Single Omega: M/M Shifter Mpreg Romance (Alphas Of Alaska Book 4) by Emma Knox (2)

Chapter 2

Sean

What were the odds to find an older Omega with such a nice body and beeeee-hind? I hadn’t expected to find his sort up in here, with a lustful undertone that had me battling the should-I-or-shouldn’t-I approach? I went with the first, because he was having a fretful time trying to score with these unflustered Alphas who barely picked up on his temperature which was causing my own sweat glands to pay a visit.

After the guy in the suit, I knew it would be worth hanging around and seeing if he would purchase a drink? That would determine to me that he wasn’t having the best time, and then my que to approach would be justifiable because I wanted to offer an alternative: get with an Alpha like me!

What could I offer this Omega? Well, for one thing, a better conversation than most. And when I got close to him I nearly passed out; because he must’ve been building a frustration-tank up to the roof with that sexual-urgency dancing in my loins. I mean, his loins. I was in the mood to pull and he seemed to like the smell of me. He was sweet: ten sugars added to a tea sickly sweet, and I wanted him all.

And it was funny, because I could read all this with him carrying himself like a shifting-nun. “I’m Sean. You must’ve heard of me?”

“Um—”

“I’m kidding! I like that you had to think about it though.”

“I didn’t notice you doing the speed dating? Your name wasn’t on the list either.”

“I arrived late, so my name being Sean wasn’t allowed to enter anymore.”

He could tell that wasn’t the whole white truth.

“I have a feeling you were one of those on the wall: having a laugh at how sad we all must look?”

“Na. Most of them were amusing I can’t lie, but you… I felt sorry that you should have to be participating in a sordid game like this.”

“You were watching me then?”

“You surprised me out of everybody else. For one thing, you seem a little over qualified for this sort of race.”

Robbie stopped with the swirling glass and still wouldn’t look at me. “You mean…being unwedded?”

“Unattached…yes. I figure it’s because no Alpha can handle the smooth exterior?”

“Interesting that I wish we could take this conversation to one of those seats over there?”

“You move quickly!” I clenched my fist when I finally got a glimpse of those eyes in the bar lit by red candlelight’s all around us. My cerebrum couldn’t keep up with the pace of my lust. And I brought two brandies to cope. “One for the open road?”

“Who says we’re hitting the open road?” Our brandies were coming, and Robbie seemed apprehensive now. “What sort of idea must you have about me?”

“That you want this more than me?”

“Are you speaking about that brandy you’re holding?” I dunked that brandy down my gob and held the liquor in my mouth with a yes-yes headshake.

“I think you reckon I want to leave with you, Sean?”

I swallowed the brandy, and it burned me into a side-grin as I played it out like it didn’t with a cough. “I’m just saying I’d like for us to go find somewhere a little more private than those seats over there. And that’s me asking you real nicely. Some Alphas just…try to cover up the truth of their needs.”

“I’m sure your need’s get regularly met, Sean. A few Omegas seem to wish they were sitting in my place.”

“Well, let them be jealous. I’m with you.”

Robbie still hadn’t drunk his brandy.

“Want me to drink that for you so we can leave?”

“Are you sure I’m the one in the heat? You seem pretty frenzied.”

“It’s the effect you’re having on me, Robbie. You need to stop this and give me a damn break.”

Robbie liked that.

I felt I was doing ok. “I’m literally reaching over for your brandy to hose down all this sexual tension I’m feeling for you.” I had my fingers on that shot glass with Robbie who leaned closer to me and coyly brushed against my knuckles to take the shot glass back.

“Where do you want us to go?”

“I should try that gentleman tone and say it’s up to you? Wherever we can be alone?”

“And will we be talking?” Robbie rubbed his thumb and index finger up-and-down the glass enticingly: with his shoulder pointed at me.

“How about you word it more bluntly to me, Robbie? I know you want to.”

“Ok.” Robbie lowered his eyes to my lips then back to my irises. “Do you want to talk or fuck?”

I held my ear lobe and stretched it to really understand that all I received from Robbie was, “Fuck. I want to fuck.”

I’m sure I saw Robbie’s eyes fall to my crotch? And when it did, he shot that brandy down and swallowed it quicker than my ass getting up from that stool…before adding to the rush of him giving me a clear message to follow with his eye-rope.

I wanted to order a bottle for the road, but the bartender said that it wasn’t allowed. Robbie was already near the exit and he was quite the puzzle to me: old Omegas tended to be stiffer than a paralyzed pedestrian caught by a honking lorry. He hadn’t told me his age, but I could tell the aging lines of elder Omega’s that burdened them like a foam intoxicating what once was.

If they had a broken tale it was more prominent to discover. And it ran deeper than their stares. Robbie had trouble holding my own when we left the bar, but he was in the mood for my tongue down his throat that started with an itchiness — which he physically got rid of down the side of his neck with his blunt nails scratching that scratched away.

He had a nice neckline that I traced to the side of his Adam’s apple when he slanted to the right. And when he caught me doing that, I maintained that confident anecdote of wanting him to know that tonight I would make his woes disappear…even if it was for those brief hours.
