Big Dad D: A Bad Boy Standalone Romance by Vanessa Kinney (38)

Rose

“Hello, Earth to Rose.” Meredith waves her hand in front of my face. I snap out of my dirty thoughts and clear my throat.

“Did you say something?” I turn my head to the side and try to hide the blush on my face. No matter how hard I try, I can’t stop thinking of them. Ever since Alex put the idea of having both of them in my head, every other thought is of that.

The different positions. Their hands on my body. Me moaning out their names as they fill me up.

Meredith eyes me carefully for a moment before looking back down at her phone. “I need you to do a couple guest appearances on some morning talk shows. Remind people to vote for your father.” She looks up at me and I nod to her words. “Do you think that you can do that?”

“Of course,” I answer. I can’t take being in the same room as Meredith. Everything she does is devoted to being in the spotlight. Always on different talk show hosts. Opening herself up to the world. She and I are two very different people.

I’ve grown up in that world. And disliked every minute of it. It became almost unbearable when my mother died in the car crash. News reporters hounding a 12-year-old girl about her dead mother. I hated every moment of it since then.

I didn’t want to go on the morning show. I only did it for my father. He was the only reason that I hadn’t fallen off the edge when my mother passed away. And I’d do anything to repay him for that.

I don’t agree with him still being mayor for another term, but it’s one of the small things that bring him joy in life after my mother died.

“Good.” Meredith checks me off her to do list and I get up. I need to get out of here before she makes me do anymore. I make my way to the door when I feel her hand on my shoulder. I look into those black pools of hers. “Are you seeing anyone right now?” She looks down into her phone.

“What do you mean?” I ask. Blake and Max pop into my head. We aren’t technically together at this point. Honestly, I don’t even know what we are.

“Are you dating anyone?” She tilts her head.

“No. Not at the moment.”

“Good. I’ll have Lucy send you a list of eligible bachelors. Your father will poll better if you’re seen in a committed relationship.” She walks away, adding another check to her list.

“I don’t need a date. I can do the talk shows on my own.” I can feel the anger building up inside of me. I need to stand up to her. To show her that she can’t just boss me around anytime that she wants.

“Nonsense. All of the people on my list are Harvard graduates and the top of their class. Lucy will email you the list tonight.” She grabs her bag and throws it over her shoulder.

I open my bag to retaliate, but she out the door before I can answer.

* * *

I take two looks at the list and I can feel the anger building inside of me. I almost call my father before I reconsider it. I don’t want to bother him with all this. He has a lot on his mind. The election is in a couple weeks.

The doors to the elevator open and I can hear clacking weights. A couple minutes on the treadmill is all that I need. Something to get my mind off it all.

A couple minutes of peace and quiet. No Meredith. No Alex. And no Max and Blake. I walk through the door, stuffing my left ear with a headphone when I hear his voice.

“Hey there, sweet cheeks, fancy meeting you here.” Blake jumps off the bench press, his body shining from the light coat of sweat. Max is right behind him, re-racking the weighs. Both their eyes fall up and down my body, and the rush of heat to my face is almost unbearable.

“What are you two doing here?”

They look at each other and laugh. “Waiting for you, of course,” Blake answers.

Max punches him in the arm. “She’s going to think we are some weird ass stalkers if you say shit like that.” He looks over to me, his sapphire eyes glimmering. “We needed to get a workout in. There’s been a lot of pent up aggression since our date.”

I smile at his words. Did I do that to them? Are they fighting over me? The thought crosses my mind until I bring myself back.

“Is that so?” I look around the small gym. There’s no one else here.

They nod their heads. “This is the best place for us when we can’t think straight.”

A dirty plan crosses my mind. I take a step forward and touch Blake’s arm. “Hitting the weights hard, huh?” I can barely wrap my hands around his bicep. Behind me, I can feel Max’s eyes drilling into Blake.

“Well, I like to stay in shape. It’s an important part of the job.” He flexes a little harder and it nearly takes my breath away. I run a finger up and down his side. Every inch of his arm is sculpted.

Max walks in front of us, taking a weight from behind him. He curls it and looks at it. I walk over and feel as his hand lifts the weight. I wish that I could bite down into them.

“Is this helping with all that pent-up aggression?” I ask. My hand rests on his cheek, letting his stubble dig into my palm. Max smirks at me.

“Is this supposed to be retaliation for the other night?” He sets the weight back down. “‘Cause if it is, you’ll have to try harder than that. You’re not going to break both of us.” He puts his hand on Blake’s back.

Blake nods to his words.

“Oh, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I walk over to the treadmill and lean over, grabbing down to my toes. The yoga pants stretch and give way, my ass aiming directly in their direction. I steal a glance to the side and see both of them looking at me, Max’s hand falling from Blake’s shoulder. “I need to get a good stretch in before I can run. Do any of you want to help?”

Blake is by my side faster than I can blink. He raises his hand in the air like a nervous school boy. “I volunteer.”

Max shoots him a look, but Blake doesn’t notice. He’s too busy staring at my eyes. And I am enjoying every moment of it. I stick my tongue out in Max’s direction.

He shakes his head and turns away from me, grabbing a weight in each hand. He positions himself at the other end of the gym, where he can look at us through the mirror.

I turn my attention to Blake. “Thanks for your help.” I take his hand and guide it to my thigh. “I’ve been really tight lately. Can you feel it?” I flex and push his palm against my leg.

“Sure can,” he says. He runs his hand up and down my body. A surge of electricity shoots through me and it takes everything that I have not to attack him. I steal a glance at Max, who is throwing daggers in my direction.

I sit on the floor and Blake follows. “Open your legs.” He nods and I push my heels against his, forcing us to stretch. There’s visible pain in Blake’s face every time I push us a little further, but he doesn’t say another word. “How are you doing over there?”

“Fine,” he mumbles out. His face is a cherry red and his breaths are deep and long. “I can’t anymore,” he says with a strain.

I hop into the air as he grabs his crotch. “Thanks for the stretch.” I grab my headphones and bounce out of the room. Max is on the other side laughing his ass off as Blake struggles to lift himself up. Max winks at me and I return the favor.

Always leave them wanting more. That’s something that the two of them have taught me.

I can easily play their game. And something tells me that I might just win.
