Logan's Loves: Men of Crooked Bend Book 8 by Taylor Rylan (8)

Logan — 7

So far, things weren’t going too bad. But it hadn’t even been a full day home yet. Scarlett seemed quite taken with the twins, much to both mine and Rhett’s pleasure. And Jacob and Isaac had met the babies. Now all we had to do was survive dinner with our parents and then our first night home with Ash and Abi. Piece of cake, right?

After Jacob and Isaac left, Rhett and I dozed on the couch; Scarlett was still upstairs, watching over the twins. How we could still be tired was beyond me, but when you were warm, comfortable, and your husband was in your arms, it was soothing and relaxing.

I expected to be interrupted by the twins, but instead it was the arrival of our parents. I definitely needed to get the house key back from my parents because…no, we weren’t going through that again.

“Oh, they’re sleeping. We should be quiet,” Mom said in a not at all quiet voice.

“Too late. You’ve already woken us up,” I said as I turned my head and looked at her. She didn’t look at all apologetic for waking us. “Mom, you really need to work on your subtlety.”

“Now why would I do that?” she asked as she put her hands on her hips in a huff.

“Because yours sucks, dear,” Dad said, causing not only me and Rhett to laugh, but James and Taylor as well. Mom’s cheeks flushed bright red, and she stomped off toward the kitchen in a snit. Dad quickly followed, still laughing. I knew she wasn’t really upset and so did he but he followed, just as always. My parents were just as in love now as they were when I was little. You could tell simply by the way they looked at each other.

“How are you two doing?” James asked as Rhett and I sat up.

“As well as can be expected, I guess. Logan was puked on and I was peed on. Fun times.”

I saw Taylor wince and James scrunch his nose. If this was how our first day home was going to go, it was going to be a long night.

“Papa, is it possible to get your recipe for chicken cordon bleu? I’d love to make it sometime, but I can’t quite remember the sauce you put on it. I can make the chicken, but there’s something I keep screwing up in the sauce,” Rhett asked suddenly.

“That’s not a problem at all but that’s an odd request,” Taylor said with a confused look.

“Not really. He’s been craving it lately, so I’m not surprised at all,” I told my father-in-law.

“Oh, well, that makes sense, then. But sure, I’ll write it down for you.”

I watched as Taylor walked off toward the kitchen, and then my eyes met James’s. “I know it was already asked, but are you sure everything’s okay with you two?”

“We’re okay. It’s been a rough start, but we’re hoping to get Ash and Abi synced up and on the same schedule. That’ll help. But if not, then it’ll probably be a rough couple of months.”

“Were they like this in the hospital?”

“No. But it’s possible that because Logan and I are home now, we’ve changed our routine from the one in the hospital. We’re so tired, Dad, and if we fall asleep, it doesn’t help.”

“You need to sleep. Maybe set an alarm on your phones? Are the twins just not waking up at the same time?”

“No. Ash sleeps through Abi crying. She’s not eating as much as her brother and wants to be fed more often. It’s really playing havoc with everything,” I told him.

“What are you doing different?” James asked, the concern in his voice apparent.

“We’re going to try undressing her. In the hospital, she was just in a onesie and swaddled and we had no issues,” Rhett said as he got up. I followed because if I stayed in one place for long, I was going to doze back off.

“Isaac said it’s possible that she’s getting too warm when she’s next to us and that’s why she’s falling asleep before she eats enough. He said that’s what happened with Mack, and the pediatrician told him to strip him down when feeding him,” I said as we walked to the kitchen. The babies were probably going to need to be fed again soon, so we needed to get some bottles ready to go.

Except, when we arrived in the kitchen, it was already fluttering with activity. “Oh good. Now, I’m not seeing any dirty bottles and that can’t be right. Please say you’ve fed the babies since you got home,” Mom said as she poured bottled water into a blender before adding formula powder to it. When she hit blend, the noise was loud, but only for a few moments, and then silence fell in the room.

