Her eyes are bright and expectant as she looks around Drex’s shop. It’s just hitting me how different we are. Allison doesn’t have a single tattoo on her sexy body.

I, on the other hand, have a chest full and have been toying with the idea of sleeves and a full back piece. Eventually, I want to have a full shirt.

“I think I want one,” she says, bouncing on her toes.

Wrapping an arm around her waist, I tug her into my side. I peck her lips and smile. She’s so cute. Her eyes are the brightest I’ve ever seen.

“How about you think about what you want. I’ll do it for you when you’re ready,” I say.

“I was thinking about getting one tonight,” she says and bites her lip.

“I’m not letting any of these guys touch your body and I left my things at home.”

“Roark…seriously?” She gasps.

I shrug my shoulders. “Yeah, I’m serious as fuck.”

Her eyes search my face before she bursts into laughter. I palm her ass and squeeze. Dipping to cover her lips.

When I break the kiss, she stares up at me with a dazed look in her eyes. Drex walks into his private room and I shift my hand from her ass to the small of her back. I wish we had just a few more minutes to ourselves.

“You ready to bring the old Ro back, bro?” Drex asks, rubbing his hands together.

“Yup.”

“So the lip and brow?”

“Nah, I’m giving up the lip,” I say as I watch Allison. “Did the hardware I ordered come in?”

“Sure did. I have it here. Two earrings and one nose. Those piercings still open or you need to reopen them?”

“I’m good on those,” I reply.

Allison stands with her mouth hanging open. I brush my lips over hers and wink. Her mouth turns up into a huge Grinch that stole Christmas smile. I suck my lip into my mouth to keep from laughing.

“Oh my God. You have no idea how sexy I used to think your piercings were,” she says.

I brush her hair out of her eyes. She’s been letting the top grow longer. I love it when it’s like this, giving her a sultry look.

“Used to think?” I lift a brow.

“Get your sexy ass in that chair,” she shoves at my chest.

I reach for her, pulling her into my lap. Drex works around her in my hold to pierce my brow. He also puts in the nose ring and earrings for me.

Allison cups my face and kisses me. Her eyes are lit as they bounce around my piercings. I lift my unpierced brow in question.

“You’re the old Ro. The guy that told me to follow my dreams until I found my happiness. I’m resigning from the hospital. Dr. Harris called me with an offer I couldn’t refuse. I’ll be his second in command covering three hospitals here on the Island,” she says.

“Baby, that’s amazing! Wait, that’s a good thing, right?”

“Yeah, it is. More responsibility, but the funding I’ll have access to and the advanced research programs, I’m completely stoked about it,” she says.

“When do you start?”

“I’ll return in six months. I didn’t want to rush back. I took time for me. I know I was heading for burn out,” she says.

“So it sounds like we have something to celebrate,” Drex croons out. “My bro is back and his lady’s doing big things.”

“Yeah, she is. Drinks on me.”
