The Valentines Day Proposal by Bella Winters (38)

Chapter 8

The next several weeks were like a new chapter in life for Katy. Everything about her world changed after that first night at Brennon’s place. Their meet-ups downtown became somewhat of a regular thing. After a few of those, Brennon surprised Katy one day. He called from the school parking lot shortly after the school buses filled with children pulled off, saying he was outside with Greek Salads. Katy was so wonderfully surprised that she nearly tripped and fell rushing toward the back of the school building to let Brennon inside.

As the fall slipped into the early stages of winter, the cold bite in the air seemed different this year for Katy. Her relationship with Brennon, which had long been as Melanie’s older brother, was no transforming into a genuine friendship. They had so much in common. Brennon even went as far as to get Katy in touch with some teachers who moved forward with becoming a principal so she could talk to them and get some idea as to what to expect on her own journey. She thanked Brennon. His wisdom and guidance were truly amazing and cherished, and she was grateful for that.

Katy loved their walks in the parks. Brennon introduced her to some of the other beautiful parks in the city that she hadn’t even known existed. If the background or landscape was iconic enough, as Brennon would always say, Katy would get her phone out and take a selfie. These pictures weren’t to be uploaded to anywhere; rather, they were for Katy to look at at night when she was lying in bed and to think about. There was something about having a secret relationship going with Brennon that made it all the more thrilling. As time passed, they made love more regularly. There were afternoons where Katy was just about to hop onto the interstate when Brennon would text her, suggesting maybe she stop by his place before heading back out to the country. And she always obliged, which led to passionate lovemaking unlike anything she had ever dreamed.

Katy looked at her phone throughout the night. Fall had come and gone rather quickly, it seemed. And now December had shown up packing a bit of a bunch. Shortly after November passed on by, the temperatures dropped drastically. After a couple weeks of random up and down temperatures and days of snow showers, a cold chill had moved into the area and brought with it several inches of snow. Katy watched her phone impatiently, expecting, and somewhat hoping, that the automated system would call and say that school was canceled for in the morning. She loved her students as if they were her own children, but she could sure use tomorrow as a day off. Just the idea of driving down barely-plowed rural roads to get to the interstate sent fear riveting through her when she thought about her morning commute into the city.

“Oh, Sara,” Katy said, looking down into a pile of papers on her bed she had spent the better part of the evening grading. Sara was a student who was clearly very bright and intelligent, but like many of her other students, there were issues at home that surely affected the child’s learning abilities. And Katy could see it in the little girl’s grades. This was the third paper this night from Sara where she got most of the answers wrong when other students didn’t. “I’m going to have to figure out how to work with her.”

Just as Katy moved on to grading the next student’s paper, the wind howled and pummeled her bedroom window. Her head jerked up and she looked out. She then stood up, parted the curtains, and looked out at the steeples down in town. Snow drifts and white hills made seeing anything far away a bit difficult. When Katy turned around to sit back down and get on with grading, her phone rang. She anxiously grabbed her phone, truly expecting it to be the school's automated system saying that school would be canceled for tomorrow. She was far from let down when she discovered it was Brennon calling. She smiled as she answered. “Hello?”

“Hey,” Brennon said. Katy found Brennon’s phone voice to be so smoothing. “I’m not disturbing you from doing anything, am I? I meant to text you, but I’m driving now. Thinking about heading out your way.”

“Thinking about heading out my way?” Katy asked. She couldn’t help but to look up and out at the snowy hills. “And no, I’m not doing anything super important, I guess you could say. I’m grading these papers. So many of them. I’m going to have to have the kids start doing more coloring book exercises. Make it easier on me.”

Brennon chuckled. “Yep! That’s the way to go. I played many a movie in my days of elementary teaching. Just make worksheets that go along with the movies and set those little buggers down in front of the television.” He chuckled again. “So...yeah, I’m thinking about heading out your way.”

