Decadent: The Reunion (The Decadent Series Book 5) by Elaine White (19)

***

It took ten minutes for Casen to leave the spare room. He had a towel wrapped around his waist, rubbing his hair dry with another as he walked over to the kitchen. Levi was beginning to sense real calm from Mack, until he looked up to see his brother walking into the room.

“Casen!” he shouted, sitting up and staring at his brother.

Casen turned to smile at his twin, only for Mack to get off the sofa and march over to him. He turned Casen so he could look at his back, his hand running over two bruises across his shoulder. “What are you doing?” Casen asked, twisting to see what he was looking at.

Levi didn't want to get involved, but he couldn't help wondering where the bruises had come from. He could see the concern written all over Mack's face and knew that if he didn't get answers that made sense he would go nuts.

“What did that bastard do to you?” Mack asked with a frown.

Levi tried to pretend he hadn't heard that; he normally wouldn't let anyone talk about Tam that way, but if he'd bruised Casen then this went beyond their friendship boundaries. He wouldn't stop Mack from taking care of his brother.

“What?” Casen said, looking around again.

“You're bruised from here to Sunday!” Mack shouted at him.

“Oh.” Casen smiled and bit his lip, reacting differently to how Levi had expected. He looked so embarrassed. “Um…let's just say that we kind of…broke…the shower. And, well, it was a lot of fun.” He laughed it off, turning to look his brother in the eye.

“Are you telling me those bruises are from sex? What the hell did you get up to?” his twin demanded, in shock.

“Give me five minutes to get dressed. This conversation will go a whole lot better with me wearing clothes,” Casen decided, while laughing at his brother. He grabbed a glass of water and headed back into the spare room. This time, it barely took him a few minutes to reappear in a jumper that hung off his shoulder and a pair of joggers.

“Is that his?” Mack asked, pointing to the jumper.

“Yeah,” Casen admitted with a smile, tugging it down a little. He sat on the armchair, while Mack returned to Levi's side and sat with him. “I just kind of love having him close to me,” he said, with a blushing smile. He looked ridiculously embarrassed to admit it.

“And the bruises don't bother you?” Mack wondered, with a curious frown.

“That's just from the shower.” Casen chuckled to himself, his neck and cheeks flushing pink. “Honest. I wouldn't let him hurt me. He wouldn't let it happen either,” he promised.

Mack went quiet, biting his bottom lip nervously. He seemed to take a while to nod along, happy to accept that answer. “Casen, I have to tell you something,” Mack said, reaching out to take his hand again.

Levi held on tight, well aware of what he was going to do.

All Casen did was smile and prop himself up, so he could talk comfortably.

“Something happened. Levi and I are kind of…together,” he explained, lifting their hands to show his brother.

Casen's lips slowly curved into a smile that eventually broke into a grin. “Like, kissing together or more than kissing?” he asked quietly, looking between them. He looked excited and happy for them, which made Levi very happy.

“More than kissing. The dating kind,” Mack elaborated, giving his hand another squeeze. “It took us a little while to work out the kinks, but we're…I think we're okay now.” He nodded to himself.

Before either of them could comment on the look on his face, Casen got up and rushed over to pounce on his twin. He practically threw him onto his back, with the force of his hug. Levi fell over, when Mack fell back, thanks to the fact that he refused to let go of his hand.

“I'm really happy for you,” Casen gushed.

Levi got a brief hug, then the youngest twin knelt between them with a giddy smile, finally letting them up.

“You didn't even ask how I felt about it,” Mack commented, his voice light and cheerful. He sounded happier than he'd been in days and it made him feel good.

“I don't have to. You're nervous, you're telling me about it and you sound terrified. That could only mean that you're happy,” Casen said, as if he knew everything about his twin that he ever had to know.

Levi was impressed, because he barely caught some of those signs from his own boyfriend. He would have felt guilty about it, if it wasn't for the fact that he accepted they still had so much to learn about each other.

“Damn it. I sometimes wish you weren't my twin,” Mack fake grumbled, with a smile.
