Thanking Her Hero (Steel Daggers MC Book 2) by Elisa Leigh (10)

Nine

Rock

I wake up ready to push inside my woman, excited that she’s finally here in our home. I reach out, but she isn’t there. I listen out for her because I’m praying to God she is in the bathroom and didn’t do the unthinkable. The house is silent and I’m enough of a pussy to admit it hurts like hell that she left. I can’t believe she would just leave after what we shared last night.

I throw the covers off of me and do my morning routine. While brushing my teeth, I come up with a plan to find her. First, I’ll call Pres and find out if she’s with Emersen. If not, I’ll call Triton and have him track her phone.

I walk to the living room, satisfied with the plan I’ve made. I’m busy on my phone when I walk by, not noticing the fire roaring in the fireplace. When I enter my kitchen, I’m shocked to find the beautiful blonde in a pair of my sweats and a long sleeve Steel Daggers MC shirt making breakfast in my kitchen.

“Hey hun. I made coffee, but it might be cold. I made it over an hour ago.”

“Coffee?”

“Yes. I hope you like bacon, scrambled eggs, and biscuits. That’s all you had. We really need to go to the grocery store today.”

She pours me a cup of coffee but takes a sip first and grimaces then pours it out into the sink. “Damn, it’s cold. Oh well, I’ll just make another pot.”

She’s in the middle of making a new pot when I can’t take it anymore.

“You made me breakfast?”

“I made us breakfast.”

“You made us breakfast. You’re making coffee. You’re wearing my clothes.” I say more to myself than her.

“Yep. I hate to say it Harrison, but I think I’m going to steal this shirt from you. It’s so soft. You should talk to whoever makes your shirts and get them to make some pink ones. Oh yes, that’s a great idea.” She talks on and on completely oblivious to me.

“Stop!”

She jumps, dropping the coffee cup she’s holding. When it shatters on the floor, she almost cuts herself. I grab her off the ground and sit her on the counter not wanting her to get cut by the broken pieces. I wrap my arms around her tiny body, hugging her tight. I breathe in her honey scent and instantly calm. Thank you Jesus, my woman didn’t leave me.

I pull back and look at her, needing her to understand. “I thought you left. I thought this was too much for you, that I rushed you into something you weren’t ready for. I had a plan Chelsea. I was going to get you back and convince you I was the right man, the only man, for you. But you’re here in our kitchen, making coffee and biscuits.”

She smiles at me sweetly and the rest of the pain I was feeling in my chest eases. Holding the side of my face, she swipes my cheek with her thumb. “Why would I leave Harrison? This is home now. You are home, my home, for always.”

She kisses me, and it’s the kind of kiss that confirms every wish and destroys all doubts. She wraps her legs around my ass and pulls me in between her thighs, then uses her toes to tug my joggers down to my knees. I can’t stop kissing her in fear of breaking this spell she’s cast over us. Fumbling, I’m able to get her sweats off on the second try, and I quickly take advantage of the fact that her lips are glistening by sliding in deep. Her pussy fits me perfectly. I feel her cunt shudder around my shaft with each pull and plunge inside her.

“So good. You feel so good inside of me. I love how full I am of you.” She bites into my shoulder and I almost come.

“Every time Harrison. I felt whole for the first time in my life the minute you slid inside me. Each time we become one, the jagged pieces of my heart start to soften and they don’t hurt so bad. You take away my pain. With every touch and kiss I’m being washed clean into a woman worthy of your love.”

I stop mid-stroke and grab her face in my hands, jerking it up so she’s got her eyes on mine. “You’ve been worthy of my love since the day you were born. Do you hear me Chelsea? You came into this world perfect, exactly the persasson you needed to be. I’m sorry you’ve had fucked up shit happen to you. No one deserves to live that pain, but you proved to yourself that you’re a survivor. That is the most beautiful piece of your soul Angel. Don’t you ever talk about yourself like that again. Not to me, but most importantly I don’t even want you thinking it. Promise me this is the last time we have this conversation.”

A single tear slips down her cheek, and I kiss it away.

“I promise.”

“Perfect Angel. Now I’m going to love you right.” I don’t pussyfoot around. I want her bathed in my juices. I hit that spot that I know makes her light up and she’s coming all over my cock a couple minutes later. Damn, my Angel comes so good.

Breakfast forgotten, I walk us into the living room with my Angel wrapped around my middle. I lay down on the couch, my woman laying on my chest between my legs, and a blanket covering us. The fire crackles in the background, and I have found my happy thought. You know the one I’m talking about.

I loved Peter Pan when I was growing up. My momma used to tell me that when things got tough, just think a happy thought. I could never find the right one, something was never right. I’ve had a few over the years, but none as perfect as this morning is.

Running my fingers through her golden locks, I tell her part of my ugly, the part that few know. “The earliest memory I have of my father is him hitting my mom because she didn’t buy the right type of laundry detergent.” She goes still on top of me, but I push forward, needing to get this out.

“I think I was five. I didn’t understand why my mom got punished all the time. My father was never physically abusive to me, he saved that for her. I still have mixed feelings about that. When I got older, and they talked about abuse in school, I started to wonder if what was going on at home was normal. I was nine, and I didn’t think about the consequences of my actions. I told an adult, and the state came to investigate. After that my dad acted nice for the first time that I could remember. I kept hoping that he’d stay that way, that he’d stop being so mean.

He seemed to be trying to be a better man, and for the next couple of months things were good at home, mom was even smiling. I loved seeing her smile. I don’t know what it was, but one day my mom did something that made him mad again. He beat her so bad she had to go to the hospital. She never came back home, and dad was angrier than usual. That was one of the scariest times in my life.

A week later she came and checked me out of school early. I was so relieved and happy to see her again. She was driving a car I had never seen before, and she told me we were going on a trip far, far away. We eventually made it here to Pennsylvania from Arizona after a week of driving.

My mom doesn’t say much about the things that happened to her back then, but I can see how it washes over her some days, while others you wouldn’t have a clue about the hell she has gone through. She rebuilt her life and got strong for us. To me, her strength and choosing herself and me over staying with what she knew, is beautiful. You remind me of her every day. Not because what you’ve gone through is similar, but because you both chose life even when it was hard.”

“She sounds like an amazing woman Harrison.”

“You’re both amazing women Chelsea. Sit up baby.”

She looks at me curiously but sits up anyway. I slide out from underneath her and move her, so I can stand on my knees between her thighs. I grab her hands and wait for her to meet my gaze.

“I will never lay a hand on you in anger. I will never talk down to you or destroy your self-worth. I promise to be the support you need when you need it. I’m going to love you every day I have left on this earth, and then I’ll love you into eternity. I need you tied to me in every way possible before I lose my fucking mind. Angel, marry me. Be my wife.”

Chelsea launches herself into my arms, and I end up falling backward with her on top of me kissing me slow and soft.

“That’s a yes, right love?”

“I didn’t realize you asked a question. I am caveman, you marry me, make my babies, ahhh.” She laughs rolling off of me to the side. I quiet her laughter with kisses and spend the rest of the day making love to my fiancé in front of our fireplace day telling stories from our past and building our dreams for the future.
