted something from her. She didn’t think she could handle the pressure or stress of it all.

“Hopefully one day you have the same kind of crazed fans from your writing!” Christopher laughed and shifted his body, uncrossing his legs and re-crossing them in the other direction.

“Oh, I doubt it… I don’t think I’ll actually be able to sell anything…” Monica looked down at the ground, full of self doubt now that she knew she was sitting with a famous author.

“Never say never my dear Monica.” Christopher got up and headed over to the bar, taking the champagne bottle out of the ice bucket where it was chilling, and walked back over to the lounge area. He came over and stood in front of Monica’s chair, she held out her flute for him to pour and as he was pouring the golden fluid into her cup he spoke.

“I have a proposition for you.” He finished filling up her champagne glass and then filled his own, returning the champagne bottle back to it’s ice bucket.

“A proposition?” Monica looked at him with curiosity.

“Yes.” Christopher sat back down in his leather chair and took a sip from his flute, looking at her in the eyes. “I would like to help you get your scripts published and sold. I have connections in the film industry and I would be able to make magic happen for you Monica.”

“Really? Why would you want to do that?” Monica was shocked.

“Because I think you are incredibly beautiful and sweet and innocent Monica, and because I want you.” Christopher was looking at her with husky eyes full of desire.

Monica swallowed and blushed red. “You want me?”

“Yes, I want you. I would propose that we spend the evening together, here. Then when you arrive in LA, I would ask you to come to my home in the Hollywood Hills to spend some time with me there where we would discuss your scripts and go over them together. After that, I will take your scripts to my contacts at Universal Studios and give them a choice of the ones you have finished and ready to go. I can guarantee you that they will pick one and offer you a contract and a price to buy the script. I will get you top dollar for it, let’s say in the ballpark of $500,000.00. Not to mention, you will become an accredited writer overnight, having your first ever script go straight to the big screen.” Christopher paused, assessing Monica’s reaction. “What do you think my dear?”

“That sounds too good to be true…” Monica was amazed at what he was offering her, but she was concerned about what he meant about them spending time together. “What would I have to do for you?” Monica was unable to meet his eyes when she asked the question. “You would have to give yourself to me, sexually. I want to have you Monica. Tonight.” Christopher’s voice was full of sex appeal and lust as he said the words.

“Tonight..?” Monica took a deep breath and raised her gaze so that she was looking into his eyes. “And you will sell my script for $500,000.00? Just for one night with me?”

“Yes.” Christopher’s eyes didn’t falter from their connection with hers.

“OK. I’ll do it.” Monica had no idea where her sudden bravery and confidence was coming from. She felt like another person, in a fantasy world. This didn’t seem real.

“Good. Come with me Monica.” Christopher set his flute down on the coffee table and took hers from her hand, setting it down beside his and taking her hand in his. He led her down another hallway and into a room with an incredibly big four post king sized bed that had an impressive canopy of rich gold fabric hanging down around it.

Monica allowed herself to be led over to the bed and she stood before it as Christopher released her hand.

“I want you to want this. Do you want this?” Christopher placed his hands gently on each of her arms, leaning in close and breathing lightly on her neck, making her skin come alive with the heat of his breath.

“Yes. I want this.” Monica whispered back, knowing that she did want this. He was so handsome and had such an intoxicating sex appeal, she wanted him and she wanted him now.

“Good.” Christopher reached around her and slowly held the back of her neck, tilting her head to the side and kissing the soft curve of her neck softly, his warm breath and soft lips making her entire body come alive with the sensation. It had been a long time since she’d been intimate with someone and her body was aching for his touch on her skin.

Christopher stopped kissing her neck and grabbed her face in his hands, kissing her deeply and passionately. His expert tongue was driving her wild, his kiss was everything she wanted at this exact moment, it was sensual in every way. He ran his hands up behind her head and twisted her hair in his hands, pulling her head back and bringing her face up to his, making the kiss more intense.

She reached up and started running her hands across his body, he was very fit and she could feel his chest and abs through his well fitted suit. She began undoing the buttons of his suit, and loosening his tie from around his neck as he kissed her again and again. Suddenly his hands were on her breast, rubbing them through her blouse, she could feel her nipples instantly become hard as they awakened under his touch. He undid her blouse buttons and pulled her silk blouse back and over her shoulders, exposing her breast in her lace black bra. He let her blouse slip off her shoulders and down her arms, falling lightly to the ground.

