"Stay?" I asked again, even though he was already doing just that, settling down next to me. I turned to my side, fitting myself into the curve of his body and he reached down to yank up the covers.

I'm not sure if he saw what he was looking for. But he settled back down behind me and pulled me tight to him, and in that moment I really hoped he did.