“For what?” Katy asked, dropping her pen and little Roger’s worksheets. “Brennon, you know how bad it’s snowing, right? Plus, if I’m not mistaken, my mom and dad are both home right now. You remember I was telling you how both of them are starting to ask these little questions because they notice I’m not home as much. I know they think I have a guy friend of something, not that it matters. You weren’t trying to come over and visit with them, were you? You know my father can and will talk your head off.” She scoffed and rolled her eyes.

“Oh, Katy,” Brennon said. “Don’t say it like that. And no, that’s not exactly what I was thinking. I was thinking about coming and picking you up so maybe we could do a little riding around.” “Riding around?” Katy asked. She couldn’t believe what Brennon was proposing. She only drove in the snow when she absolutely had to. “In this snow? Brennon, are you serious?”

“Yup, I sure am,” Brennon said. “I’m on the highway out to see you right now.”

Katy stood up and glanced down at herself. It had been one of those days where she came home from the school and changed into sweat pants and an old t-shirt. Her hair looked every bit of disheveled. She certainly hadn’t been in the frame of mind to where she thought she was be braving the burgeoning snowstorm outside of her window. “So, you’re serious? You’re really on the way out here.”

Katy listened as Brennon named off the exit he was approaching, as well as a river the interstate crossed over. “Okay, okay,” she said. “I’ll go ahead and get changed. Wait… Where would I meet you? Do you want me to drive to that shopping center plaza thing again and we meet there?”

“No, that’s okay,” Brennon said. “I can just pull up in the yard and you come out and get in and we leave. Unless you don’t want to.”

Katy darted over to her bedroom door and pulled it open so she could see if her parents were still home. No sooner than she stepped into the hallway had she heard her father downstairs on the phone. Furthermore, from the sound of things, her mother was down the hall in their bedroom cleaning out something. Katy watched as she sat a few boxes of junk in the hall outside of the bedroom door.

“Um,” she said, now focusing back on Brennon. “I have an idea.”

For the next couple of minutes, Katy and Brennon went back and forth with where would be a good place to meet. Katy admitted she just wasn’t in the mood to answer the inevitable questions that would come her way if either of her parents got a glimpse of Brennon in the driveway. The secret lovers wound up deciding on meeting at a Circle K gas station at the nearest busy intersection between where she lived and the interstate exit. When Katy hung up, she was lost in a moment of confusion then she darted around her room as she changed clothes and got ready to go.

“I don’t believe this,” Katy mumbled to herself, unable to wipe the smile away from herself. She hated driving in the snow, but there was something about sneaking away with Brennon that made her the least bit worrisome. Within ten minutes, she had changed into a nice pair of black leggings, a white sweater she rarely wore with a thick-necked collar, and had even grabbed her earmuffs. After sliding into some booths, she teased her hair a bit then grabbed her keys and headed downstairs.

Katy purposely moved as quietly as she could as she headed down the steps. From the sounds of it, her father was still on the phone, but she couldn’t decipher which room. Her mother was still setting things out into the hallway from her and her husband’s bedroom. Katy managed to slip by their bedroom without catching her mother’s attention. When she got to the bottom of the steps, her father had been walking around the living room while he talked on the phone – a habit he and his siblings always had, or so Katy noticed throughout her life. Katy waited at the bottom of the staircase for her father to pace himself clear to the other side of the long rectangular-shaped room then pulled the front door open and rushed out onto the porch.

“Oh wow,” Katy said as she pulled the door shut. A strong wind was whipping through the area; some of the taller, thin trees swayed side to side. The snow drifts climbed the few steps leading up from the buried walkway onto the porch. Katy quickly turned her back to the wind; clumps of snow landed on her face, some getting caught in her eyelashes.

Katy pushed through the window snowstorm and made it to her car. She took deep breaths, getting over the stinging on the sides of her face and her earlobes. If this had been for Eve or any of her other friends, she might’ve ran back into the house and simply told them the weather was too bad to come out. However, being that this was for Brennon, and that their secret relationship was blossoming without the questioning eyes of interfering family members, all of that didn’t matter. Katy started her car then carefully headed down the slightly slop driveway and out onto the road.