Christopher broke the kiss and leaned down on her chest, pulling her bra down from her breast, exposing them to the room. He gently blew on each of her nipples, making them turn even harder. Then he began teasing them with his tongue, darting around the hard tip of her nipples and suckling gently. Monica moaned from the pleasure of it, feeling herself getting wet from the excitement. Christopher took her bra off completely and threw it aside. He used one hand to twist and play with one nipple as he used his tongue to play deliciously with the other, switching back and forth until Monica could feel her wetness soaking through her panties.

“Take off your jeans and lay down on the bed.” Christopher said as he stopped playing with her nipples and began to undress himself, leaving only his boxer briefs on as he lay his suit over the back of a chair.

Monica followed his instruction and undressed what clothes were left on her body. She tossed her jeans aside and lay down on the bed, enjoying the feel of the satin sheets on her naked skin. Everything about this night was unexpected and erotic and Monica was enjoying every second of it.

Christopher knelt down beside the bed and asked her to move her ass closer to the edge of the bed. Monica shuffled down to where he was kneeling. Christopher placed his hands on her legs and spread her legs open, and lowered his face down to her wetness. Monica closed her eyes and allowed him to take her away to another world with the movements of his tongue. He was incredibly talented, bringing her to orgasm after orgasm as he played with her clit and slipped a finger in, stimulating her g-spot until she came again and again. Monica was coming undone over and over, her whole body was tingling with adrenaline and ecstasy. She wasn’t even able to think anymore as she felt Christopher climbing on top of her, sliding her body up further onto the big bed.

“You are dripping wet Monica, I can’t wait to feel you.” Christopher whispered into her ear and nibbled her neck, sending shivers down her spine.

“Yes please, I want to feel you inside me Christopher!” Monica exclaimed in response, she was so thoroughly aroused, she wanted more, she never wanted this feeling to end.

Christopher slipped his long hard cock into her and she moaned deeply as she felt him filling her up. He slid in and out, making her wrap her legs tightly around his body as she came undone again.

“Oh god Christopher!” She moaned into his neck as he stroked himself inside her, over and over again.

“I’m going to come Monica, let me come in your mouth.” He whispered into her ear as he pulled out and shifted towards her, holding his fat cock in his right hand.

Monica moved downwards and took his hardness in her mouth, allowing him to explode inside her mouth, she twisted her tongue around the head of his cock as she felt the hot fluid releasing into her mouth, coating her tongue. She looked up at him and he smiled, putting his hands gently on the back of her head as he finished cuming. Monica pulled off him and swallowed. She let her body fall back onto the bed, her whole body was exhausted from the overload of pleasure she had just experienced.

“That was amazing.” Christopher fell down on the bed beside her and stretched out. “Exactly what I needed, you are amazing. Thank you.” Christopher rolled over and stroked her face, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

“It really was… amazing.” Monica whispered, out of breath.

They fell asleep together and in the morning, it took Monica a moment to realize where she was. The sun was shining in through the drapes and she was alone in the bed. She rolled over, looking around the room to see where Christopher was. She noticed an envelope on the bedside table addressed to her. Reaching out, she opened it.

“Dear Monica,

Thank you for a truly wonderful night. I had to leave as I have a conference today. Enjoy the rest of your drive to LA and the day after you arrive there, come to my home at 1151 Bellview Drive. I will expect you at noon. Bring your scripts. Safe travels my dear.

Christopher”

Monica sighed deeply and thought of everything that had happened the night before, it was truly an unbelievable experience. She got out of bed and gathered her clothes together, getting dressed and grabbing her purse, heading to the elevator. She went back to her own hotel room and had a quick shower, wanting to get on the road as soon as possible.

Monica checked out of the hotel and the valet brought her car around, he helped load her bag into the trunk and she tipped him and took the keys and she headed out on the road again. This time the drive was different, she had mixed feelings of excitement and anticipation as she flew down the highway. She wondered which one of her scripts the producers would like and a few times she stopped and questioned if Christopher was really going to follow through with his side of their agreement. But every time the thought crossed her mind, she shook her head and replaced it with a feeling of exhilaration, thinking positively about what had happened, and knowing that she had really enjoyed the sex. It was all worth it.

Monica pulled in to Scarlett’s house late that night, after 10:00pm. She parked on the street into front of Scarlett’s house and grabbed her bag out of the trunk, dragging it up to the front door. She rang the doorbell and heard a commotion coming from the other side of the door. The door suddenly swung open and Scarlett was standing there, bright eyed and full of smiles.