“We’ve fed them. I guess we left the bottles upstairs. I can go get them,” Rhett replied, looking confused and something else I couldn’t quite put my finger on yet.

“Mom, what are you doing?”

“I’m prepping bottles. You aren’t going to want to try and mix up bottles in the middle of the night. Trust me on that. They’ll be good in the fridge for a day, and all you’ll have to do is pop them in that fancy bottle warmer. And you need to make sure you have all of your diapers and wipes prepped. Also, be sure to not get behind on laundry. You’re going to have to do it daily from now until the twins are in school.”

Rhett and I looked at each other before he grimaced, shrugged, and then went to retrieve the bottles we’d left upstairs.

“Wow, okay. I didn’t think about that. Thanks, Mom.” I was trying to be nice. I really was, but I now knew what Rhett’s look was. This was going to be a battle if I didn’t put a stop to it, soon. Rhett and I were first-time parents, but that didn’t mean we couldn’t handle everything. “We really appreciate the tip. And the help. All of you. This is a bit…”

“Overwhelming? I can relate completely,” James said as he placed a hand on my shoulder and gave it a squeeze. I nodded, because he did understand and could relate.

“How did you do it?” I asked.

“Poorly at first. Since I was a single dad, it was just me when I came home from the hospital with Jasper and Sean. I made it all of two days before I called an agency, begging for a nanny. I had one by that afternoon, and Anna was actually with us until we moved here.”

“Wow. I’m not sure if Rhett wants a nanny. We haven’t talked about it, and the twins were the reason why he sold the bakery. I know he wants us to do the majority of everything, and I agree with him.”

“You’ll be fine. You’ll get a routine worked out, and things will go smoother than they are,” Dad told me.

“I hope so, Dad, because they’ve been rough so far,” Rhett said from behind us.

Mom gasped and we all looked at her until we saw she was looking behind us, so we turned. There was Rhett, Abi in his arms, several bottles precariously balanced there as well. James rushed over and took the dirty bottles, but Mom was already walking over to coo at her newest granddaughter.

“Does she need to be fed?” she asked, the hopefulness in her voice evident.

“Yes, and Ash isn’t far behind her. He was already stirring when I left the nursery, and Scarlett was getting antsy.”

“That’s my cue,” James said before taking off for the stairs.

“You don’t…” Rhett started but stopped because James was already gone. “He doesn’t have to. We can do it. They’re ours to…”

“Son, you and Logan need to be okay with help. That’s what we’re here for. We’re not trying to take over, we simply know how difficult the first few days home can be. Especially your dad. He’s done the twins thing,” Taylor told Rhett. Rhett seemed to relax a bit but not completely.

“Okay, let me have my granddaughter, and I’ll get her fed,” my dad said with a bottle in one hand, a burp rag over his shoulder, and grabby hands for the baby.

“Why do you get to feed her first?” Mom asked.

“Because that was the agreement. You and Taylor were making dinner, remember?” Mom sighed, but after she gave Abi a quick kiss on her head, she went back to pouring formula into bottles. Just in time, too, because James came back with a hungry Ash. He was sucking on his fist so hard, I’d have thought it would hurt. James, too, had a burp rag thrown over his shoulder and Scarlett was right behind him, whining. After taking the bottle that Mom offered, he thanked her and then walked off toward the living room to join Dad.

“You two need to go rest. We’ll take care of the twins as well as Scarlett,” Taylor told us.

“We’ve been resting,” Rhett told his papa. It was true, we had, but I could certainly use another power nap. I tugged on Rhett’s sleeve, getting his attention.

“Munchkin, they’re pros. Let them help, please? Come on, let’s go take a power nap before dinner.” Rhett nodded before he leaned heavily into my side. “How long? We’ll set an alarm.”

“You don’t have to do that. We’ll knock on your door. You two go relax,” Taylor told me, and I nodded before I smiled at Mom and then all but pulled my husband up the stairs.

