I’m sitting at one of the best tables in one of my favorite fucking restaurants. I booked this for me and for Sofia, and now I’m waiting around with my cock in my hand for them to finish fucking around at the track.

I was wondering where she got to earlier today and tried to chase it up, until I finally got a text from Marco late this afternoon. I told him to meet me here. I wanted to tell him to drop the woman off here and go fuck himself.

“I had planned on surprising her.” I take a hard gulp of my drink.

Marco doesn’t even hear me. He’s getting lost in his menu.

I see a flicker of red out of the corner of my eye, and I’m drawn towards it. It’s Sofia.

Time slows down. She’d taken off the big black coat and brushed her hair back into a stylish dark clip. It makes an elegant knot at her neck with a few dark tendrils framing the delicate bones of her face.

The dress is nothing but a tight red sheath. Short, strapless, it hugs her generous curves and slender waist.

Her gorgeous long legs are highlighted by the black stockings and sexy, shiny, black heels. As she turns to one of the staff nearby handing over her jacket, I see the long dark seams along the back of each leg.

As she walks towards me, I see little strips of pale skin winking at me from between the tops of the stockings and the edge of the dress.

She sits down and smiles at me. Her grip on my hand is warm, and the smile is so bright I can feel it in my chest. I completely forget my brother’s existence at this point.

I squeeze her hand. “how was your day?”

“Thrilling!” She laughs easily. “Antonio has some taste in art. And I’ve never ridden in a race car before. I wonder what we’ll get up to next!”

She rubs my arm, leaning in.

“I had this planned as a surprise.” I gesture at the table set with its delicate arrangement of white roses. “It’s the best restaurant in town. I really wanted to share it with you.”

“I’m sure it’ll be amazing.” She picks up a menu, but I can’t help feeling cold inside.

I had felt more for this woman in the space of a day than anyone before. I thought I could control my feelings, keep myself in check.

But here I am, heart on the line, and I don’t even remember putting it out there. She stole it.

She disappears behind the menu, and it feels like her light has turned away from me. Why had I even imagined that a woman like her could love me?

That’s why she ran off with my brothers. She had measured us carefully while we were fucking her and obviously decided I didn’t make the cut.

She puts down the menu and smiles at me. I smile back, trying to reassure myself as she gives my arm a squeeze.

“You okay?” Her dark eyes search mine. “You look a bit lost.”

At least Marco seems to be getting the hint. I see him rise from his seat.

“Better fly my friends. Places to go people to see, you know how it is.”

And then he’s gone. Finally I can relax.

I smile at her—for real now. I have never felt this way before. She’s worth fighting for, and I’ve never gone down without one.

All I can do is keep going, show her who I am and hope that she accepts me. That I’m good enough. It’s only slightly better than not trying at all.
