Bet On It by Jaclyn Quinn (3)

“Wakey, wakey, Ty! Time to do as I say and not as I do.” Spencer poked Ty in the forehead twice before Ty pried his eyelids open. Recollection of the night before and the bet came rushing back, and he shot upright. Dangling in front of his face, Spencer held a big, plastic bag.

“First stop, Starbucks. Get me a grande, black, before I have to leave for work. Second stop, dry cleaners.” He shoved the bag at Ty until he took it. “I’ll need that suit back by tomorrow for my sales meeting. Tonight, I want filet mignon with a baked potato and asparagus. Do you need to write this down?” Spencer smirked.

Ty sat there staring at Spencer. Of course, he had nothing to worry about. Spencer wasn’t thinking the same thing Ty was when they said no limits. No, those thoughts were only in his screwed-up mind and there they would stay. So, why did he suddenly feel disappointed?

“Ty! You’re spacing out again, man.” Spencer snapped his fingers in front of Ty’s face, bringing him back to reality.

“Yeah, yeah, I heard you. Starbucks, dry cleaners, expensive filet…got it.” Ty rolled his eyes.

“I’m not so sure I’m okay with you rolling your eyes at me. Seems to me I need to come up with some kind of punishment.”

The word punishment shot straight to Ty’s cock, and he threw his hands in his lap to hide the obvious hard-on he was sporting. He had no idea who he was turning into. He needed to get out, find a chick, and remind himself of his love of the female anatomy, but he didn’t see how that would be possible for the next three weeks.

“…punishment tonight.” Spencer’s words broke through Ty’s train of thought, and he looked at him in confusion.

“Wh—what?” Ty stuttered at the only two words he’d caught in that entire sentence.

“I said…I’m making you watch Billy Madison as your punishment tonight. Okay, I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with you lately, but you need to snap out of it.” Spencer started walking toward the door. “Cheesecake.”

Ty furrowed his brows and looked over at him.

“I want cheesecake for dessert.” Shaking his head in frustration, Spencer left the room.

Since there was absolutely no way Ty was cooking it himself, he’d stopped at the steakhouse and picked up the filet mignon dinner, a piece of cheesecake, and a burger for himself. Walking into the house, he called out, “Hey, Spence! Your dinner’s here!” as he made his way to the kitchen. Standing in front of the counter, he took the food containers out of the brown bag and set them down. Bag in hand, Ty turned around and started to fold it up when his eyes did a double take.

“What’d you say?” Spencer stood in front of the bathroom, a gray towel wrapped around his waist, his black hair still wet from the shower he’d obviously just taken.

Images of a naked Spencer flashed through Ty’s mind, heat radiating from inside out. Ty’s gaze dropped to Spencer’s chest as a drop of water slowly made its way down the valley of Spencer’s abs until it reached his belly button. A dark trail of hair started just below that, leading Ty’s mind to picture what was hidden beneath the gray terrycloth. Memories of Spencer’s generous length thrusting in and out of that guy’s mouth left Ty’s completely dry. The sound of the paper bag hitting the floor pulled Ty out of his trance. Shame washed over him as he looked down at the bag on the floor, and then slowly looked back up to meet Spencer’s blue eyes.

“Like what you see?” Spencer asked, seduction dripping from his voice.

“I—I—um…” For the second time that day, Spencer had Ty stuttering.

“Dude, I’m kidding! Chill out!” Laughing, Spencer turned and walked to his bedroom.

Fuck! Seriously…Chill. The. Fuck. Out! What is wrong with you? Why did he have to be such a nosy bastard that night? Ty felt like he was going crazy and something had to give. Hopefully, it wouldn’t be his sanity.

The next morning, Ty woke to the sound of Spencer calling his name over and over again. Ty rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, glancing at his clock on his nightstand. Six o’clock in the fucking morning! Throwing the covers off, he cursed under his breath, and stood up.

“Ty!” Spencer yelled out again.

Ty forced his legs to finally start moving. “I’m coming, damn it!” Ty growled back, cursing New England and their inability to win a fucking football game.

“Is that annoyance I hear in your voice?” Spencer yelled back just as Ty was entering the doorway to his room. “Just for that, I’ll have to come up with another punishment for tonight.”

Too tired to give a shit, Ty shot back, “Bring it. I’ll suffer through another round of shitty movies. Now, what do you want?”

Spencer was still in bed, a smug smile on his face. “Yeah, that tone definitely won’t do. I’ll have to think long and hard on your punishment for this one.” Spencer drummed his fingers together, as if devising an evil plan. “Omelet, three pieces of bacon, and a glass of orange juice…served in bed, of course.”

Ty bit his tongue and turned toward the hall. “Twenty more days of this shit,” he mumbled under his breath.

“What was that?”

“Nothing!” He headed to the kitchen to make His Highness his damn breakfast, promising himself he’d refrain from adding a laxative chaser to the asshole’s food.

“I’m never gonna look at a fucking peach the same way again.” Spencer shook his head and shut the movie off.

Fucking peach has a whole new meaning, huh?” Ty snorted a laugh, casually letting his eyes travel over to his best friend. The movie hadn’t been what he’d expected—at all. In fact, he’d never even heard of it, but anything and everything was Spencer’s decision for the next few weeks. Call Me by Your Name had been his choice for the night, and damned if it didn’t raise some questions for Ty. “I just don’t get… I mean…”

After a long pause, Spencer yawned then said, “Spit it out, Ty.”

How the hell do I just spit it out? “I don’t know…he just seemed into her; I mean, the sex…he seemed into the sex with that chick.”

“Yeah? So?” Spencer raised an eyebrow, as if expecting Ty to ask something stupid.

Ty was nothing, if not accommodating. “Well, I mean, the guy was already going down to Beaver Town, so why the fuck did he switch directions all of a sudden and go all the way up to North Bumfuck?” He couldn’t help the laugh that slipped out but, immediately, controlled himself, clearing his throat.

“You’re such an idiot.” Spencer rolled his eyes and began to push himself off the couch.

Quickly, Ty reached out and grabbed his arm. “No wait…I’m serious. I…” He took a deep breath and shrugged his shoulders. “I really want to know. What’s in it for him? Shit…not in it in it. I mean, we already know what’s in it—in him—

Spencer covered Ty’s mouth with his hand, and all sorts of zings traveled through his body from that one touch. Spencer’s eyes darkened as he studied Ty. “Quit while you’re ahead.” Spencer’s voice was a deep, raspy tone he’d only heard once before. That night. Ty breathed in through his nose then back out and nodded. When Spencer pulled his hand away, Ty could still feel his warmth. “Why the hell are you suddenly so curious about what’s in it for him?”

Shit. Didn’t think this one through, did ya? Now was not the time to bring up Spencer’s tied-up, begging booty call. “Um…”

When an awkward silence passed, Spencer sighed. “It’s called being bisexual, Ty.”

“Yeah, but…”

“But what?”

“Did he not know until then? Did he just wake up one day and decide, ‘Hey, I think I’ll try the D today’? How does a guy go from strictly liking women to fucking his male best friend—” Spencer’s eyebrows raised. With wide eyes, Ty quickly amended his words. “Elio. I meant Elio…and Oliver…” He swallowed hard, feeling the sweat build on his brow and the back of his neck.

“Lube.”

“Huh?”

Spencer patted Ty on the shoulder then stood up. “Lots of lube. Night, Ty.”
