The Knocked Up Game: A Secret Baby Sports Romance by Hart, Kara, Hart, Kara (28)

Epilogue: Jacqueline

As the plane touches down in Cabo, Lawrence starts gathering everything from the overhead compartments. The three children follow suit, climbing over their mother, while holding their tablets.

“Guys!” I whisper-yell. “Not yet. George, don’t make me tell you twice. You know better.”

George, now thirteen looks up at me with defiance, yet he knows not to disobey me. He’s got the tenacity of his father, that’s for sure. The stewardess looks about as unimpressed as me, but she’s looking at Lawrence.

“Sir, you have to wait until the plane is fully stopped to get your things. Please sit back down,” she says.

Lawrence groans, but keeps that charming smile on his face.

“I’m just so antsy,” he says.

Then a different look comes across her face. I feel my own face start to get hot with a little jealousy, but I keep it at bay. We’ve been together through everything hard, awful, and beautiful. There’s no reason for me to get jealous, especially at the start of our vacation.

“This is kind of awkward,” the stewardess says, “But aren’t you that hockey player? Lawrence Jones?”

“Uh,” Lawrence chuckles lightly and looks over at me. “Yeah, I used to play a little hockey. You caught me.”

“Oh, and this must be your wife! I’m sorry for invading your privacy like this. I hope you have a great time in Mexico,” she says. “I grew up watching you play. My dad was a huge hockey guy. We’re from Chicago actually. I remember seeing your story on TV years ago. It’s wonderful seeing you both together still, and with such a big family too!”

At this particular moment George has begun wrestling with Charlie over the tablet. Kayla has somehow begun crying. It’s a mess. A total mess.

“Give it to me!” Charlie says. “It’s mine!”

“It’s no problem. It’s really nice to meet you,” Lawrence says. The bell that alerts people it’s okay to stand up sounds.

“Before you go, would you be able to do me one favor,” she asks Lawrence.

I feel my face grow hot again. It doesn’t help that Charlie has now started to poke me in the back, for no apparent reason at all.

“Can you sign this for me?” The woman reaches into her pocket, glancing at her gawking co-workers.

Lawrence nearly rolls his eyes. It’s been years since he’s done this sort of thing. He hasn’t played for the NHL for nearly a decade now. He’s too focused on his non-profit at this point. After a while, the bruises began to take their toll on the old guy. I laugh at myself when I think the word “old.” It’s weird even saying that word aloud. Most of the time, it feels like we just met.

“Sure, I’ll sign it,” he says. “Who do I make it out to?”

“Amber,” she says, giggling.

Lawrence signs the piece of paper and she thanks him. We exit the plane.

He leans in my ear to whisper, “That doesn’t happen much these days, now does it?” He laughs to himself and shakes his head.

“Those games were special to people,” I say.

“You want to know what’s even more special?” he asks. “You.”

“Okay, big player. Enough of the cheese,” I say.

When we get to the private beach, I watch all of our kids run into the shallow edges of the water. The older boys dare to go further, thrashing in the waves. I feel goodness in my heart, knowing I found the only place I’d ever want to be.

Lawrence walks up behind me, holding two glasses. His chest shines against the sun. “I made us two piña coladas.”

“You look hot,” I say, taking a glass.

He laughs and flexes. “I’m old,” he says. “But you, my kitten, are hotter than ever.”

“Thanks,” I say. “I feel pretty hot, even though I’m old too.”

“A toast to being old and hot,” Lawrence says. We laugh and clink our glasses together.

At the top of my glass is a pineapple wedge. I reach for the fruit and immediately notice the ring on top. Against the sun, it sparkles. My heart starts to pound quickly.

“What is this?” I ask him, slowly taking it into my palm.

“Happy anniversary,” he says, kneeling down against the sand.

“Lawrence,” I whisper. I get the feels. All emotions come at me.

“Here. Hold out your hand,” he says.

He takes the ring and slips it onto my finger. “You are the infinite,” he says. “You’re everything. My one and only.”

I hold back my tears. “You are too,” I whisper.

“I still can’t believe I get to spend my life with you,” he says.

I hold my hand out into the air and look at the diamond ring. “It’s so beautiful,” I say.

I look back down and he’s kneeling still. He’s in between my legs, grinning.

“Sure, but I’m looking at something more beautiful.”

I carefully eye the children. They’re playing safely in the shallow area. I look back at Lawrence and smile. I open my legs slightly. He snatches the center of my bikini and slowly pulls it to the side.

“I’ve got a gift for you too,” I say. “Except, you have to open it inside the house.”

“It better be easy to unwrap,” he says.

I sit up from my chair and walk back to the beach front property. Lawrence glances back at the kids and shouts out, “George! You’re the man of the house right now. Watch your siblings and make sure everyone’s safe. We forgot something at the house!”

“Sure thing, dad!” he yells.

Within seconds, Lawrence is running toward me. He grabs my waist and forces me over his shoulders. I scream, laughing, as he carries me to the bedroom. He throws me onto the bed.

“How about we play a game,” he says.

“Sure,” I say. “Only this time, I make the rules.”

“Oh yeah?” He grins and steps back.

I slowly push my bikini down, past my ankles. I run my hand over the smooth skin of my thighs.

“What are the rules?” he asks.

“There are only three rules,” I say. “One. Get that face between my legs. Two. Tease me. Three. Make me cum over and over again.”

Guess what? He doesn’t hesitate one moment.

“Don’t mind if I do,” he says.
