Romulus (Scifi Alien Romance) (Cosmic Champions) by Luna Hunter (6)

Chapter Six

Romulus

“Breakfast is ready!”

The humans shrill voice rouses me from my slumber. Still groggy, I shower, dress myself in a robe and stumble towards the mess hall.

Alexa is determined to make the best of the situation, and despite my best efforts, I haven’t broken her yet. Already I’ve told her more than I ever planned to.

The verdict is still out on the human.

“Good mornin—oh!”

Alexa stops mid-sentence, her cheeks turning the color of a supernova. I follow her gaze and notice my robe is tied rather loosely.

My cock is on full display.

I close my robe, and I can’t suppress a smirk.

It’s obvious the female wants me. I can see it in her eyes, in the way she moves her hips when she walks, in the glow on her cheeks.

And if that was not enough, I can smell her pheromones, her arousal. I must admit I enjoy the effect I’m having on her — even though her incessant questions drive me to madness.

Not that I’d ever mate with a human. No.

But, there’s nothing wrong with some in-flight entertainment.

“What is this?” I ask when I see the white-yellow goop that is on my plate.

“Eggs,” Alexa replies. “Sunny side up.”

I take a sniff.

The scent offends me.

“Human garbage,” I growl as I push my plate away. “This is an Elban vessel. How many times must I remind you?”

“Last time I checked, we were in still in the human galaxy. And in a human galaxy, we eat eggs for breakfast.”

She shoves the plate back towards me.

“Eat up.”

“Never.”

“Eat up.”

I tilt my head.

The human is testing me.

Undermining my authority.

The humiliation of having to take one of the weak ones on board was more than enough… I will not suffer any more of this.

I see now that I’ve been too kind.

I rise from my seat so quickly my chair falls over. Alexa flinches and pulls back, the smile on her face turning to fear.

“Alright, alright, I get it,” she says, grabbing my plate. “Sorry for trying to teach you some culture. My mistake.”

The human turns around and bends over as she reaches for a pan, presenting her round, curvy ass to me.

An ass that was made for spanking.

Made to be punished.

I don’t think.

I act.

The loud smack echos off the walls. Alexa yelps, her hands moving to her lower back.

“You?!” she sputters. “You?! How-how dare you?!”

I rub my wrist.

That… was a good one.

Alexa’s breathing is now heavy, her face red.

“Never do that again!” she pants.

Her voice says no, but her body… her body is telling a completely different story.

“My ship,” I say. “My rules. No more human food. You understand?”

“I understand perfectly, you pig.”

She chucks the eggs into the waste-dispenser and storms off in a huff.

I watch her go, her ass bounce with every step, and I can’t help but reach down and give my hardening cock a squeeze.

Touching her felt damn good.

I open the fridge to find one of my favorite Elban meal — a duck stew — already prepared.

After a moment of confusion, it hits me.

Alexa already made me a back-up meal in case I didn’t like the eggs.

Fuck.

Alexa

Why do I even bother?

I do my best to be nice, I cook him a nice meal, try to introduce him to one my favorite dishes, and what do I get?

A smack on the ass and a lewd grin.

Asshole.

Even though we’re thousands of miles from home, and he’s not even human, some things don’t change.

Men are pigs.

All my life this is how they’ve treated me. Like garbage. Like a maid. An assistant. It was like that in high school, in college, working for Dr. Bellamy, and now locked up here with Romulus.

I rush into my personal quarters and grab the edges of the sink. I glance up and notice the tears streaming down my face, my make-up ruined.

In a fit of rage I wipe it all away.

Who am I kidding with my mascara?

I’m here to study the Elbans, to learn… to make sure the US government doesn’t charge me with treason because they think I didn’t do my best.

Not to put the moves on an Elban warrior. Not even if he is smoking hot.

Which Romulus certainly is.

Watching him train… now that I can do all day. His glorious, muscled body on full display, coated in a thin layer of sweat

Still.

No matter how hot he is, he’s still an asshole.

I thought he might be different. Yesterday he was almost nice.

Almost.

But no. He’s not a silent warrior with a heart of gold… he’s a chauvinistic pig, who thinks of women as breeders, and my body his to touch.

No more.

I will continue with the mission, but if he smacks my ass again I’m locking myself into my room and not leaving until we get back to Earth.

At least, that’s what I tell myself, but my core won’t stop burning

There’s a knock on the door.

I jump out of bed, my heart racing. I had my face buried between the pillows — and my hand between my legs.

“Hold on,” I yell as I struggle to put my pants on.

It’s not rocket-science — one leg at a time — but it seems an insurmountable task at this moment. Another knock.

“Coming!”

I nearly was, until you knocked

I hit a button and the door slides open. Romulus is waiting for me on the other side, and for my own heart-rate, I’m happy he’s wearing his full armor.

“I have something to show you,” he says. “Follow me.”

The alien warrior doesn’t wait for an answer.

He assumes I’ll follow him blindly. It’s annoying — but he’s not wrong.

