Craving The Boss by D.C. Rowley (24)

{Cason}

As soon as I learned about it, I had my people dispose of this issue properly. I can’t let people treat Keira like that. Which might sound ironic since I treat her so bad all the time, but it’s different when it’s up to me. Because I actually care about her. And I wouldn’t let her crumble like this.

Which again is really ironic. But get over it! I’ve proven my feelings toward her when I confessed in her porch. I still have not taken any sign from her regarding the offer, but I like to keep my hopes high. After all, it’s not like she had anything better to do anyway. I’ve left her with no options and even though I have some strange way to show it, I did all the things I did for the best. Because like this, she cannot escape me. I guess deep down I knew even then that I needed her like this.

What the fuck is she doing to me?

I don’t like the person that I’m turning into, because it’s vulnerable, emotional…and those are all weaknesses.

In case you’re wondering why I hired her, after telling her that she wasn’t even that talented—it’s because I was wrong. I was mad and wanted to hurt her. But she’s hell good at what she does. That’s why I had her fucking professor fired, after Cody told me that he didn’t pass her.

How could he?

I’m focused on work when Keira makes an entrance. I smile, knowing that she’s come with good news. After all, she wouldn’t come all the way down here just to tell me that she’d turn me down, would she?

“Hey, you,” I smile like a teenage boy, when I see her. She makes my eyes sparkle, and I hate her for that. At this point I hope that when I use the particular word ‘hate’ you get what I’m actually feeling. It’s a mixture of emotions that I cannot really explain and it doesn’t have anything to do with hate. But I use this word, because that’s how I feel knowing that I can’t really explain this feeling that is capturing me.

“Hey,” she mumbles, on a mellow voice.

She’s the sweetest pussy on the earth, I swear. She’s so delicate and fierce at the same time; she’d have any men on their knees is front of her.

I’m barely keeping myself from getting on my knees…metaphorically.

“I’ve done a lot of processing lately, and I’ve come up with a decision.”

“Please tell me it’ll satisfy me. Otherwise don’t…tell me at all.” I sway my head to one side, and look at her foolishly.

“Cason, I think it’s undeniable that I’ve been sharing some bizarre feelings for you too. And the fact that I hated you so passionately, startles me…because I’ve never done something with so much passion in my entire life. And I know that it’s hate we’re talking about, but there was something about it that I couldn’t explain.”

It’s as if she took the words right from my mouth. She’s explaining just what I’ve been feeling this whole time. She’s just more well-spoken, and, hmm, well-mannered and knows how to puts two and two together.

“I swear this time it’s gonna be different.” I smile. “I will not be the jerk that I was to you…well, I’ll try.” I smile and she joins. “And I’ll treat you with the respect and dignity that a woman like you deserves.”

Her eyes are sparking. It looks as if she’s in love with what she’s hearing. And that’s what I want to make her feel, anyway. I want her to fall for me.

But this time around. I got to earn it.

I can’t focus on work, knowing that she’s in this building and I’m here, in my office, instead of up all over her.

I grab my new phone and call her, even though she’s on the same floor.

“I—I needed to talk to you,” I say stupidly, since this the best excuse I can find for calling her for no reason.

“Oh, okay.” I hear her whispering on the other part of the line. My cock twitches as a response to her voice. I arrange my underwear, which feels like a mess right now.

“What do you say if I ask you on a date this time? I think I want to do things properly.” I say, without weighing in my words.

“Um, this is so unexpected.”

“It’s not what I wanted to hear.” I smile. “So?”

“Um…I don’t know. Isn’t this too early.”

“Probably, it is. But I don’t want to wait anymore, Keira. I think I waited long enough.”

“Well, in that case, I’m in.” She tells me.

I cannot believe the excitement that is swirling raucously inside of me right now. “Okay, I’ll get you at 8 in the afternoon at your house.” Somehow I just want to give her a little time to get ready. But if it were up to me, then I’d take her straight after work and into some fancy restaurant.

“Okay. See you tonight.”

“Can’t wait for it.” I tell her and hang up.

My cock is just so excited right now. I’m about to get lucky tonight and can barely wait for it.