Katy pulled into the Circle K parking lot ten minutes later and parked off to the side, well out of the way of any customers coming into the lot. She was just about to call Brennon when she saw his car pull into the lot off of the road. He then pulled up next to her. Brennon was starting to get out of the car to open Katy’s door, but Katy beat him to it. In what seemed like the blink of an eye, Katy had jumped out of her car and into Brennon’s front passenger seat.

“Well, dang,” Brennon said, backing up and heading out onto the road. “I was about to open the door for you.”

“That’s okay,” Katy said, buckling herself in. When she finished, she smiled at Brennon. They leaned in and kissed one another briefly. “So, what is going on?”

“What do you mean what is going on?” Brennon asked. “I thought we could just go for a ride.”

“A ride?” Katy asked, looking at the snowy road ahead of them. “A ride in the snow? Really?””

“Yes, really,” Brennon said, smiling and nodding. “I love the snow. I’ve been waiting on this.”

“You love the snow?” Katy asked. “Funny you never mentioned that.”
“Oh, I’m sure I did,” Brennon said. “You probably just weren’t listening. You know how you women are. Only want to hear what you want to hear.”

Katy glanced over at Brennon with sharp eyes then smiled. “Hmm, hmm. So, what got into you? You just wanted to come all the way out here and pick me up so we could drive around in all this snow?”

Brennon nodded. “Yes, why is that so hard to believe? People go for rides in the summer, so why can’t you go in the winter? Car still runs.” He chuckled. “I love the snow.” He came up to a stoplight and rubbed his hands together with excitement. “I especially like how pretty the city looks. Do you have school tomorrow? I would think they would cancel class of tomorrow.”

Katy sighed. “Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking too. I was waiting for the machine, you know, to call and say that, but still hasn’t yet.”

“Oh, I see,” Brennon said.

Brennon and Katy both talked about their days as Brennon made his way to the interstate. They headed toward the city. Katy had just finished telling him about a few of her problem students.

“So, enough about those kids,” Katy said. She glanced out at the white blanketed woods hugging either side of the interstate. “So, you still haven’t really said where we’re going.”

“Oh,” Brennon said, almost as if he hadn’t even thought about it. “I don’t know either. I didn’t really think about all that to be honest. I was just happy to be spending this snowy evening with you.”

Katy smiled and blushed while looking over at Brennon. “Hmm, hmm. You know how you men are. Say anything to a girl to make her feel something.”

Brennon chuckled under his breath, but decided against saying anything. “So, I have an idea. There is this neighborhood I look to drive around, on the other side of downtown from where we were that one night.” He chuckled. “And this park has a beautiful view of downtown. I want to see what it looks like in this kind of winter storm.”

“Okay, I guess,” Katy said. “Whatever you said. If we get stuck somewhere, what’s the plan?”

“Stuck somewhere?” Brennon asked, laughing. “Well, I guess we’ll just have to live in the car until we’re not stuck anymore.”

Katy looked over at Brennon with sharp eyes yet again. “Oh, is that the plan? What will we do about food?”

Again, Brennon playfully acted as if he hadn’t even thought about that. “You know… all that doesn’t really matter to me as long as I’m with you, Katy.” He smiled. “You know?”

“Hmm, hmm,” Katy said. “You sure are one with words. What happened to you writing that book?”

The secret lovers laughed at their back and forth sarcasm then talked on and on about anything as Brennon drove into the city. Once they got downtown, he got off of the interstate and zigzagged through downtown until crossing the Second Street Bridge and entering Indiana.

“The city is beautiful when it’s covered in a fresh layer of snow,” Katy admitted. Because of how the street curved after they crossed the bridge, Katy could look back at downtown and the river banks leading up to a cluster of office towers. “Truly, it is beautiful.”

Brennon talked about his love for snow and how important it was as a child to him to have a white Christmas – snowball fights with his friends; failed attempts at building igloos; his parents making him go out and shovel the walkway. The latter gave him a chance to play around with his friends if his mom and dad weren’t paying attention too closely.

