Uncaged (Havoc MC Book 1) by L.A. Boles (3)

Chapter Three

Diablo

Skull rides next to me all the way back to the Compound. The Havoc Compound is an old brick warehouse that my brother, Skull and I own. Skull is my blood brother. He prospected for the club straight after high school, following in my footsteps, something he’s done since we were kids. Pulling up to the Compound, Joker, who has been prospecting for the club for a little over a year, is working the gate that surrounds the property. He has worked hard this past year, and will soon earn his bottom rocker.

Havoc has several acres in a rural part of Sage, California. It’s a small town about an hour off the northern coast. The land is covered in trees, making it harder for the cops to spy on us. Hidden in the trees, we have a couple dozen cameras, motion detectors, and other deterrents. No one is getting on Havoc property without every brother and prospect running to the source of the intrusion with guns ready.

We pull into the parking lot and I pull to the front of the bikes lined in a neat row. Skull parks next to me, and we both head inside. Upon entering, I’m hit with the smell of weed, cigarettes, and pussy. It’s a scent I'm used to, and strangely comforted by. I don’t partake in weed or cigarettes, but I get pussy as often as I can. Sweetbutts are willing and ready whenever I have the urge.

At the bar, Preacher is having a drink with Axel, Smoke, and Lexa. Axel and Lexa are twins. Axel has been a brother since he was twenty and Lexa has been around just as long.

“Yo’ Prez.”

“Preacher,” I say to the older brother. Preacher is an old timer, someone that has been in the club since the beginning. He’s been a member longer than I’ve been born and still serves as the club’s Chaplin and resident psychologist. I nod to the others.

“Hey, baby,” I hear Kris say. Turning my attention to the red head tottering toward me on her heels. “You gonna let me make you feel good tonight?”

“Yeah. Go to my room. Be naked when I get there,” I say as I toss my room key to her.

“You got it, Daddy,” Kris purrs as she slinks away. Normally the promise of pussy would have me hard and ready, but I haven’t been able to get Diamond off my mind since seeing her at the club.

“Axel, I need you to dig up everything you can on the bartender at The Jungle. Her name is Diamond.”

“I’m on it,” he says and stands. He leans down to kiss his sister on the cheek, then he turns and walks away from the bar toward his room. Axel is our computer whiz. He has every piece of computer equipment you can imagine, and can hack anything. His skills have come in handy several times.

I see the question in Preacher’s eyes, but I don’t answer his unspoken question. I want to know more about Diamond for my own sick curiosity, and it’s no one else’s fucking business.

“Let me know what you find,” I say. I turn to walk to my room.

Entering my room, Kris is kneeling on the floor by the bed naked, in the position I like. Her head is down and her small hands are resting gracefully on her thighs, palms up. She has learned well. I’ve been sleeping with Kris for months, but occasionally, we add Hazel, another sweetbutt to the mix.

“Good girl.”

She shifts her head to look at me as I stand in front of her.

“Take my dick out,” I instruct.

Kris scrambles to unbuckle my belt. Pulling out my cock, she sucks it into her mouth. The suction is right, just like I taught her, but as I run my hand through her hair, it’s silky straight, not unruly and curly.

Although I’ve never touched Diamond’s hair, I can imagine the texture, and it’s nothing like Kris’. I try to enjoy the mouth engulfing me, but for once I don’t. I wish it was the short knockout with defiance in her eyes blowing me instead.

“Mmm.” Her moaning turns me off more.

I try to get my mind off Diamond, but those large dark eyes haunt me. Wrapping my hand around Kris’ hair, I can’t stand it any longer.

“Get out,” I demand as I pull my shaft from her wet lips. A smacking sound rings out as I remove myself from her expert jaws.

“What?”

“I said get out!” I thunder.

She scrambles to get to her feet as I grab her dress and heels, tossing them to her in the hall where she is standing naked, and looking at me in disbelief. I don’t respond to the hurt in her eyes. Instead, I close the door on her, bewilderment written all over her face. I stand in place, my chest heaving, and again attempting to forget the woman I’m so drawn to. I can’t forget her so I decide to take a cold shower. Trying to wash Kris’ scent off my dick, wishing it was Diamond’s instead.

Savy

I’ve been watching the back hallway since leaving the office. I want to get another look at the sexy biker. He is dangerous. I saw the danger in his eyes when we stared at each other in Donny’s office. I can fantasize, right? I haven’t had these feeling since Tyler.

I shake my head a little to clear my wayward thoughts. Memories of Tyler always make me anxious. Things ended badly, real fucking bad, and I vowed never to get involved with another man. I made that vow six months ago, and that went right out the window when I saw the sexy biker with the soulless eyes. I’m not sure why, but I have a need to see him again deep down in my gut.

“Jack straight up,” a customer yells over the loud music, pulling me from my thoughts.

