Chapter 4
Jared let out a feral scream as the earth swallowed him whole. As he fell what felt like forever and he was sure when he hit bottom that would be it for him. He’d be flatter than road kill. In the dark, he shifted into his large panther form when he finally hit bottom, as his paws hit the rock there was a loud crunching sound and the pain hit him like a tank. He screamed, knowing his legs were broken, all four of them. His body limply fell over and tears ran down his muzzle.
He couldn’t see a damn thing. All he could hear was his own heart beat and then he remembered the orb that had been in his pocket. He ignored the pain and called to the orb with his mind. As the orb came to life it gave off a light and it showed Jared where he was. Horror filled him.
“It’s a tasty bit of meats!” A sickly yellow demon grinned wickedly and drooled from both mouths it had.
How could he not of heard it? Jared snarled at the demon. As the orb got closer, the demon tried to touch it. The orb turned red an exploded with fire ball. It set fire to the demon. It screamed as the flames engulfed is gross piss colored body. Jared couldn’t seem to get his body to heal or even start to heal.
As the flaming demon ran away he realized he was in a rock walled prison cell. Before he could do anything, another demon appeared and the cell became bright.
Wye looked at the panther on the ground. “Oh, this is no good. No good at all. Master will not be happy about this.” Wye moved closer to the panther as it hissed at him. He ignored its outburst and stomped out the flaming corpse of the other demon. “I am not sure how you did that to him, but it doesn’t matter. How did you get here Kitty? Master doesn’t keep pets. And I know he didn’t put you in here. This is the last place on earth anyone wants to be. This is hell, no hell is too good for this place. I don’t know what the name for it, but it’s bad.”
Wye saw the orb but didn’t touch it. Instead he made a large box appear and it slammed closed over the orb. Wye smiled. “Shiny ball of pain, taken care of. Check!” He made the box vanish.
Jared started to panic inside. He had to find out where he was and who the hell this Master person was. His fancy powers weren’t doing shit to help him. The pain was so bad he feared he’d pass out. He focused on the demon in front of him.
“Next is the Kitty,” Wye said, trying to figure out how get a good hold on the pissed off animal. Before he could, he was called away. As he vanished he yelled, “You is lucky Kitty. The Master needs me.”
Sure, lucky, Jared thought, laying on the cold stone floor in pain. His ace in the hole was gone. He knew since he was still alive, so was Serra, but that didn’t make him feel better. How would anyone find him? War and whoever else, was still on the loose. He wanted to scream, but he was too weak to scream. Instead, he tried again to heal himself. Why the hell isn’t it working? His biokensis seemed to have checked the fuck out. He tried to mindlink Serra and Edge. Nothing. It was like he wasn’t even on earth anymore. Had he been sent into another dimension? His mind spun with horror filled questions.
Gore waited for Wye to appear. “What took you so long?” Gore asked with a snarl.
Wye blinked at him. The demon thought before answering him. “Wye had a problem Master. Or well, Master has a problem.” Wye said blinking up at Gore.
“And what is that, other than you being a moron!?” Gore said getting annoyed.
“Comes Wye will show you!” Wye said started to reach for Gore’s hand.
Gore let the demon lead him to whatever the problem was.
Jared lay there in pain he heard footsteps again. Two sets of them. His eyes started to adjust to the darkness of the stone cell.
“There is a Kitty in the cages. Wye watched him kill Yed, but Wye got the Kitty’s shiny ball of pain.”
Gore had no idea what Wye was going on about. There should not be anyone in his prison. Not anymore the last one that was in there Gore slaughtered himself.
He smiled remembering the look on Bree Navarro’s face. He had drained the female’s powers and as she lay on the ground powerless in bear form. He flayed her beautiful fur off, as she screamed in pain. He set fire to her body. Once it was engulfed in flames, he sent her body into the cage next to her. The cage held her own brother. Her brother didn’t realize who she was till it was too late. Beyer cut her head cut off with his own claws. And once the bear realized what he had done he killed himself.
Gore’s mind came back to earth when Wye stopped in front of the cages. Gore waved his hand making the room light up. His eyes widened to see Jared Morgan laying on his side staring back at him. “What in the hell?” Gore demanded.
“Master Wye don’t know. He was just here when Wye came to check on Yed. Please don’t punish mez. Wye did nothing wrong. Other than taking the shiny ball of pain.”
How could the panther be here? Jared Morgan was dead. “You’re dead!” Gore said looking at the panther.
‘I feel dead.’ Jared mindlinked Gore.
“How can this be?” Gore wasn’t sure what was going on. He put his hand in the cage and grabbed front left paw. Making him scream in pain. “You don’t know pain yet, panther,” Gore said digging one of his nails into Jared’s fur making it bleed. As the blood dripped from his paw Gore froze the drop of blood in the air. Letting go of Jared’s paw he looked at the droplet of blood. Gore wrapped his hand over the droplet and made it turn into a red oval crystal.
Holding the thing in his hand he opened his palm using his magic to it start to lift from his hand. It began to spin making different colors of light come from it. As the lights changed it told Gore everything he needed to know. “Oh this is big problem.” Gore said realizing what he had here in the cage. How did the panther get here? “How did you get here?” Gore asked Jared.
Jared was in so much pain he was about to pass out.
Wye let go of Gore and moved away from him. He knew the Master was getting upset. Wye didn’t want to be in the way of his wrath. “Kitty you tell Master what he needs to know. Please Wye begs you. Just answer him.” Wye said his voice shaking.
Jared didn’t answer him instead he passed out cold.
“Is the Kitty dead?” Wye asked.
“No, not yet. He will be soon though. I can’t have him here. Unless.” Gore said smiling. A plan started to form in his mind.