“Monica! You made it!” She screamed in her excitement of seeing her friend. She wrapped her arms around her and gave her a huge hug. “Come in!”

Monica came inside and put her bag down in the modest living room. “It’s so great to see you Scarlett. It’s been way too long.”

“It really has! I’m so glad you came. You are really going to love it here in LA Monica. The weather, the people, everything, I swear, it’s like an entirely different world compared to Georgia.”

Monica smiled and nodded at her, rubbing her eyes.

“Oh man, you look exhausted, here I’ll show you to the guest room and you can crash. I have to get to bed soon too, I have a big audition tomorrow at 11:00am, so you sleep in and we can catch up later on when I get home. OK?” Scarlett smiled and picked up Monica’s bag for her, leading her down the hall and into a room with a double bed and a cute little dresser in it. “It’s not much, but the bed is comfy, I swear!”

“It’s perfect Scarlett, thank you so much.” Monica gave her friend another hug and then began to settle in for sleep.

The next morning came quicker than Monica had expected and she awoke with the same feeling as she had in Christopher’s penthouse, she didn’t know where she was for a few seconds and it took her brain a minute to process and wake up. She looked around the room for a clock and didn’t see one. Stretching and getting out of bed, Monica headed out to see what time is was, hoping there was a clock in the kitchen or something. She found a clock on the stove top and it said that it was already 11:15am. Shocked that she had slept in that much, Monica rushed into the bathroom to have a shower and get ready for her meeting with Christopher. She was able to get ready and dressed in 20 minutes, throwing on a cute sundress and some sandals and leaving her hair to dry au natural. She quickly dug out her scripts and ran out of the house, locking the door behind her with a key that Scarlett had left for her on the kitchen counter.

Monica pulled into Christopher’s driveway a few minutes after noon. There was a big gate with a camera blocking her way up to his house and she had to press a buzzer to let him know that she was there. Someone buzzed her in, but no voice came from the speaker. She shrugged and drove up the driveway after the huge gate opened to let her in. She was in awe at the size of his house, if you could even call it that. It was a mansion like she had never seen before in her life. There were palm trees decorating the lawn and the house itself was gorgeous with big white pillars and the house was painted a beautiful shade of golden yellow. It looked very exotic, with big windows everywhere, and metal trim that wove itself up the house in pretty vines.

She parked her car near the door and headed up to the house. Christopher opened the door and waved to her as she approached.

“Wonderful to see you again my dear! Come in, come in!” Christopher was in high spirits and dressed much more casually, in khakis and a polo t-shirt. He pulled her in for a kiss once she made it to the door. Monica kissed him back deeply and she felt a surge of desire course through her veins once more, wanting to feel his body on hers. Christopher broke the kiss off and took her hand as he led her into his castle of a home. She was amazed at how big it was, the ceilings never seemed to end and when they did, they were dressed with the most incredible hanging chandeliers she had ever seen. There were expensive pieces of art on the walls and statues display on their own personal marble tables.

“It’s good to see you again Christopher.” Monica said shyly as he led her through an enormous kitchen and out on to a patio that led down to a giant, beautiful pool with a waterfall pouring into it. “Oh my god… this is amazing!”

“Thank you, I think the waterfall is my favorite thing about this house. Here have a seat and let’s talk business.” Christopher sat down at the patio table and poured her a glass of sparkling water, placing it in front of her where she sat. “First matter of business, you look absolutely beautiful.”

Monica laughed and smiled at him, “Thank you!” “My pleasure! Now, for the real matter at hand, you brought your scripts?” Christopher took a sip of his own glass of water and leaned back leisurely.

“Of course.” Monica pulled out two thick scripts from her bag and passed them over to Christopher. “Here you are.”

“Tell me about them.” Christopher took the scripts and began flipping through the first one.

“That one is called ‘Where the Road Ends.’ It’s a love story based in the early 19th century, where a mail order bride falls in love with a man in the oil business.”

“People love to hear stories like that! How about this one?” Christopher picked up the second one and began flipping through it.

“That one is a comedy, about two guys who start up a winery in California, it’s called ‘Good Grapes.’”

“Sounds intriguing, maybe we can get some good actors in this one, comedies are big sellers right now.” Christopher said thoughtfully as he flipped to the beginning and started reading.

Monica stayed quiet and let him read for a bit, sipping on her water and enjoying the view. After a few minutes, Christopher looked up at her and said, “You know what? This is actually really funny Monica. I love it. This is the one.” He smiled at her and winked.