I hold her hand as she twirls around to give me a full sight of her outfit. She’s wearing a red dress that puts highlight to her perfect figure. Her boobs are on spot, her perfect, long smooth legs, and curvey waist just drive me insane.

How about we just skipped on dinner and went straight to fuck? I don’t think I—hmm—my cock is gonna be able to resist all along.

“You look just enchanting.” I tell her.

“Thanks. You’re not bad yourself.” She giggles.

“So, shall we?” I hold my hand along and she clutches it as we make it to my car.

The restaurant that I’m taking her to is just a block away from my house. I don’t want to wait too much after dinner, since I already know my cock is going to be desperate and infuriated until I shove it right up her pussy.

When we’re all settled and comforted on our table, she takes a huge swig of ravioli on her mouth, while she’s asking me. “So that’s when you knew?”

“Well, knowing you’d be that far was just making me enraged. I couldn’t have that.”

“Please, don’t tell me you had something to do with that, too? Tell me you didn’t get them to fire me.”

I’m not sure whether this is a tricky question. Sure, she’s here now and her life seems sorted out, but maybe she’s going to get angry, knowing that I had something to do with her New York job too. I mean, I can get away with it, since I can tell her that my power does not go that far so as to influence companies in NYC. But I feel like in this new beginning, I need to tell her the truth.

“How about we talk about something else, other than work?” I offer, trying to avoid the topic.

“Well, what would you like to know?” she asks.

At this point, I know everything that I need, about her. That’s where my P.I. comes along.

“Why didn’t you tell me you had a boyfriend?” I look at her inexpressibly and wait for a response.

“Wait, how do you even know that?”

“I know a lot of things, Keira. I’m a powerful man.”

“Well, first of all, he’s my ex, who’s been trying to convince me to get back together for a very long time now, despite the many times that I’ve turned him down. But you never asked about him. So how was I supposed to know you needed to know that?”

“Well, is he a problem anymore?”

“No, he’s in New York right now, and is gonna be there for a very long time. Why are you asking this anyway?”

“Well, I just want to make sure that you’re alright. Clearly this man has got some issues and I don’t want him to take it out on you.”

“I don’t think that is going to happen. Though thanks for your concern.” She takes another bite of ravioli while she’s processing the next question. “Now, there’s something that I’d like you to put some light on. How do you put a girl you like on the blacklist of every design company on the city? That’s not what we usually do for people we are keen on.”

“Well, my ways are a little quaint and rough, but my intentions are good. I promise. I just couldn’t have you work for anybody else, while I needed you around me.”

“Are you trying to say that I should feel flattered regarding your rude manners? You can’t treat anybody like that, let alone a girl you like.”

“I know,” I tell her, giving up. “I was a jerk, right? I did so many stupid things, and you didn’t deserve any of that.”

“Well, at least now you know,” she snickers, and her foot rubs against my leg underneath the table. I don’t think it was unintentional.

When our dinner is over, we stay outside the restaurant, gaping across the beautiful fountain outdoors, and I scramble for her hand. When my fingers poke her palm, I feel the warmth of her skin and our fingers interlace.

“I’m so glad we did this tonight.”

“It was nice,” she looks past my shoulder and then meets my eyes. “I didn’t know that side of you.”

“Well, there are a lot of things that you don’t know about me, Keira. The point is, do you want to find out?”

“I mean, we have plenty of time right?”

“We do, but every moment counts. So how about we take this over at my house?”

“Oh, and there I thought this was a picture-perfect first date with the irresistible guy.”

“You think I’m irresistible?”

“That’s the only thing you caught on that sentence.”

“It was the keyword, I guess,” I wrinkle my eyes and wait for her to giggle. I love it when she giggles. She’s so cute and carefree, like the world is a simple beam of light, and she’s the butterfly playing with it.

“I’d appreciate it if you took me home.”

“Home it is then.” I just don’t want to argue with her over this. Of course my cock had different expectations, but hey, you never know what happens.

So we head over to my car and I start the engine. And somehow I feel some kind of excitement that I don’t think I’ve ever felt before.
