Chapter 19
Captain Alicron Qinov
She was unbelievable. No matter what I did, she protested every single one of my decisions. I couldn't do anything to satisfy her. I had put myself in danger to rescue her. I had hired guns in order to take me there. I had rescued her human friend as well, who was also my property, but this did not seem to make Vicki happy. She was still being stubborn and resisting everything I said.
She questioned every single thing that I asked of her. Even something as simple as covering me so that I could pull out payment from my belt without showing the entire village that I carried valuable diamonds. Anyone that saw that could easily jump us and take them away. Then we would be stranded without resources. Yet she still questioned all of this. Then when I came up with the plan to go back to my planet in order to get reinforcements, she was not happy with it. She didn't trust me. She thought I was going to abandon her friend on this planet, and that was the last thing that I was going to do. Not only because I had made a promise to her, but because it was my mission to get human females back to Xeion. I couldn't fail in that mission. I needed to succeed. I considered the crash on X003 to be a slight obstacle and detour, but the mission wasn't over for me. I was going to finish it no matter what. I was going back to my planet to get reinforcements, and then we would be able to easily scour this planet to find the crew and the humans. This made sense to me; it was an obvious choice, but Vicki was resistant to it anyway.
“I am looking to purchase a long-distance ship. I need it to travel through several galaxies. I need it to have hyperspeed and to be able to carry at least four passengers,” I said to a ship dealer in the spaceport.
“No, I do not have such a ship. The hyperspeed drive ships are in the back. Through there,” the merchant said to me pointing to the back.
“Thank you,” I nodded to him. And then I grabbed Vicki and Nancy by the arms. I was not letting them out of my sight again.
I walk to the back of the corner of the market. I could see that the larger ships were in this area. I asked again for the type of ship that I needed. There were several that had hyperspeed drives and could carry the passengers that I needed and go the distance. I inspected all of them. They all seem to be in good condition, but I was not familiar with the type a flight consul that they all used. I would have to hire a pilot to get one of the ships.
“Is there a ship like this that comes with a pilot?” I asked one of the green and purple aliens.
“Yes, there is a Lana pilot back in that corner with a ship. But he will not sell his ship. He rents it with him as a pilot to go on missions. So you would have to negotiate that terms with him,” he said.
“Thank you,” I said.
I looked at Vicki. “You don't have to grab my arm and yank me around. I am not leaving your side,” she said annoyed.
“For some reason, I don't believe you. Let's go,” I said grabbing onto the both of them and reading them toward the back. I saw a Lana sitting next to a large ship. I looked at it. Not only was it perfect, but I knew this type of ship. I could fly it, or at least be the copilot.
“I have been referred to you by a merchant in the village. I am trying to get to Xeion. It is me and these two passengers. I need to get there quickly. I need hyperspeed drive on a ship to get me there. I am looking to either purchase a ship or to rent with the pilot. Are you the one to speak to?” I asked.
“Yes, but I have not been to this Xeion before,” he said.
“It is three galaxies from here. I can give you the coordinates, and it will be easy to get there. I know this ship. I can be a copilot if necessary. I am Kynon. I am a friend of the Lana. If you take this mission, I can pay you one full gram diamond to get us there and another when we arrive safely,” I said.
He looked at me surprised. “That is a good payment. Why so much?” he asked.
“It is to pay for safety in our journey. It is to pay for honesty from you. It is to pay for confidentiality. You do not tell anyone that you took us or tell anyone what you see on Xeion. That is what it pays for, not just the journey and the transportation,” I said.
“And why should I trust you,” he said.
“You can trust him. He is a friend,” I heard a familiar voice say. I turned to see Keyna coming through walking between the massive ships. Tila followed close behind him.
“Keyna. You trust this Kynon?” the pilot asked.
“Yes. I have worked with him before. He paid me handsomely and did not go back on his word. He is a good Kynon soldier. You can trust him,” Keyna said patting me on the back.
“Keyna, good to see you again,” I said.
“And you can trust this Kynon,” Keyna said to the pilot. “If I was a long-distance pilot like you, I would be doing this myself. But I do not have the ship, and I do not have the skills that you do. If I were you, I would not pass up this opportunity. It is good financial payment,” Keyna said to the pilot.
“If you trust him, Keyna, then I trust him. I will be ready to leave as soon as I fuel up the ship. If you see that merchant there in the red robe? Tell him you want to stock up with food and drink on my ship. He will hand you a crate,” the pilot said.
“Thank you. We are ready,” I said.
Keyna patted me on the back again, “Have a good journey. I wish you the best of luck on your mission,” he said.
“Thank you. Thank you for all your help,” I said.
