Stolen Kisses by Elena M. Reyes (12)

More of You

HUNGRY YET?” Bailey asked a few hours later, her voice low against my neck. She was nuzzled there, just relaxing after playing in the water—wrestling me under a few times.

That, and making me erupt like a pre-pubescent teen at the first sight of tits.

Cute little thing was wrapped around me while the waves crashed around us, just soaking up the nice and sunny day while letting me touch her.

My hands couldn’t stop their exploring, enjoying how good she felt in my arms.

“Are you?” I countered just as low, not wanting to disrupt the peace we were enjoying. So far, she’d been pliable to my needs—had given in, but I knew the questions were coming. Her reproach.

And while I didn’t want to face that just yet, I wouldn’t begrudge her either. Bailey deserved to know the truth.

I simply punk’d out. Wasn’t ready for her then.

She was too young, and I was confused.

My hands continued to skim the expanse of her back and then lower over her ass. I gave the supple flesh a squeeze and then began the journey back up again.

Her content little noises made me smile.

“I could eat.”

“Seafood or—”

She looked up then and flicked my lip. “That’s not even a question. Let’s get a table at the Shack overlooking the water. I’ve been dying for their blackened Mahi Mahi tacos.”

“As you wish.”

“Good.” She buried herself into my neck once more and tightened her legs around my waist.

“You need to let go, sweetheart.”

“Carry me to the shore.” It wasn’t a question. Demanding little thing.

“Hold on,” I said with a chuckle, my lips kissing the top of her soft hair. Bailey didn’t release her hold on me until she was safely on the blanket and had managed to keep the sand off her body.

A thank you, Miles was all I got once her feet touched the ground.

It hurt to see those shorts shimmy up her hips and her top cover those perky tits, but the day was still young, and we’d be here a while.

We could hit the water again later.

For now, I’d feed her.

Then maybe later, I could have her pretty pussy as dessert.

“Jesus, that was so good.” Bailey pushed her polished plate aside and patted her stomach. “I shouldn’t have eaten those last two bites. Totally going to have stuffing-my-face remorse in a bit.”

“You’re too cute, babe.” Leaning over the table, I swiped my finger across the corner of her lip, swiping the chocolate there. I’d finished eating a while back and had skipped dessert while my girl indulged.

Watching her enjoy that decadent piece of chocolate cake was my idea of porn. The way she savored and moaned with each tiny bite.

Fucking beautiful.

Bailey sat stock still, eyes on mine as I brought the sweet-covered finger to my lips and then sucked the remnants off. “Taste good too.”

For some reason, that was the wrong thing to say.

Her sated body went from lax to stiff in the span of seconds.

“Would you like anything else today?” Our server chose that moment to interrupt us, and I had no clue yet if that was for the best.

“We’ll take two coffees, please, to go. Cream and sugar for both.”

At Bailey’s quick reply, he nodded.  “Be right back.”

Then we were two again.

For some reason, beads of sweat formed at my brow. “Hit me. I can see that you have something to get off your chest.”

“You’ve always known my tells, haven’t you?” My girl sat back, arms crossed over her chest. “Sometimes you know me better than I know myself.”

“I do.” Mimicking her pose, I sat back.

“Then I am waiting.” Our server came back then with our coffees in hand and our check. He placed both down and bid us a good evening before rushing off to help a waitress with her large party.

“That’s a conversation best had in private.” Dropping a few bills on the table, I stood, picked up my cup, and extended my other hand out. “Come with me.”

“Seems like all my life I’ve followed your lead.”

“And I ask you to do so once more. Let me explain,” I implored, begged with my eyes for her to follow and hear me out. Luckily, she did. Hand in mine, she followed me out and back toward the beach while sipping her coffee.

We didn’t talk. Not so much as a smile while I found us a quiet spot on the sand and sat down with her between my legs. She didn’t protest. Instead, she let me lead her into my arms with her back to my chest and my thighs surrounding hers.

There were still quite a few people up and down the beach, but here in this spot, it was just the two of us looking out toward the vast ocean.

It was when she let out a long sigh that I spoke.

“How much do you remember of that night in the pool four years ago?”

“Everything.” No hesitation.

“And did anything about my behavior stand out to you?” The wind around us picked up a tiny bit, and my girl shivered. I pulled my shirt off and sat back enough to pull it over her head and thread her arms through it.

“Thanks,” she spoke low, but I heard.

“You’re welcome, babe. Now please answer the question.” Wrapping my arm around her waist, I breathed in her soft scent. “Did I seem off to you?”

Bailey broke out in goose bumps. “You were upset over Erica—”

“Let me stop you right there.” With the tip of my finger, I turned her face back to mine. “It was never about her that night. We were done. That part of my life never made sense and when we broke it off, it felt right. Was right.”

“So why the gutted expression. You looked so down…” her voice became thick and she had to stop and clear her throat “…hurt.”

“To be honest, not until recently did I understand my reactions that night. Why I was in the mood you found me in.”

