Biker Ruined (The Lost Souls MC Series Book 8) by Ellie R Hunter (25)

Cas

I ride into the compound behind Alannah driving in. She’s come to collect our things from the main house. The women and kids are all back home now the danger is no longer and I couldn’t be happier.

I park up beside her car and walk around to Leo and unbuckle him from his seat.

“Come and see me before you leave, I have a surprise for you,” I tell Alannah handing over our son to her.

“Oh yeah?”

“Yeah.”

I lean in and press my lips to hers before swatting her on her ass as she turns for the house.

“See you real soon, babe,” she says over her shoulder.

Once she’s through the front door, I head for my office. Now our focus isn’t on tracking down Danny, we need to get back to making cash. I’ve still not been to see Hank regarding the state of the diner, Sparky has spoken with him but I’m the president and it’s my duty to cover anything my men do in the name of the club.

First thing, I need to arrange a run with Denzel. I punch in his number and tap my finger on the desk as it rings once and goes to voicemail.

Throwing the phone down, I make my way down to the basement. They’re both awake and their eyes follow me over to the table covered with various weapons of death. I choose a small blade and toss it around in my hand. I’m in a good mood and I want to keep it that way.

Not a word is said and only Cayden begins to sweat as I walk towards them.

I don’t stop until I’m standing behind the sweaty cunt. Danny is far from my mind, savouring his impending pain for another time.

Yanking his head back, I expose his neck and drag the knife across his skin. Blood spurts out everywhere and I shove his head forward.

I shut out his choking gurgles and move in front of Danny. I wipe his brothers blood on the knife across his cheek and he eyeballs me the whole time.

His left eye is fully swollen shut and his bottom lip is crusted with his blood.

“Do you think it bothers me? You can kill who you like.”

I like to believe I’m a good judge of character and he truly isn’t effected by his brother choking on his own blood a foot away from him.

“What if I bring your sister down here?”

“That whore means nothing to me now. You have nothing to use against me, just kill me, get it over and done with.”

He’s not showing any emotion but this makes me howl with laughter.

“I don’t think so, I’ve got something special planned for you.”

I drop the knife onto the floor as Cayden finally fucking dies and I leave before Danny ends up in the same way.

I promised the club we would all take him out and I won’t break my word.

“I look forward to seeing what you’ve got for me, sweetheart,” I hear before I slam the basement door shut.

It makes me think, what will get to him and what the fuck has happened to him in his life to make him this cold hearted?

I need to see something flash in his eyes before me, fear, anger, something that will feed my black soul.

Pope has been getting here early the last couple of days, and it doesn’t take long to find him outside near the garages, working on his bike.

“Hey, how’s Sal? Is she happy to be home?”

“She’s good,” he grunts, wiping his hands on the rag sticking out of his back pocket. Something on my wrist catches his eye and I look down to find two specs of blood. Cayden’s blood.

He throws me his rag and I quickly get rid of the blood.

“Been playing with our guests?” he smirks.

“I didn’t touch Danny, but Cayden is dead. I slit that fuckers throat and left him in the basement.”

He lets out a low whistle and returns to working on his bike.

“Do you want me to get rid of the body?”

“Yeah, but I don’t want Kyle or Melissa seeing it.”

“I can do discreet,” he nods.

“I know you can. Ring me when it’s done.”

I wasn’t planning on killing Cayden today and I wasn’t planning on killing him on my own. Shit happens, we still have the main prize and that’s the one we all need to move on. Cayden was a no one in the grand scheme of our revenge.

“I’ll sort him.”

I nod.

In the time it took me to make one phone call and kill a man, Alannah has her shit collected and she’s hauling the bag out to the car.

“Hey, there’s a whole fuckin’ club who can carry that for you,” I growl, jogging over to her before she gets too far.

She shouldn’t be carrying heavy shit in her condition.

“It’s just clothes, Cas. If I needed help, I would’ve called for you.”

“Pass me your keys,” I say, taking the bag from her.

“Why?”