“Will I be seeing you again?” he asked.
“Yes, I think so. I might be in need of your help once more in the future,” I said.
“You know where to find me,” he said and then walked off.
“Let's go get these supplies,” I said to Vicki and Nancy. I walked over to the merchant with the red robe and told him what the pilot said. It was as though he had done it many times before. He grabbed a crate and filled it with jugs of water and dehydrated food packets. He handed me the crate, and I carried it to the ship. I waited for Vicki and Nancy to board in front of me. It felt good to have them on the ship. Now I didn't have to constantly look after them. They sat down, and I waited at the front of the ship looking out the windshield, waiting for the pilot.
I was glad that I had managed to secure a ship and a Lana pilot to take us to my planet of Xeion. It was my only choice, but it wasn't what I wanted to do. I would gladly stay on the cyborg planet of X003 and try to clear up the mess myself by finding my crew and the human cargo, but I had already wasted too much time already. I had to do this, and I had to do it right by going to get my army. But I was not looking forward to hearing what my father and my brothers had to say about my huge fuck up. No doubt they would think the ship crashing on the planet was my fault and blame it all on me. It would be the usual thing that I had to listen to from them, but this time it was different. This time I had cargo of human females that would help to save our race, and that was a lot of pressure to deal with. They would be disappointed. I was not looking forward to the confrontation.
“Good, we are out of the solar system. Just keep on the path and coordinates that I put into the system,” I said to the pilot.
“Yes, Captain Alicron Qinov. I have been to your system before now that I see it on the map, so you can count on me. I just have not been to your planet,” the pilot said.
“Good. I will come to check on you in an hour. I need some rest, and I need some food,” I said leaving the flight deck and going into the belly of the ship.
“I put food and water in the common room,” I said to Vicki and Nancy who sat on seats in the belly of the ship.
“Does that mean that we can unbuckle our belts and walk around?” Nancy said.
“Yes, we are safely out of the solar system of the planet X003. We are far away from the cyborgs. We are on our way to my planet, and it should be smooth from here on out,” I said.
“Good. I am starving,” Nancy said as she unbuckled her belt.
“This way,” I said leading them into the common room. I pulled out the food and water from the cabinets where they had been secured. I laid everything out on the table.
“What is this?” Nancy asked.
“It is dehydrated food. You just add water like this,” I said showing her.
“Is it safe for humans to eat?” she asked.
“Yes, I assure you that it is safe for humans,” I said.
“Good enough for me,” she said as she began to make her meal. Vicki was quiet.
“Are you not going to talk to me the rest of this trip?” I asked her quietly. Nancy looked over at us. I did not know if the human knew what had happened between Vicki and me, but she seemed very interested as she was hiding a smile.
“I didn't say I wasn't talking to you. I am just disappointed in you is all,” Vicki said drinking some water.
“Disappointed? Not you too,” I said knowing that I would get this lecture from my family.
“What do you mean not you too? Who else has told you they are disappointed that you broke your promise to rescue their friend Bridget?” she said.
“I told you I did not break my promise,” I said slamming my glass down on the counter.
“And yet here we are in space far away from Bridget while she is out there in that desert,” she said as she slammed her glass down and then walked out of the room.
How dare she continue to accuse me. How dare she be so ungrateful for everything that I had done for her. I was the one that rescued her twice from the cyborgs. Now she was giving me the silent treatment and accusing me of breaking promises. I slammed my glass down again and went after her. I found her in one of the smaller rooms lying on a bed.
“How many times do I have to tell you that I did not break that promise? I have done a lot for you,” I said.
“Get out of here. I am trying to get some rest. I am very tired after everything you have put me through. How can you even say that you have done a lot for me? I have to keep reminding you that you took me from my planet! I hate you! I hate you with all my heart,” she said getting up from the bed and getting in my face. But she was so tiny, that her face was a couple of feet under me.
“You are so ungrateful, human female,” I barked back at her.
“And you are frustrating and a complete arrogant jerk, you tall blue alien,” she said narrowing her eyes at me. Her lips were trembling with anger. I could not hold back anymore. I had so much tension inside of me when I thought that I had lost her. Now it was coming out to the surface, and I could not stop it.
I put my hands on her shoulders and pulled her to me. I pressed my lips against hers. I thought she would push me away, but instead, she melted against my body and kissed me back.
“I thought I had lost you, Vicki,” I whispered in between kisses.
“I thought I had lost you. I thought I would never see you again,” she whispered back as she kissed me. Her hands greedily moved up and down my body as though she was happy to see me. Her words kept shouting hate at me, but her body kept wanting me.