“Are you sure it’s okay?”

“Why wouldn’t it be? Whenever Kait and Boone came home with one of the girls, the family all pitched in and helped. Her parents came and stayed with them for several weeks.”

“I guess it’s a good thing Boone gets along with his in-laws.”

“Sweetheart, so do we. I love your dads as much as my own parents.”

“I know, and I’m thankful for that,” Rhett said as we entered our bedroom. I closed the door and then pulled Rhett into my arms before I lowered my mouth to his and gave him a warm, gentle kiss. I got the desired reaction when he moaned and fisted the front of my shirt.

Breaking the kiss that was just getting good, Rhett looked up at me, the desire already there in his eyes. “You have to stop, or I’m going to want to do more than just kiss you.”

“Why stop, then? Taylor said for us to go relax. Isn’t this leading to something that we both know is very relaxing?”

“We can’t. The babies—”

“Are fine. They’re with two sets of grandparents. Your dads raised three boys. My parents raised two. I think our twins are safe for a couple of hours.”

“What if they hear us? I mean, the twins’ bedroom is right next door.”

“I can’t believe you of all people are worried about that. You gave me a blowjob under my desk when Graham was sitting across from me.”

“That was different. He’s your brother. Not our parents. And we ourselves weren’t parents then. Aren’t we supposed to be, I don’t know, mature now?”

I chuckled at my husband because he was just so damn cute. “All right then. You’ll just have to be quiet. Now, how about we start with a nice hot bath? Together.”

Rhett groaned before he pushed his hips into my thigh. Good. He was on the same page as me. I laced my fingers with his and led him to the bathroom where I started the bath. It would take some time to fill, but not nearly as long with both of us going into the tub, so I grabbed Rhett’s shirt and started to lift it above his head. He raised his arms, allowing me to pull it off. I tossed it over onto the counter, and then I got on my knees and pulled his sweats and briefs off in one go.

Rhett’s already hard cock sprung out and slapped his stomach before it rested pointing straight out at me. I couldn’t help taking a quick taste, which earned another moan from my husband. I pulled off after just a few seconds though; I needed him to step out of his pants.

“What…”

“Step out and get in the tub.”

Rhett gave me a glare before he did as I asked. His sweats and briefs joined his shirt and I quickly undressed before I climbed into the tub behind him. I pulled Rhett back to me before I wrapped my arms around his chest and started nuzzling his neck.

“How are you supposed to give me a blowjob if you’re behind me?”

“Who says we’re giving blowjobs? What if I want to be inside you? Or have you inside me? It’s been a few days, sweetheart.”

“I know, but I’m trying to get used to the whole being a parent thing. I’m really worried about our parents hearing us,” Rhett said before he leaned forward and turned off the water. He was quickly back in my arms, and I pushed my hips forward and pushed my cock into his ass. He moaned again, which gave me hope.

“You sure you don’t want to? I’m happy just holding you, as always, but if nothing else, at least fuck me, please?”

“Fuck, Logan,” Rhett said before he turned around and straddled my legs. I was forced to close them so he’d have room, much to my disappointment. “Where’s the lube?” Rhett asked while looking around for the bottle we had stashed near the tub. I spotted it on the other end and pointed to it. Rhett climbed off my lap and turned around to fetch the bottle, giving me a lovely view of his ass and puckered hole. I couldn’t help myself, and when I ran a finger gently over it, Rhett moaned and dropped his head forward.

“I need you to fuck me, Logan. Who knows when we’ll get a chance again,” Rhett told me as he handed me the bottle and then grabbed onto the side of the tub, presenting his ass to me.

“You sure? I’m happy with blowjobs. Or hell, I’m happy to just cuddle. I meant it when I said it earlier.”

The growl I got in response sent me into motion, and I quickly got up on my knees behind my husband. Bathtub sex wasn’t my favorite—I preferred blowjobs in the tub—but if Rhett wanted me inside him, who was I to argue?
