Dirty Roomie (A Maxwell Family Romance) by Alycia Taylor (20)

Chapter Sixteen

Riley

“I am?” I asked shyly. It was a silly question to ask, like I was just asking for more attention, but I couldn’t help myself. I had been avoiding Silas all week, but when that Cat Woman had hit on him, I knew that I liked him more than I cared to admit. And now he was telling me that he didn’t like her and that he found me attractive. I wanted more.

“You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met.”

“I . . . .” I stammered, suddenly nervous.

“Look, Riley, I’m sorry if I’m being too honest here. Tell me if you want me to back away. I know that you’ve been avoiding me this week, and I’m assuming you really don’t want me to flirt with you like this. I know you don’t like me in that way. But, well, I like you. And I’m not afraid to show it. I promise that I won’t let things get awkward between us, though. I really want to continue living here.”

I stared at him. He thought I didn’t like him? I thought it was obvious just how much liked him.

“I want you to live here too. I haven’t stopped thinking about you, Silas. You know, since the other night, I’ve only been avoiding you so that I didn’t jump straight back into bed with you.”

“Really? I thought you didn’t want to be with me.”

“Oh, I want to be with you. I was just worried that it would mess our situation up. I mean, we’ve only just started to get to know each other. Being with you and living with you seemed like such a quick jump in a relationship.”

“You want a relationship with me?” he said, and when I looked up at him, I saw that he was grinning.

I grinned back. “I mean, I don’t know. I do want to kiss you again, though.”

“Oh, that I can most definitely arrange,” he said and pulled me toward him.

I didn’t pull away. He kissed me, and I kissed him back, and my entire body filled with desire as our lips and tongues touched. The first time had happened so quickly, so spontaneously, that I hadn’t had much time to process what was happening. But this time, it felt more deliberate. We knew what we were doing, and we knew that we wanted it to happen. I liked the way he made me feel, and for once in my life, I was going to stop playing by the rules. Sure, we lived together, but that didn’t mean we couldn’t be together.

Silas moved his hands to my blouse and began to undo the buttons, one at a time. When the blouse was open, he pushed it off my shoulder, and I reached behind my back and unclasped my bra. He groaned as he looked down at me, and moved his hands around my breasts. I felt desire mount inside me as I watched his hands on my bare chest, circling my nipples and teasing them between his fingers. He pushed me down onto the sofa and sucked on my nipples, eliciting a soft moan from my lips, then he moved down my stomach and pulled off my jeans and my panties. He looked up at me, his eyes piercing mine as he told me he wanted to make me come. I bit my lip, but I didn’t argue. I let him slip his tongue between my folds, and I writhed against the sofa in mounting ecstasy as he took me all the way to orgasm with ease. It didn’t take too long to get me there, but when I came, it was long and hard and explosive. I held onto his head as my entire body shuddered against the heat of his mouth. When he pulled away, he licked his lips, smiled at me, and pulled down his jeans. He put on a condom and slid inside of me. I was glad because as amazing as the orgasm had been, I still wanted to feel him deep within.

I was wet, and he sheathed himself inside me easily, moving against me in a fast and steady rhythm. I liked that he kept stopping to look at me, to kiss me or to tell me how beautiful he thought I was. I liked that even while we were having sex, he still took a moment to think about me.

Afterward, we lay together for a while, neither of us saying anything. I finally got up to take a shower, and he did the same. I took a very long time and thought about what had happened. I went back to my room, put on my pajamas, and climbed into bed. But, only ten minutes later, I found that I was unable to sleep. That was unlike me. I wondered if Silas was still awake, and I remembered how he always told me that he battled to fall asleep at night. I climbed out of bed and tiptoed to his bedroom. I opened the door and walked over to his bed. It was dark, and I couldn’t tell if he was awake or not.

“Sleepwalking?” he said, and I chuckled.

“No. I just couldn’t sleep. Can I climb in?” I asked.

“Yes!” he said and moved over.

I climbed in beside him and let him put his arm around me. I turned around and kissed him gently on the mouth. I knew that it probably wasn’t too good to be doing this, but I figured one night sleeping in his bed wouldn’t harm. Anyway, it felt so good with his arms around me that I didn’t want to be anywhere else.

“Good night, Country,” I whispered.

“Good night, beautiful,” he whispered back.