“Coming right up, darlin’.” When I turn to grab the bottle of Jack Daniel’s from the counter behind me, I almost miss him leaving the bar. I’m just in time to see him looking at the bar and continuing his powerful stride out the front door. I guess it was a good thing he didn’t come over to the bar, but I’m disappointed. I’m drawn to him. Maybe it’s the danger that pulses off of him, or maybe it’s his looks. I’m not really sure why, but I want to see him again, I want to be near him.

I know better than to get involved with a biker. That type of man wouldn’t be interested in me anyway, other than another notch on his bed post. And that’s something I am not interested in. Men like him can’t be trusted. They treat you bad and I’ve had enough bad to last ten lifetimes. I can’t get involved and let it happen, again.

I enjoy working Saturday nights because of the fast pace. The club is always packed, and tonight is no different. As I’m counting my tips, I think about Ena and the money I gave her earlier today. I’m still not sure what I will do for the extra money I need, but I have to figure something out soon.

As I’m pulling off my apron for the night and making my way to the employee locker room, Donny approaches me. “Um, Diamond, you got a minute?”

“Sure,” I say. I stop right outside of the entrance to the locker room, ensuring that if something goes wrong, the dancers will hear me scream. “What’s up, Donny?”

“You got those extra shifts. You can work days right?”

My eyebrows shoot to my hairline, and I run my hand through my hair. I thought I made myself clear when I told Donny to forget about the extra shifts.

“Donny, I said forget about it. I’m not sleeping with you,” I state in a chastising tone.

“I said you got the shifts. No sex required,” he growls. Turning and moving further down the hall to his office, he slams the door closed behind him.

“What the fuck was that about?” I whisper to myself. Too tired to worry about why Donny had a change of heart, I move through the locker room door and get my purse.

I have a long bus ride home. My car hasn’t worked in two weeks, and I can’t afford to get it fixed. Something about the transmission, I’m not exactly sure what’s wrong with it. All I know is it won’t start. By the time I get home, it will be well after four in the morning. I’m glad Ena spent the night at a friend’s house. I won’t have the energy to get up early tomorrow.

Past

Paul

I hate coming to these balls with all these fucking people pretending to care about the police. These rich bastards don’t care about the police. They care about getting exposure for donating the most money at the Annual California Policeman’s Ball. They are the same no matter which state you are in. Boring as hell.

Billionaire Mark Huntington is making his way around the room, shaking hands and smiling up a storm. I guess the schmoozing comes easily for him. I, on the contrary, hate blowing smoke up anyone’s ass.

“Misty honey,” I murmur, “go get us a drink and don’t come back for fifteen minutes.” Mark is heading toward me, and I don’t want Misty talking to him. She’s mine, at least for tonight, and won’t be talking to any other men.

“Sure, babe.” She slinks away in her tight red dress, catching the eye of several men on her way to the bar.

“Aww, Peter,” Mark says while reaching out a hand and completing his progress toward me, “excellent seeing you again. What has it been, a year?”

“Paul,” I say with annoyance. How dare he forget my name! “And yes, it has been a year.”

“Sorry about that, Paul.” He doesn’t look sorry at all. “Lots of names to remember, you’ll forgive me.”

Not, will you forgive me? You will forgive me. Rich people always think they can get what they want, tell you what to do. The bastards.

“This is my son, Tyler Huntington,” he changes the subject. “He will take over our new product division at Huntington Industries in a few months.” The fake smile on Tyler’s face looks uncomfortable, but well-practiced. I’ve been a cop long enough that I can see through the mask Tyler has put on tonight. He’s attempting to hide his disdain for his father, but it simmers below the surface, trying to bubble over. He does a decent job hiding his hatred, but I still see it.

“Nice to meet you.” I stretch my hand toward the younger man. I’m not ashamed to admit that Tyler is good looking. He is perfect for my plan. I just need to make sure he will play along.

“You too, sir,” he says as he eyes his father, who is staring across the room at some other rich bastard.

“Well, it was nice seeing you again, Peter. I must go speak to someone else.” He moves away, leaving me fuming at his blatant irreverence.

“Sorry about that, Paul,” Tyler says.

His ready apology surprises me. Normally the rich bastards at these balls look down their noses at the lowly police officers that attend the ball, but it seems Tyler is different. He’s perfect.

“No need to apologize for your father. I’m used to it,” I say.

Misty returns to my side before Tyler can continue speaking. She is wearing a bright red, skin tight dress and Tyler’s focus moves up and down her body, his eyes hooding with his desire.

Snaking my arm possessively around her waist, I say, “You’ll excuse us.”

“Sure,” is all Tyler says as I move Misty and myself across the room where I can keep an eye on the room. The ball is the perfect place to put my plan into motion. I came tonight because I need to find a sorry bastard to do my bidding.

And I think I found him.
