Once breakfast is cleared and cleaned up, I want Mia to stay for the day. Maybe take her out on the horses and back to our spot where it all started. Just thinking about how Mia is around me and how easily we mesh together is satisfying. I know we haven’t been together long, but that doesn’t mean shit to me. I feel it in my bones that she’s the one. She’s the missing piece to the puzzle… she’ll be my life and soon, one day, our children.
“You wanna go down to the horses today?” I ask as she’s soaking in the sun that’s filtering through the windows in the kitchen. She looks up with a serene smile and says, “I’d love to. Do you think we can ride today?”
“Yea, Darlin,’ I got a mare, Princess that’s an easy ride. I think you and her will fit right in with each other.”
“I bet she’s beautiful.” She has a smile on her that makes my dick ache to be back inside her and my heart full.
“I’m looking at beauty,” I whisper, kissing her yet again because I can’t seem to stop myself.
When we reach the barn, I see Joe and say hello. He smiles, probably because he knows that I’m keeping my body in front of Mia, just to insure that she’s away from him. I may be an asshole for doing so, but Mia is mine. With her work schedule and me being at the auction, I want to make sure I spend as much time with her as I can. I want her focused on me.
When the horses are ready, I grab my Stetson and put it on her head, so she doesn’t get sun burnt.
“There ya go, Mia. Now the sun won’t be in your eyes,” I say as I steal a kiss from her.
I take her out on the trails that lead us to the creek on my property. She stops abruptly. I start to ask her what’s wrong, when I just look at her. She’s on top of Princess in just your everyday jeans and a flannel type top. She looks like she was born to be on a horse. It brings it to the forefront of my mind that I’ll be making her a permanent fixture with me sooner, rather than later.
“It’s so beautiful. I could stay here forever,” she mumbles, almost like she doesn’t want me to hear her.
Little does she know that hearing her say those words, gives me nothing but happiness.
When we make it to the creek, I hop off my horse and go over to hers to help her down. I slide her down against my body and hold her close. I get the blanket I grabbed before leaving and we head down to the creek.
I’m wishing like hell, I could take her again, but I know she’s sore.
We lay under the shade tree by the creek and talk about our hopes and dreams. She tells me how she one day wanted to be a Veterinarian, but gave that up to help take care of her dad. Mia’s sharing parts of herself with me that I know she’s never told another soul. It makes me comfortable enough to explain how I’ve always loved the ranch and couldn’t imagine leaving it. Some women might think that makes me boring, but I know Mia doesn’t. She loves this ranch almost as much as I do, despite only having been here a short time.
Before long, the sun begins getting so hot that I’m afraid she will burn. I help her up and we head back down towards the farm.
“Promise me we’ll come back here soon?” she asks as I’m helping her up on the horse.
“We’ll come back every day if you want, Darlin’,” I tell her. In response, she leans down and kisses me.
