Lane (Grim Sinners MC Book 1) by LeAnn Ashers (10)

7

Amelia

Tonight I am going to the club with Lane and his MC guys, as a real show that I am his woman, because it’s in his town and I am spending the night at his house. Tiffany is at her aunt’s house. I am meeting her soon—as in next weekend soon.

Some think we are rushing it, but who the fuck cares what they think? People are going to cause trouble no matter what the fuck we do. My mom is the worst, because I am not the ideal daughter and my sister is the best thing since sliced bread.

Yeah, I have a sister but we rarely talk. When she talks to me it’s a pissing show because she has to be better than me, or tries to be better. I am extremely independent and a man rules her life.

If you don’t have a man, you are a loser in her eyes. Well, I have a man now and it still isn’t good enough, because he is a guy in the MC or I should have married long ago. Blah, blah, blah. I am so sick of it, and the worst part is that I have to go to my mom’s tomorrow for the monthly dinner.

I would love for Lane to go with me, but I don’t want to put him through the torture of my family. They are the kind of the people to insult you with praise; it’s annoying as fuck.

“Doll, you ready?” Lane calls.

“Yeah!” I grab my duffle bag off the bed.

I walk into the living room and straight to Lane. I hug him tightly. “Missed you!” I breathe in his scent, and it’s like all of my troubles just go away.

“Missed you too. I feel like packing your shit up and moving you in with me.”

“Honestly, I would love that, but the main thing is Tiffany.” I wink and smack him on the ass. “Let’s get out of here.” I lead the way out to this truck.

He locks the door behind me. He is used to that now, since he sneaks out early in the morning before Tiffany gets up for school and I don’t usually see him until she is in bed.

She is his main priority and I love that. Tonight she has a babysitter, and that’s the reason I am going to his house. I want Lane to choose his daughter first; she is a very important part of his life.

If Lane constantly chose me over his daughter, I probably would have left him. I plan on having kids someday, and I don’t want a man to do that—plus I am not someone to make him choose. Tiffany could be my daughter someday, and it’s looking like she will be a part of my life, if it keeps on going as is.

Lane’s truck is huge! I open the door and crawl in. I hear him laughing behind me and I flip him off.

I can’t help it that I am five foot two; I have to climb cabinets to get stuff off the top shelf. That shit gets old. Kissing Lane standing is a pain too, because he has to bend down so far he usually ends up lifting me off the ground.

Lane steps inside the truck gracefully, and I glare at his long-ass legs. He laughs louder and starts the truck.

“I always thought men with big trucks had small dicks, but I was wrong. I can barely walk the next day and have thought out icing my pussy one too many times.”

Oh my god, did I just say that?

He puts the truck back into park and throws his head back, laughing. I put my face in my hands to hide the fact that I’m blushing. Oh my god.

“God, Doll, what would I do without you?” he says softly, and I look at him with a slight smile on my face. I lean over and kiss his cheek.

Well, it’s true—he does have me walking funny the next day, and I love that he can make me do that. Who doesn’t want someone who can rock their world? Surely not me.

He pulls out of my driveway. Should I ask him about going to see my parents tomorrow or not?

“Out with it. What has you thinking so hard?”

My eyes widen—how did he know? He reaches over and twines our fingers together.

“I just wanted to see if you wanted to go with me to my parents’ tomorrow? I don’t want to myself, since they are rude half of the time.”

“Shay called earlier—she’s keeping Tiffany the whole weekend. I am yours the whole weekend.”

A blinding smile comes over my face, my heart beating out of my chest with happiness and excitement. I would love to wake up in his arms and cook breakfast together.

“So you want to come with?”

“Yeah Doll, what time tomorrow?”

“Six tomorrow evening.” I bring our hands up and kiss the back of his hand.

“Where do they live?” He pulls onto the interstate.

“Your town.”

He looks at me, confused. “Who are your parents?”

“Charles and Meredith Baker.”

He shakes his head in disbelief. “Baby, your parents are dicks and your sister is too.”

I wince because it’s true. “Yeah, I know.”

“Holy fuck!” He laughs. “You’re the girl who I had the biggest fucking crush on in elementary school! I used to sneak letters into your locker.”

“Oh my god! I always wondered who that was!” I laugh at the incredibility of it all. “This is epic!”

Who would have thought, eh? Smaller world than you think.