“Cause I’m gonna drive.”

She doesn’t question me further and I dump the bag in the trunk and wait for her to go back in and get Leo.

She buckles him and climbs into the passenger seat.

“Are you going to tell me where we’re going?” she asks.

I nod at Pope as I drive by the garages and he nods back. When I return, Danny will be the sole focus of my attention.

I drive out to Sparky’s place and Bonnie comes out for Leo. I’d already arranged for her to watch him for a few hours before we left home this morning. I need a few hours with my wife, plus, I need her around me after I do bad shit.

I drive out to the lakes, where I know we both find peace for ourselves. We haven’t been here since before Leo was born and with another one on the way, I don’t know when we’ll get out here again.

“What made you think of coming here?” she asks, as I open her door for her.

“I needed real air and you, and we’ve always liked it here.”

We sit by our tree and get comfortable. The breeze cools me down and I listen to the leaves bristling on the trees as Alannah sits against me.

“Luna,” I blurt out.

“Luna?”

“I want a daughter and to call her, Luna. My Lana, Leo and Luna.”

“What if we have another boy?”

“I haven’t thought that far yet.”

“What else have you been thinking about?” she asks.

“Everything,” I say, stroking her hair.

I watch as she rubs her stomach and it makes me yearn for more when I see how caring and loving she is. There’s not a day that passes by where my need and love for her doesn’t grow.

“I killed Cayden while you were packing.”

“What of Danny?”

“He’s still alive…for now.”

My pause has her sitting up and she scrutinizes me hard. She notices every little change in me.

“You sound hesitant, talk to me.”

I rest my head against the tree and close my eyes.

“At the moment, the club, myself included are distracted with Danny. Once he’s gone, the club will be free to mourn Oak and…I’m not ready to face his ghost, he’s still everywhere and…”

The lump in my throat stops me from continuing and Lana grips onto my hand.

“I understand, but you need to grieve and the club needs to mourn, properly. Take that piece of shit out and lean on your brothers, do what Oak would’ve and kill him for the ghost you fear.”

I lean over and kiss her.

“I should give you the patch, you’d wear it well.”

She chuckles and then turns serious as she straddles my lap. I rest my hands on her hips and wait to see where she goes with this.

“I have your love,” she murmurs, pressing a kiss to my cheek, “I have your son,” she says, pressing another kiss on my jaw, “and I have your ring. I don’t have any use for your patch when I have you.”

She kisses me softly, too softly for her and slides her hands into my hair, pulling away.

“Oak will never be forgotten, it doesn’t matter how long you take to kill Danny, Oak will always be with us. Take out his killer and let his soul find peace, then you too will be free.”

I don’t know if anyone who wears the president patch can truly be free, but for the sake of the club and my family, I’m going to try.

“How many kids do you think we’ll have?” I ask, thinking of the future.

“Three.”

“You sound sure about that,” I chuckle.

“I love Leo and I already love this one but I don’t like being pregnant, I’ll do it once more after this one but I don’t want to spend my life pregnant. Three will be enough, two boys and one girl would be perfect.”

“Sounds good.”

It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to sit and talk about trivial matters, hopes and dreams. It’s refreshing not talking about death and revenge.

Hours pass and the sun is beginning to set.

“We should do this more often, once this little one comes along it’s going to be hard to find time together.”

“Babe, we could have ten kids and I will always find time to spend with you. If I have to whisk you away on the back of my bike and leave the kids with Bonnie, I’ll do whatever it takes.”

She smiles and rises to her feet. I’m transfixed on her body as she stretches and her tee shows off her stomach.

Pouncing to my feet, I lift her and press my lips to hers. How the fuck can she think we won’t have time for each other, I’d move heaven and earth to be with her.

Sometimes I think she understands how much I love her, and other times I think I must not show it enough for her to worry about such things.

She wraps her legs around my waist and I carry her over to the car.

“No matter where we are, what happens around us, or happens to us, it’s always and forever me and you first.”

My angel, always comes first.