“Really? You think they will like it?” Monica couldn’t believe that Christopher Hardy was sitting her in front of her, telling her that her writing was good. It was like a dream come true.

“They will love it. They will buy it and they will get to work on casting for it right away, I’m sure! Here’s what we’re going to do, you and I are going to leave here and go down to the studio together, because you’re stunning and I want you to meet the producers. We are going to sell them this script and the rest, as they say, is history!”

“OK! That would be amazing Christopher, really. Thank you so much.” Monica was grinning from ear to ear.

“My pleasure.” Christopher got up and took her hand once more, guiding her back inside his house, leading her into his garage where a collection of expensive cars were resting peacefully inside.

Christopher walked over to a red Lamborghini and hit a beeper. The doors opened upwards to the roof and Monica’s mouth dropped open at the sight of it. Christopher laughed when he looked over and saw her staring at it like it was from another planet. “I’m assuming you’ve never been in one?” “Been in one? I’ve never even seen one in real life! That is so cool!” Monica climbed into the passenger side and admired the beauty of the interior of the car too. “This is amazing.”

They drove at what felt like light speed to Monica. When they pulled into the Universal Studio gate, the security guard just waved Christopher through the gate without stopping him, he obviously was very well known.

They pulled up in front of a studio and headed inside. It was like an office building, with offices and normal looking people going around their work days. Some people waved to Christopher as he passed, or greeted him with a “Good afternoon sir.” Monica felt like they were VIPs, and in fact, they were.

Christopher stopped into front of an office door and knocked. The office door had a plaque that read, ‘Joe Smith, Executive Producer’ on it in gold embossment.

“Come in!” A man with a deep voice yelled from inside.

Christopher opened the door and walked into the man’s office. The man who had told them to come in was a big burly type of man with a t-shirt on and black framed glasses. He was seated at a big oak desk, typing away on his laptop. When he looked up to see who had entered his office, he smiled and stood up, coming around the desk to give Christopher a hug.

“Christopher! It’s been ages! How the hell are ya?” They embraced and patted each other on the back.

“I’m good Joe! I want you to meet someone very talented. This is Monica Cambridge.”

Joe reached out and embraced her in a hug as well, “Any friend of Christopher’s is a friend of mine! Nice to meet you Monica.”

“The pleasure is all mine Joe!” Monica was in such high spirits, it was like she was living in a dream world.

“Monica here has written an incredible comedy that you’re going to buy.” Christopher said, passing over the script to Joe as he settled down in a leather chair in front of Joe’s desk. Monica sat down beside Christopher, and Joe sat down in his chair behind the desk, with the script in hand. He started flipping through the pages and reading it.

“Hey! This is gold!” He laughed a few times while reading the script. “You wrote this Monica?” Joe stopped and looked up at her.

“Yes, of course! The idea just came to me one day and I thought it would make a funny story. I’m glad to hear you like it, thank you!” Monica was beaming from the compliment.

“I do like it, in fact, I love it! How much do you want for it?” Joe said to Monica.

Before Monica could answer, Christopher spoke, “She’s selling it for $500,000.00 flat rate, with rights to royalties once the movie goes into theatres and after it’s out on DVD as well. Monica also has to be accredited as the writer on the credits of the film.”

“Well, lucky you Monica, you’ve got one tough dog in your corner here. Good thing you brought him here with you, he knows what he wants and he’s known for getting it.” Joe laughed and flipped through the script some more, thinking about the offer.

“Come on Joe, we don’t have all day.” Christopher was all business right now, it was seriously hot and seriously intimidating.

“Alright, you’ve got it. Done deal.” Joe stood up and shook Christopher’s hand and then turned to Monica and shook her hand as well. “Congratulations on your new film Miss Cambridge. I can’t wait to work with you on this project.”

“Thank you so much Mr Smith, you have no idea what this means to me.” Monica was overwhelmed with emotion as she shook his hand.

“Let’s make movie magic!” Joe smiled and laughed.

“We’ll discuss more details tomorrow Joe, we’ve got a date with this beautiful sunshine.” Christopher said as he turned to leave Joe’s office.

“See you tomorrow! Ciao Monica! Pleasure to meet you!” Joe said as they walked out of the office.

Monica floated back down to the car in a haze of happiness and disbelief wanting to pinch herself, but knowing full well that this was really happening. Her script was going to be turned into a movie, and she was $500,000.00 richer. Dreams really do come true…