I follow Romulus up to the observation deck, where a large window provides a panorama of all the space that surrounds us.

What I see makes me lose my breath.

Saturn.

In all its glory.

The planet is gigantic from up close, the ring surrounding it even more majestic than I dared to dream. Its swirling colors are mesmerizing, and I find my face pressed against the cold window.

“Wow,” is all I can muster.

“You like the view?”

“I love it!”

“I thought so. Titan is over there,” he points. “One of the many moons surrounding Saturn. I’ll take the Classis over there. Do you want to walk on her surface?”

I whip around. “Walk? On the surface? Of a moon?”

“Yes. Yes. And yes.”

“We can do that?”

“We certainly can.”

My heart starts pounding. I’m not ready to be the first human to set foot on Titan.

Then again, when is one ready for such a momentous task?

“Wait,” I ask. “Why are you doing this?”

Is he trying to make up for being such an ass earlier?

“I’m scanning your solar system for possible threats,” he says. “The Classis is tracking all the solar radiation, so we know when another wormhole opens up.”

“Wormhole?”

Romulus smiles. “See, I’ve already said too much. The bottom line is, we have the time, so why not?”

Why not?

That’s good enough for me.

“Fine. Let’s do it.”

With my help, Alexa slips into the bulky spacesuit.

This time, I refrained from spanking her ass, or grabbing a fistful of her hair and bending her over… though I had to muster every last bit of my self-control.

Something about this woman drives me mad.

Perhaps a walk in sub-zero temperatures will cool my jets.

“Are you ready?” I ask.

Alexa nods. “I think so.”

“Follow my instructions carefully, human. I won’t lie. The surface is dangerous. The temperature is minus 290 degrees.”

“Whoa. That’s cold.”

“You’re damn right it’s cold. If your suit ruptures, you’re dead.”

Alexa shifts her weight from one foot to the other. “Maybe this is not such a good idea after all…”

“Nonsense. No risk, no glory. Now, the gravity is about 1/7th of what you’re used to on Earth, so I’m going to tether your suit to mine,” I say as I attach her suit to mine. “Just to be safe.”

“You’re going to babysit me?” she chuckles.

“I am. And if you’re bad, I will punish you.”

The doors open with a hiss.

“Enjoy.”

The brown surface of Titan greets us. I lead the way out, taking big strides, feeling as light as a feather. There’s something magical about low gravity, of being able to whiz through the air without the ground pulling you right back down.

“Whoa!” Alexa cheers into my headset. “This is… amazing!”

She jumps right up and floats through the air, her arms stretched out, grinning the entire time.

“Pretty nice huh? Glad you came out here?”

“You bet!”

I hold the line steady, so she doesn’t drift too far away.

Until I lose my footing.

The view… it’s simply stunning.

In the distance I can see the sun, but it’s only a small speck in the air, instead of the big fireball that is it back on Earth.

And here, Saturn dominates the sky. Half of the entire vista is taken up by the giant gas-planet with its impressive ring.

I take my earlier thoughts back — I feel blessed to be out here.

“You’re right, Romulus, this is amazing,” I say as I float through the air, wiggling my toes, a smile on my face… “…Romulus?”

I whip around and my heart leaps into my throat. Romulus is stumbling down the side of a hill, his fingers grabbing at the ground for support, but finding only loose dirt. Our suits are tethered to one another, so a moment later, I’m jerked in his direction, flying through the air.

He grabs a rock, holding on with all his might, and to my delight he stops his fall. For a moment I was worried sick right down to my stomach, and not just for my own survival or for my mission, but for Romulus.

The intensity of it surprises me. I mean, not like I care about the giant

Romulus has stopped, but the force of the jerk that pulled me in his direction is still in full effect, and I drift past him, seemingly in slow-motion

Fuck.

“Watch out!” I scream, but it’s too late.

I can’t do anything but helplessly drift through the air. The Elban warrior is standing at the ready, his boots planted firmly on the ground, but the force is simply too strong. I pull him off his feet and, to my horror, he flies off the hill, face-forward, falling, stumbling, rolling down towards a lake.

A lake.

I don’t know what’s in there, but I know it’s not good for your health. This isn’t some spa. This is a frozen, inhospitable planet. My heart goes into overdrive, panic overriding all of my senses.

I have to do something. I land on my two feet, grip the rope with two hands and swing it around a rock, digging my boots as far into the soft ground as possible.

Please work.

Please.

The line tightens, and Romulus’s weight nearly yanks me off my feet… but my plan works. Romulus climbs to his feet and back up the hill.

“Holy shit,” I say into my head set. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine,” he answers as he dusts his suit off. “Why wouldn’t I be?”

“What? You could have died back there!”

Romulus shrugs. “All in a days work.”

I can’t believe he’s being so glib about it. My heart is still pounding!

“Well, I’ve had enough excitement for one day,” I say. “Lets go back.”

“Are you sure?”

Very.”