Before they knew it, Brennon turned down a side street and carefully rolled down the next couple of blocks, fearing a car on a cross street might not be able to stop in time for whatever reason. Next thing Katy knew, he was pulling the car into a park with curvy, tree-lined lanes. She’d never been here before, but the name did sound somewhat familiar. It was very clear this park must’ve been stellar during the summer; however, winter’s touch – heavy, white snow blowing up across the road and over picnic tables – sure did add a sparkle to it.

Brennon mumbled about trying to find the same place where he had parked one of the other times he’d been to this park. Just as the road curved to the other side of the park and the wooded area between the park and the river banks opened up, Katy’s eyes bulged. The view of downtown from this park was indeed stunning. Brennon looked over at her, chuckling, as he pulled into a parking spot. He undid his seat belt after putting the car in PARK. “I thought you hated the winter. Hmm, hmm.”

“Oh, stop it,” Katy said, playfully tapping Brennon’s shoulder. “I love the view though.” Because of the parks slopes, the car sat up at a perfect position to see out over the tops of some of the trees.

“Yeah, I’m glad I found it,” Brennon said. “I came here sometime last year. Was riding around and looking at possible houses to buy and saw some good ones up this way, so I saw this and always remembered it.”

Katy looked out at downtown. The evening sky was quickly darkening. The snow showers were off and on, but Katy didn’t mine. While she and Brennon talked, he adjusted the heat according to how toasty it had gotten in the car. They talked on and on, neither of them wanting to stop to let the other talk at times. When the conversation came to a long pause, Katy felt Brennon’s eyes burning a hole in the side of her face. Before she could say anything, Brennon leaned in, with a smile on his face, and started kissing Katy passionately. When their lips parted, Katy looked into Brennon’s eyes. “Oh wow. What was that about?”

Brennon chuckled. “So, what are you trying to say?” he asked. “That I can’t kiss you?”

Katy chuckled. “No, I didn’t say I didn’t like it.” She pressed her lips back into Brennon’s lips and kissed him once again. “See.”

Brennon chuckled. He then looked around the snowy parking lot, at the trees lining the lane leading back to the neighborhood street. “So, what’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?”

Katy’s forehead scrunched up. “Craziest thing I’ve ever done? What do you mean by that, Brennon?”

“I mean what’s the wildest, riskiest thing you’ve ever done?” Brennon asked and leaned back in his seat. “I know your parents raised you a certain way, so I think you probably weren’t all that adventurous growing up, but I was just wondering what’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done.”

Just as Katy was trying to decipher what Brennon meant by such a question, she noticed how Brennon raised his eyebrows. Just then, she realized exactly why he was asking that sort of question. Her initial reaction was to look around the park and see if anyone else was around, which was unlikely with the ridiculous snowdrifts. “Are you serious?” she finally asked after a long pause of looking into Brennon’s eyes.

Again, Brennon raised his eyebrows suggestively then shrugged. “Why not? We’re here, right? Isn’t the view lovely.”

“Isn’t the view lovely?” Katy said then scoffed. For the next several seconds, she truly thought Brennon had to be joking. Did he really want to have sex out in the car, in this parking lot? Just the thought of doing something like that made Katy’s heart flutter in her chest. Before she knew it, Brennon slid his hand down between her thighs. “In the park, Brennon? In the car, in the park? Really?”

Brennon glanced around. “Sure, why not?” He leaned in and gently kissed Katy’s neck. At first, she placed her hand on his head with the intention, or reaction, to push him away. However, his soft lips tingled against her skin. Katy hadn’t even realized that her mouth hung open as her head leaned up toward the car’s ceiling.

“Brennon, but in a car?” Katy asked, still trying to make sense of what Brennon was saying. “In the park?”

“Yup,” Brennon said confidently. “Katy, look how much it’s snowing. I doubt anybody will see. The car is already being covered all over again with snow. Look at the windows.”

Katy took note of how the back window as well as the side windows were quickly being blanketed with another layer of snow. Brennon slyly turned off the windshield wipers and allowed Katy to see how quickly the windshield was being blanketed with another layer of snow. Katy smiled. Even though she saw all the reasons not to, something was telling her to go for it. And she knew just how crazy something like this was. “Brennon, I don’t know. I can only imagine what would happen if the police pulled up. I could wind up on the news.”

