Biker Ruined (The Lost Souls MC Series Book 8) by Ellie R Hunter (12)

Pope

“Did Slade say what time the prick pays for his last drink?” Niall complains from the back seat.

“The more he drinks, the easier our job is. Quit whining,” Noah snaps over his shoulder.

I ignore the both of them and keep my eyes trained on the door to the bar. I’m starting to wish Cas sent me on my own. I can handle one punk without having to sit here listening to the ugly sisters constant sniping and moaning.

I continue to watch the bar and thank the Lord they both sit in silence, beautiful, glorious silence. It’s nearly midnight when the kid stumbles out of the bar with a chick hanging off his arm. I switch the engine on and creep along, careful not to catch their attention yet. I let him walk two streets over before it feels right to take him.

“Niall, roll down your window and act like we’re in Danny’s club and he wants us to pick him up to party for the weekend.”

He slides across the back seat as I pull up beside Kyle and he winds down the window.

“Hey…Kyle,” he yells.

He and the chick stop and he leans over to look in the car.

“Do I know you?” he asks.

He doesn’t sound drunk but he does sound like he isn’t going to be a problem.

“Dan and Cayden told us to come pick you up, it’s party time,” Niall hollers.

At first he looks confused, surprised almost that his brothers want to spend time with him. I put it to the back of mind and quickly think of a back-up plan in case this charade doesn’t work.

“They want me there?”

“We ain’t here for the fun of it, we didn’t know you existed till Dan asked us to swing by and get ya,” Niall continues.

“Whoa…party,” Kyle shouts and takes a stumble towards the car.

“Dump the girl, we’ve got plenty to choose from back at the party. C’mon, they’re waiting on us. We don’t want to miss all the fun.”

He ditches the girl faster than the speed of light and Niall throws open the door for him. He gets in and as soon as I hear the door close I’m driving away thinking this was too easy. I’m not used to pricks being this gullible. It’s fucking pathetic really. He took the word of someone who he was made to believe knew his brothers. The only people I take their word straight off is my brothers and my president. It isn’t far back to the van but it’s far enough we won’t be seen and Niall keeps Kyle talking the whole way. Niall is impressing me, he’s pulling this off brilliantly.

When I turn onto the road where the van is parked, I flick my eyes in the rear-view mirror and catch Niall’s attention.

“Send him to sleep,” I order.

Transferring him over to the van will be a lot easier if he’s unconscious. The kid doesn’t see the fist hurtling towards him and after impact is made he’s out for the count. I feel nothing hauling a twenty-year-old kid into the back of the van. I feel nothing sitting over his body as Noah takes the wheel.

“Drive straight to the Mill, don’t stop for anything,” I order.

During the drive, I bound his wrists together, then his ankles, and last but by no means least, I slap a piece of duct tape over his mouth. To finish him off, I blindfold him. It’s like I’m gift wrapping him before we hand him over. I never take my eyes away from him, not for one second. This is our ticket to gaining revenge for Oak.

Time flies by and we’re the first ones to arrive at the Mill. I jump out of the side door and open the large, heavy wooden doors so Noah can drive through. The place has been abandoned for years and Cas got it cheap when it came up at auction. Noah stops by the old office and he and Niall jump out.

“Give me a hand,” I grunt to Niall, looming over Kyle.

I grab onto his legs and Niall reaches in and takes his upper body. We haul him out and dump him on the floor. Satisfied he can’t move, not that he’s regained consciousness, I stay by the door and keep watch for the others. By the time the sun begins to rise, Niall’s nodding off and the others are nowhere in sight. I hope Slade’s tracking was spot on, the club needs to make progress. I need it. Sliding down the door, I rest my head against the wood. Last night’s adrenaline is beginning to wear off and my shoulders hang heavily.

“They should be here by now, do you think they ran into trouble?”

I look over to Noah and his lack of faith infuriates me.

“They’ll be here.”

And, before I have the chance to ignore him and his doubts, a van comes racing towards the Mill. Pushing up to my feet, I push open the door again, and Sparky drives through and parks up beside our van.

“How was it?” Cas asks, jumping down from the passenger seat and eyes Kyle on the floor.

“It was flawless, we took your advice and lured him in by saying we were from his brother’s club.”

Cas nods his approval but Sparky asks, “Why is he unconscious then?”

“Didn’t want him making a scene when we moved from the car to the van.”

Cayden isn’t unconscious when he’s dragged out by Sparky and the prospect, Dex. He’s already bleeding from the nose and his right eye is swollen.

“He put up a fight,” Cas smirks, watching me assess the damage.

“Was he hiding out at the sister’s place?”

“Yeah, like a punk. Stupid fucker ordered pizza and had a surprise when we delivered it,” Sparky laughs.

I suppress the need to snort and shake my head instead. The Devils Bastards motorcycle club really is done and gone. No longer a club of men who understand the balance of power and how to control it, but boys who have no idea their left from right.

With both brothers restrained, I hand over Kyle’s cell phone to Cas and Slade pulls out Cayden’s.

“The prospect and Niall will stay here and watch over these two while the rest of us head back to the cabin and use these to reach out to Danny.”

I don’t need to be told twice and I’m walking out of the Mill before anyone else. The sun is warm already and it makes the tiredness worse. I push on and do as I’m ordered.
