Dirty Roomie (A Maxwell Family Romance) by Alycia Taylor (28)

Chapter Twenty-Four

Riley

I was a little unsteady on my feet as we got home. Thankfully I’d gotten dropped off at the restaurant by Paisley, so I didn’t have to worry about driving home. Because of this, I’d had more to drink than Silas, who seemed completely sober to me. And when I was tipsy, I was giggly. I kept laughing at things that I was sure wasn’t all that funny to begin with. It was a good thing too, because if I wasn’t laughing, I’d more than likely be crying. I hated the idea that after what could only be described as the perfect date, I was going to have to say goodbye tomorrow.

I turned to face Silas. The two of us were standing in the living room, having just taken off our coats. I’d flung my bag across the room and chuckled as it landed on the floor.

“So, are you ready to turn the date into a ten out of ten? Or do you just want to leave it at nine?” I asked.

“There’s no way I’m leaving the date at nine when the ten is so very close.”

He walked over to me. I was wearing heels, so I didn’t have to reach up to him like I usually did. Still, he had to bend ever so slightly to kiss me. I loved how tall he was. We’d flirted a lot together over the past week, but we’d kept our distance when it came to anything too physical. I think we were both just so aware of how close we were to falling for one another. Well, that was at least how I felt about him. I still wasn’t entirely too sure what I meant to him, even though he said he didn’t want to be with anyone else.

“I’m sorry to say,” I said when I lips parted, “but the kiss is only worth half a point.”

“Half? So how am I going to get a perfect ten then?”

I grinned. I unzipped my dress and let it fall to the floor. Then, with just my underwear and heels on, I walked toward his bedroom. The champagne had given me a boost of confidence and stifled my inhibitions, and when I got to his room, I was glad to see that he had followed me.

“Might as well make the most of this bedroom one last time,” I said as I pushed him to the bed. “Now take off your clothes while I get some music going.”

If Silas was going to leave me tomorrow, then I was going to make sure that I gave him something to remember me by. I wasn’t going to cry or beg him to stay. I wasn’t going to ask him to make me his girlfriend and never go out with another girl but me ever again. I was just going to make sure that I gave him a lasting memory of me. I wanted him to want to come back to me. I walked out of the room and grabbed some music.

When I came back to put it on, I saw that not only had the taken his clothes off, but he’d also turned off the lights and lit some candles instead. I had no idea how he had managed to do it all so quickly, but I wasn’t complaining. The soft illumination from the candles offered a more intimate environment. I put the music on and then, while he was watching, I slowly took my bra and panties off. I noticed that he was already hard and when I got to the bed, I knelt down at the end and took him in my mouth. I circled my tongue around him, gently sucking and licking while he became more and more aroused.

I knew that he kept his condoms in the drawer next to his bed. I remembered from one of the times we’d had sex before. I’d even joked about it with afterward about how I could see he liked to be prepared. I was glad for it now. I stood up, licked my lips, and jumped off the bed to retrieve a condom. I placed it on him and then slowly lowered myself on top of him. There was something different about the sex between us this time. I could feel a sense of urgency as we moved together on the bed. He held on to me a little tighter than normal; we locked eyes more than we usually did. And every time we were on the verge of coming, we both stopped and waited for the feeling to subside. I knew it was because neither one of us wanted the moment to be over. If this was the last time we were going to have sex for a while, then we wanted to make it last.

Of course, it couldn’t last forever, and soon the two us just gave into it. But the buildup had been worth it, and out of all the times the two of us had sex, this was by far the best. In fact, I’d go as far as saying at that it was the best sex I’d ever had in my life. I’d never wanted anything or anyone more in my entire life.

“God, Riley, you’re incredible,” Silas said as I curled up next to him.

“Does that mean the date was a ten out of ten now?”

“Ten out of ten. Full marks.”

“Good. Nine was just too low. I strive for only the best.”

“So, tell me, will you stay here tonight? You know I don’t sleep very well without you. And I need to be refreshed for tomorrow.”

I sighed. “I don’t want to. But, of course, I’ll do it for you. Just so that you can get some rest.”

He chuckled and pulled me in tighter. “I hope tonight doesn’t go too fast.”

I wanted to stay up and talk through the night. I wanted to kiss him and have sex with him all over again. But I was exhausted, and it didn’t take long for my eyes to become heavy and for me to slowly drift off to sleep. The last thoughts that I had before finally falling to sleep were of Silas, and how I didn’t want the morning to come. I didn’t want to say goodbye. I probably shouldn’t have slept with him because all I had done was make saying farewell even harder than it was already going to be. As I lay beside him, and felt his breath on my neck, I knew that what I was feeling went beyond lust. Silas was gorgeous, and sleeping with him had been amazing. But there was more to my feelings than the physical. I was starting to have real feelings for him. What a pity that it was just as he was about to leave me. I love you, I said inside my head because I was too afraid of saying it out loud. I pictured him saying it back and then finally fell asleep.
