#Delete by Sandi Lynn (41)

Eloise

I was sexually frustrated and he wasn’t making a move, but I knew exactly why he was waiting. I had mentioned after we had sex the first time at his party that I didn’t sleep with guys before the fifth date, and I was pretty sure he was waiting until then. I couldn’t help but smile as I thought about it. He was the perfect gentleman, even though I didn’t want him to be as far as sex was concerned. As for date nights, we took turns planning the date.

Our fifth date would be tomorrow night, Saturday night, after my speaking engagement, and I thought more about that than the lecture I was giving. It was my turn to plan the date and I had nothing but sex planned. The overwhelming feeling of happiness was back and my heart was whole once again.

Once word got out that I was going to be a guest speaker at the PlayStation Theater, six hundred more tickets were sold, placing the theater at full capacity. I couldn’t wrap my head around everything that had happened so fast. It was as if #Delete made me an overnight sensation. Between the emails and messages, I found it hard to keep up, so I asked Scarlett if she would be my part-time assistant and she could work from home. She jumped at the chance in a second.

As I was going over my PowerPoint one last time, a text message came through from Christian.

“Hello, gorgeous. I’ll be by to pick you up at six o’clock for dinner.”

“Hello, handsome. I’ll be ready and waiting. Maybe we can come back to my place after for a drink.” I sent the winky face.

“I actually made other plans for us for after dinner.” He sent the smiley face.

“Oh? What are we doing?”

“You’ll have to wait and find out.”

“Are you being secretive?”

“Yes, I am. It’s a surprise.”

“I love surprises.

“I know you do. I’m heading to a meeting. Catch ya later, baby?”

“Catch ya later.”

I smiled as I closed out of his message, gave my PowerPoint another look over, and then got ready for our date. Christian’s planned date consisted of dinner at The Todd English Food Hall at the Plaza Hotel and then we were off to I didn’t know where since he was keeping it a secret. After we finished eating, we walked out of the hotel, and sitting at the curb was a horse and carriage.

“Your ride awaits, Madame.” Christian smiled as he held my hand.

“We’re going on a horse and carriage ride?” I asked with excitement.

“Yes, through Central Park.”

With Christian’s help, I climbed into the carriage and he climbed in next to me. The driver handed us a blanket since the chilly air had settled into the fall nights. Christian put his arm around me and as soon as I snuggled into him, he covered us with the warm blanket.

“This is beautiful. Thank you,” I spoke.

“You’re welcome.” He kissed the top of my head.

It was a beautiful ride through Central Park, and when it was over, Christian took me home.

“I think you should come upstairs for a drink.” I smiled as I took the lapels of his coat in my hands.

“We both know what will happen if I do.” He smirked.

“And?” I raised my brow.

“You have a big day tomorrow and you need all the rest you can get.”

I sighed.

“Hey.” He placed his finger under my chin. “Tomorrow night is your turn to plan date night and we can do anything you want, and I mean anything.” He winked.

A smile crossed my lips.

“Trust me. We will be.”

He leaned in and brushed his lips against mine.

“Good night, Eloise.” He stroked my cheek.

“Good night, Christian.”

Christian

Saying good night to her on the doorstep of her building was hard. I wanted to come up to her apartment for a drink, but we both knew having a drink wasn’t on either one of our minds. The past few nights being with her were difficult because all I wanted to do was take her to bed and never let her go. I could tell she was getting frustrated with me, but this was what needed to happen.

Tomorrow was a big day for her, and what she didn’t know was that I’d bought a ticket, not only for myself, but for her friends as well. I didn’t want to tell her because she’d be even more nervous than she already was. So, we’d just sit quietly in the way back and watch from afar.