Brennon’s lips pressed together and he looked away. “Yeah, me too. And just think what your parents would say then.” He laughed.

Katy chuckled, even though she was more than sure her parents’ reactions would be something she heard, and felt, for decades to come.

“You know what I’m going to do?” Brennon asked, looking back into the backseat. “I’m just going to get in the backseat and maybe take a little nap or something. If you want to join, you’re welcome to jump back there and join me.”

Katy watched in disbelief as Brennon climbed into the backseat. She talked about how crazy this was, but something made her want to do it. She realized how right Brennon was. She’d never done anything really risky. In fact, her secret relationship with her father’s cousin’s older half-brother was probably the riskiest thing she’d ever been apart of, aside from skipping school once back in high school. Within a few seconds, and after some groans from making young people moves even though he was quickly approaching forty, Brennon was in the backseat. He looked at Katy with questioning eyes as he playfully leaned over on the backseat and closed his eyes, pretending to take a nap.

Katy looked around the parking lot. She couldn’t help but to notice how quickly the car’s windows were being covered with snow. After a few minutes of thinking of every reason she shouldn’t climb into the backseat with Brennon, her heart wanting her to pushed her to rise up out of the seat and follow suit.

“Oh, you’re coming back here now, huh?” Brennon asked, his eyes popping open.

“Oh, stop it,” Katy said as she squeezed between the seats. Before she could comfortably sit down, Brennon was all over her. He kissed her neck then pulled down the collar to her sweater and gently kissed the top of her cleavage. Katy moaned and kicked her legs a bit. This sensation sent tingles down her spine. She then embraced Brennon in a passionate kiss that fogged up the snow-covered windows. Without her even realizing it, her legs wrapped around his back and locked his body against hers.

Katy looked up into Brennon’s blue eyes when he finally pulled his face away from hers. She delicately ran the tips of her fingers down the side of his face then behind his ear. With how the car windows was covered with snow, Katy totally forgot about the rest of the world. She and Brennon stared into one another’s eyes for the next several seconds then passionately kissed once again.

“See what you have me doing,” Brennon said. “I’m a gentlemen and here you got me in the backseat of a car in the snow at a park. Tsk, tsk, tsk.”
Katy chuckled, wrapping her arms around Brennon’s neck. She kissed him then pressed her hand into his chest, forcing him to lean back. “Get up.”

Brennon chuckled then let Katy take the lead. Katy’s excitement pushed her to taking a dominant role. Acting like a bitch-in-charge, she climbed up onto the seat with Brennon sitting back, his legs spread. She straddled him, placing a knee on either side of his body. She giggled while pressing her chest into Brennon’s face. Brennon played back, of course, pressing his head into her chest like a horny teenager. Katy loved frolicking with Brennon; the fact that she was in a park just on the other side of downtown didn’t mean a thing. The wind howled; the car rocked slightly.

“Close your eyes,” Katy told Brennon. “I have a surprise for you.”

Brennon’s forehead scrunched up and he looked at Katy with questioning eyes, but nonetheless he closed them and waited anxiously for the surprise. Katy, feeling extra playful considering the circumstances, lifted her sweater up then reached around and unfastened her bra. When she pulled it off, through her sleeve, she held her sweater up and playfully pressed her breasts into Brennon’s face. She looked down and found him to smiling like a kid on Christmas, enjoying the way her breasts slammed against either side of his face. Once he got to the point where he couldn’t help himself, he grabbed Katy’s breasts with both hands and squeezed gently. Katy bit her bottom lip and closed her eyes, sighing from the pleasure.

“Oh, Katy,” Brennon said, now pulling his head away from her cleavage and kissing her passionately. “Katy, come on.” He raised his eyebrows suggestively once again. “Katy.”

Katy was gone from her emotions in a way she never had been before. She rubbed Brennon chest while she kissed him. She then pulled her sweater off and tossed it, it slamming against the car window then falling to the floor. Brennon himself pulled his pants down then spread his legs far apart. The world literally stopped spinning there in the car, and the snow refused to let up.

