The Devils Baby (The Devils Soldiers mc Book 2) by Cilla Lee (36)

Chapter Thirty-Six

Niya

Were all sitting in the waiting room of the hospital when the doctors come out and Jaxson stands up

“Well” he asks

“Your brother has a stable blood pressure suggesting that he hadn't lost a critical amount of blood, he had a slightly elevated pulse and breathing rate and slightly reduced oxygen saturation's. We've got him on oxygen to help him breath, with the removal of the dressing or the plug. Which was smart, the exit wound was an open pneumothorax. X-rays showed he had a small amount of blood that had collected in his chest but with draining we see thankfully the bullet hadn't done any major damage. We've sedated and cleaned the wound for now, where getting ready to move him up to ICU unit to be monitored until he's totally stable”

“I thought you said he was stable” Jaxson asks the doctor

“With gun shots wounds we can never tell, we'll keep him up there for a few days and take it from there”

“So, we just wait” Zoey moves forward and she takes Jaxson’s hand and he looks down at her

“Unfortunately, we have to until your brother improves and wakes up” (please let him be ok)

“He's ganna be fine, back to his grumpy ass in no time” he tells Zoey, she nods her head but I can see she's not convinced. Jordan was in Hospital for over a month recovering, He stopped anyone but the guys from visiting and I don't know if it's was a macho thing not wanting us to see him weak, Jaxson was great updating us all the time on how he was doing but today he was back at the clubhouse and the boys were putting on a huge party for him.

I was so excited to see how Jordan was doing, Jaxson had been giving me updates but I really wanted to see him. I hadn't asked Colt what happened to Zane but I knew. Kylie's dad had been beaten up one night while he was on duty and had taken a leave of absence, I only found that out when I got to school and Lisa told me all about it, apparently they moved out of town and the gossip mongers had made it into something huge like they had to go into witness protection or the mob had actually killed them all loads of stories where going around, but I knew it was the club that them leave, I really was going to miss Kylie thought she was a great friend, Jordan had been right about his hunch Kylie’s dad was using her to pass on false information so I really didn’t feel sorry for what happened to him but I really would miss my friend. I sat in the back seat of Niya's truck and watched as the clubhouse came into few a huge welcome home Jordan sign was up and the party was in full swing. I jumped out and looked around Stryker coming over and putting his arm over my shoulders

“What are you doin' her pip squeak?” he asks rubbing my head messing my hair up, that I took an hour to do so I’d look good, I punched him in the ribs pushing him away

“Piss off Stryker” he laughs as Lilly comes over and he pulls her to him

“Ignore him sweetie” she says as he kisses her and I cringe

“Ok that's gross, where's Jordan” I ask Stryker, he looks at me

“He's busy squeak” (oh god he fucking one or all of the whores) I look around to see which ones aren't here. I see Gypsy with Gunner Bliss and Nancy with Nash Sun-shine kitty and Saffron are all standing talking and Sherry is sitting on Cuffs lap which leaves Tanya and Summer (god fucking dammit) I play it off like it's no big deal and I shrug my shoulders and smile

“Well at least he's feeling better” I say trying to act like the guy I'm totally in love with, isn't in the clubhouse fucking two whores. I make it to the table and Jaxson comes walking out of the clubhouse with a tray full of burgers

“Hay” he says

“Hay yourself” he looks me up and down smiling

“Love the look” I’d gone all out to look good straightening my hair crop top and slim high wasted jeans with sandals

“Why thankyou”

“Dam I can't believe your only fifteen”

“Yeah, well she is fucker, so go do something” Stryker says frowning at Jaxson, I frown at Stryker

“That was rude” I tell him

“No, it wasn't saved that boy an ass whoopin, if Colt heard him talk like that he'd get his ass knocked the fuck out” I roll my eyes and sit down, I watch the clubhouse door for hours but there still wasn't any sign of Jordan

*

“Hay Zoe you ok” Maggie asks me as I sit there drinking my soda

“I’m good”

“Nice day for a party”

“Yeah would be even better if the guest of honor was here” I say and Maggie looks at me and frowns

“Zoey, Jordan’s too old for you darlin’” I roll my eyes at her

“Maggie, he almost died in my arms, I just want to see that he’s ok” she pats me on the knee

“Trust me he’s fine” (yeah fine, fucking the whores)

“You ready to go Zoey” Niya asks and I nod (yes please get me the hell out of here)

“Yeah” I tell her really needing to get out of here

“Hay you ok” she asks me I smile nodding my head

“I'm good let’s go home” I tell her and take Logan from her and walk to the car, I look up at the clubhouse and see him standing at the window. I wave and he gives me a chin lift, then two arms hug him from the back and he disappears. The smile I had moment ago disappears and my nose tingles (hold it together) I tell myself over and over

“Zoey” Niya says and I look at her and smile even though I just had my heart ripped out “You ok” she asks me and I nod

“Let’s go home than” she says smiling, I put Logan in his car seat and take one last look at the window I’d seen Jordan at. But he’s not there, I jump into the car and don’t look back as she drives out of the compound my heart a little broken.

Life got back to normal after Jordan got back home the club was in a good place there were no enemies lurking around the corner. Brandy had decided to move out but not far she got her own apartment in town and was working at the Den, life was good for now. Zoey was still working at the garage and was looking forward to her sixteenth Birthday in two days, she’d been reading her driving book for the past week just counting down the days until she got her license. Something I wasn’t looking forward to, but I trusted her she was smart and had a lot of common sense for a teenager.

Sitting on the front porch nursing Logan life seemed amazing, I had the man of my dreams an amazing little boy a fantastic sister and a family that meant the world to me. Love freedom and contentment that’s was what life was worth living for and I was living it every day……