“Then explain, because I—”

“I was leaving you, Bailey.” At my confession, a small gasp escaped her, and she looked away. Tried and failed to hide the tear that fell from her eye. And even though I wanted nothing more than for our stare to be locked for this next part, I continued. “Leaving you here while I went to school—the fact that you’d be growing up without me, ate at me like nothing else. You wouldn’t have my protection. I wouldn’t be here to scare guys off or knock out the first fucker that made you cry. That separation didn’t feel right, and it was something that I didn’t know how to handle.”

“Because of me? I don’t know…I’m lost here, Miles. Help me understand.”

“A part of my heart recognized in you its other half while my brain rejected the idea. You were young and up until that night, I’d never seen you as anything other than a sibling. A friend.”

“It was a shock to your system,” she added, nodding to herself. That reaction didn’t tell me much, but at least she wasn’t getting up and slapping me.

“Ouch!” Little thing suddenly elbowed me in the ribs while yanking on the fine hairs on my legs with the other hand. “What the hell?”

Angry and spitting fire from her eyes, she whirled around on her knees to face me. Bailey looked ready to punch me. “So instead of talking to me, explaining, you walk away and treat me like shit?”

“Language.”

“Fuck you.”

“Babe, stop.” Taking her hands in mine, I yanked her to me, causing her to stumble into my chest.

“Let go, jerk.” Bailey pushed my hands away, but I manipulated her to my liking. I had her settled sideways on my lap before she realized what was fully happening. “How could you?”

“I was scared.”

At that, she froze and her struggling stopped. “What?”

“Sweetheart, you scared the living fuck out of me back then.” Her tear-filled eyes settled on mine, lip trembling a tiny bit. However, she didn’t talk, just watched me. Waited. “Bailey, I fucked up. I know that walking away like that and pushing you out was a dick move, but I didn’t know how to accept what my heart seemed to know. Even as kids, we shared this tight bond, and along the way it morphed into emotions I couldn’t accept due to fear: of your age, our family’s reaction, and my leaving. Hurting you was everything I didn’t want but couldn’t stop. I’m sorry.”

For a long time after my apology neither of us spoke.

Bailey settled herself in my arms and just let me hold her. Sometimes I’d hear her sniff, while other times she’d mumble something under her breath.

I let her have that time.

Gave her some limited space so she could try and make sense of everything I’d just confessed.

The early evening sky had turned dark across the water the longer we sat there in silence. Waves crashed and that sweet, salt air cocooned us in a bubble.

Slowly, the lights along the pier and boardwalk illuminated the sky as everyone flocked to their rides and entertainment.

“Sweet or salty?” The question was asked so low I almost didn’t hear her.

It was also a trick question if I ever heard one. My girls always had a sweet tooth, and four years hadn’t changed that.

“Bullshit question, baby. You know that.” At my response she looked up, and I could almost see the nasty reply sitting on her tongue. Instead, I nipped her lip and then soothed the sting with my tongue. “Don’t curse.”

“Shut up.” She shrugged; her body was turned toward me—or as much as my hold allowed, my grip too firm. Having her tucked against my body felt too good. Soothed me. “And I was going to say maybe, Miles. However, if I wanted to curse, that’s at my discretion. My choice.”

Cute. I’d let her think that and re-fight that battle later.

Besides, I found it hot as fuck when she did. Not that I’d ever tell her.

There was a place and time for her to curse—whenever she was riding my cock being it.

“Maybe what? Tell me.”

“Maybe means that I’ve changed. That I’m not the same girl you once knew.” Those light green eyes stared at me—she was searching for something, but I just didn’t know the what? “For all you know, I’m a health nut. Obsessed with my body and keep sweets at bay.”

There was a hidden meaning behind that small jab:

She wasn’t the same little girl I left behind. That I’d missed her growing up, becoming the woman who I now loved.

Of that I had no doubt.

The familial care had morphed into this sacred emotion that caused my heart to beat fast every time I saw her. Opened my eyes to the beautiful world of loving her and witnessing the purity of her love for me in return.

Her emotions never waned or died. They’d survived heartbreak.

She was mine, and I was hers.

“And again, I call bullshit.” With a quick reversal of our positions, I had her pinned beneath me on the blanket, the cool ocean breeze swirling around us.

Every single decadent curve of her small body was pressed against my own, my hips trapped between her warm thighs.

“What are you…?” Bailey gasped, lips parting, her exhale sweet on my lips.

“I know you, doll,” I whispered, nose skimming her chin and then nipping her neck. “All of you. This heart...” my palm pressed itself over her chest “is hurt, and that’s my fault. I did that, but while it’s a tiny bit angry, it’s still mine. Wants this as much as I do, because it realizes that we aren’t whole without the other.”

“Hunter, I—”

With that, I kissed her. Slow and sweet, I let my emotions come through my touch while her own responded in kind. Her lips said everything she didn’t at that moment.

Admitted that this craziness was very mutual.