“Brennon,” Katy said softly after getting her own pants off. She straddled Brennon once again, reaching down and wrapping her hands around his hard cock. “This is so crazy.”

Brennon chuckled under his breath. “And that’s okay. Katy, I’ve been thinking about you all day.” He kissed her. “Really, I have.”

Katy giggled then raised up a bit, still gripping Brennon’s shaft. She looked into his eyes, kissed him again, then allowed him to lean in once again and kiss her nipples. She lowered herself down onto Brennon’s cock. A wince erupted from her lips from the initial stretch. But what was to come was pure pleasure.

Katy felt Brennon bury his face in her chest while she got used to him. She then started raising up and down. Brennon leaned back, gripping her waist with his hands while curse words slipped out of his mouth. Katy held her weight for a few minutes, but eventually Brennon had to take control. Katy almost felt powerless with how Brennon lifted her body up and down effortlessly on his cock. She moaned, even screamed at time. Brennon continued to kiss her chest then she leaned down and kissed him passionately. The windows seemed to fog up instantly.

Several minutes passed then Brennon stopped, allowing Katy to straddle on top of him for a moment while he caught his breath. She giggled, wiping the sweat away from his brow.

“Oh, so you think something is funny, huh?” Brennon asked, smiling.

Before Katy could get passed her own giggle and respond, Brennon quickly wrapped his arms around her lower back then forced her over onto the seat beside them. Next thing she knew, she was staring into his blue eyes. He looked at her with a commanding stare – one that almost invoked fear. Brennon stroked deeply into her insides with her legs wrapped around his back. Katy kissed him and smiled, forgetting whatever she was going to say. She simply closed her eyes while Brennon made sweet love to her in the snow-covered car. He whispered in her ear then licked her lobe every so often; his adoration of her chest was cute, to say the least, but also a bit turn on for Katy.

“Brennon! I’m about to come!” Katy announced.

Brennon smiled and told Katy how beautiful she was then started pounding harder. Katy had been about to say something, but her head bouncing back and forth on the seat from Brennon’s weight put a stop to that. She felt her insides tensing up; Brennon himself pressed his eyes tightly closed. Katy announced when she came then Brennon himself, being given away by his groans, started grunting Katy’s name. Katy’s legs thralled around, wanting the passion to not stop, but she knew they couldn't be out in this park parking lot all night.

A loud groan escaped Brennon’s lips as he came then the two lovers breathed deeply, heads lying side by side. They stayed in this position for the next several minutes until Brennon lifted up, got passed the post-orgasm aura, then climbed back into the front seat. He waited patiently, wiping the sweat from his forehead, while Katy got herself together and climbed back into the front seat as well.

“Look what you made me do,” Brennon chuckled while turning the windshield wipers back on. “I was back there, all by myself, minding my business and look what you made me do.”

Katy looked over at Brennon and squinted. “Yeah, yeah, whatever. I hope when we pull off, there’s not ten police cars and the local news waiting to bust us.”

Brennon laughed then opened the car door, grabbing the scraper out of the trunk, and cleaning off the windows. When he got back inside, he told a couple of jokes about all the police cars, news crew vans, and helicopters flying over the park. He then pulled out of the parking spot and headed for the neighborhood street so he could make his way back through downtown.

“So, what happened to riding around?” Katy asked when they came out of the cluster of skyscrapers.

Brennon chuckled. “Okay, let’s ride around before I take you back home so you can get ready for work tomorrow.”

Katy realized her phone hadn’t rang in all this time. She pressed the back of her head into the seat and sighed. “Oh, don’t remind me. Look at all this snow. And I’ll have to be out in it in the morning. No telling how bad it would be.”

Brennon suggested she spend the night at his place, but Katy let him know that there were several things she would have to get at home and all that riding around wouldn’t be fair to him. Just as Brennon was rationalizing, saying he didn’t have a problem with obliging her, Katy’s phone rang. It was the school district’s automated system...letting her know that school would be canceled in the morning.
