Marco

I’m in the study looking at the latest figures of this new construction wondering if maybe it’s been a big mistake. The first projections suggested it would be a couple of million. Now, they’re doubling the price as if I’m a bank with no limit. No authorization. I don’t know what to do right now as my head is buried in my hands and I think maybe my dad was right. One day I’ll come back to him, not because I want to, but because I can’t-do things alone.

People don’t respect nice, and it doesn’t work with businesses, especially ones like the casino industry, which is why I dip my fingers in other areas and by the look of things that’s not working either.

Fuck!

There’s a knock at the door. I think it’s Leah who’s finally woken up and doesn’t want to be alone anymore or that she’s lost in the house.

I move, and she’s been following me. I’m not even sure if she knows her way around, even when she’s only been here one night I don’t expect her to be able to do it so easily.

“What?” I blurt out debating whether to go back home and just call an emergency meeting and call the whole thing off. At this rate, I’ll have two choices, to either file for bankruptcy or go back to my family and ask them for help.

Someone is doing something they shouldn’t be doing. Figures don’t fucking double overnight. That part is clear, and I know for sure it’s no one from my team. I just wonder where the leak is and that always leads to trouble. That’s when the door opens, and I’m surprised to see David coming through it.

“Sorry, sir, am I disturbing you?”

I hesitate as I wonder what’s happened this time. Normally, when David comes on the island, I know that he doesn’t come alone. I don’t mind. He’s one of my trusted employees because from the moment my dad took away his family, I helped him get back on his feet. I helped him get into rehab so he could kick his drug and alcohol habit. It was the least I could do after my dad killed his for betraying him. His mom didn’t hesitate in taking her own life, thinking that my dad would do the deed. He had no intention of doing that, Dad may be a lot of things, but when it came to killing women and children, he did have a soft spot. One that few knew about at the best of times.

“No, it’s fine. What’s on your mind?” If he’s coming to see me, then it must be for a reason. A really good one.

He nods as he turns to close the door.

Curiosity gets the better of me as I close my laptop and give him my full attention.

“I wanted to talk to you yesterday, but with the flight and the time that we got here. I just didn’t get the chance to do it.”

“Sit down, David. What’s on your mind?”

It’s not like him to hesitate or even stall about what he wants to say. He’s the type of guy that just spits it out. He doesn’t gossip like the other drivers, and he certainly doesn’t mess around when it comes to telling me what’s wrong which is why I’m surprised about his hesitation as his eyes dart around the office.

“Did you bring someone with you?”

He shakes his head, but this time he’s looking at the ground and making me feel a bit nervous. It can’t be that bad.

“Sorry, girls?”

Remembering the last time I gave him a week off, and he spent it pleasuring himself with twins. I smile at him, but the stern look on his face tells me that this is no laughing matter.

“I know that you do your checks before you bring any girl here. Sometimes anyone.”

He’s not asking, but telling me and this leads me to believe that this conversation has something to do with Leah which surprises me even more. Then I remember that it took her a long time to get from the apartment back to the limo with nothing in her hand.

“It’s Leah. There’s something wrong. She was asking questions, but then not asking them, and it just made me realize that something’s wrong. I just have that feeling. Girls don’t normally ask questions. They talk, not ask questions.” He nods as if he wants me to understand what he’s trying to say in little words as possible.

I know exactly what he means, the few girls that I’ve hired from the club to visit me here. The ones that have been on the exclusive list, and I’ve paid a heavy price to have first access to them treat their journey here like they’re either too nervous to talk to David or if they do, they want to know about the island.

Leah seems to have come and done everything as if she knew what to expect. I’d suspected that our meeting wasn’t by chance, but I thought that I was paranoid. David’s confirmed that I wasn’t paranoid and Leah may not be as innocent as I thought she was, which leads me to the question if she is here based on one of my enemies or something far worse. Is she out for revenge?

“Do you think that she knows something?”

He nods his head. “I’m pretty sure she does. But the question is what?”

I fold my arms and sit back in my chair. I need to figure out what to do with this piece of information because if Leah’s playing some game. I’m going to find out what, she may think that she’s got me. But, she has no idea what she’s dealing with, but she’s in my territory, and I’ll make sure that I teach her a lesson. One she’ll never forget.

She shouldn’t have wanted to swim with the sharks when she’s just a little fish.

I watch as she stretches out her arms. She’s feeling the sheets. The softness of the silk against her skin. I wonder if she’s doing it, because she’s making herself comfortable or if she has any idea what’s going to happen next if I find out that she’s been sent. As so many have been before her. But they don’t even make it to the fucking island. I figure out their plan before they can beg for mercy. I send them back as an example of what will happen if you try to double cross me.

I should do that with Leah, but there’s just one problem. I’m not sure who sent her, and I have no intention of letting her go until I get exactly what I want.

“Marco, what are you doing over there?” she purrs as she smiles at me.

Her bedroom eyes are drawing me back into the bed, but after David’s revelation, it keeps me at bay. I’m trying to run a legitimate business, and I don’t need my cock getting in the way of that. Maybe I’d let my sensitivity get the better of me. I won’t be doing that again, not after I found out the deal I’ve spent the last two years on is taking me for a ride.

I’d filled enough pockets to ensure that everything goes according to plan. I didn’t just use one architectural firm, but two. Neither of them are cheap, because of their explicit reputation and yet the cost of the construction is escalating and we are only half way through the plans. Maybe I let my bad judgment get away with what should have been the perfect opportunity?

That is about to change.

“Tomorrow’s Sunday. It’s not good for you to sleep all day. Especially seeing as you have work on Monday.”

My cold words seem to take her by surprise as she nearly jumps off the bed. “I know, but I thought that I was staying until tomorrow. Or have you changed your mind?” She’s yawning as she stretches out with her breasts on display. I can see that her nipples are rock hard and as much as I want to suck them right now, I want her to know who’s boss and most of all that she’s on my land, my home and right now she’s going to be taught that I’m no man’s fool. I walk up to her slowly, and she has a dirty smile on her face. She’s anticipating my next move.

“Why were you working at that diner?”

She shakes her head as if I’ve given her a rude awakening, she wasn’t expecting that question, but I decided that going through my PI hasn’t worked because she’s slipped through our fingers and we don’t even know the truth behind why she wants to get close to me.

“Because I wanted to stay in the city,” she says while seductively coming closer toward me.

I can feel her pussy rubbing against my belly as she wraps her arms around my neck.

Her lips are so close as if she’s ready to kiss me to silence me. It doesn’t work like that. More the other way around, I’m the one who’ll tell her when to speak and when to shut up. She’s pushing me into a corner, and I feel weak as if I’m letting her win.

Fuck that!

I’m the one that’s in control of everything, apart from what’s happening right now with my cock.
