Nocturnal Sins by Danielle James (26)

Epilogue

Santana

One year later

When Sammie and I got married there was snow on the ground and barely any people at the small Catholic church we chose. Once our families found out we were together, they showed their disappointment by shunning our wedding.

Fuck ‘em.

Our real friends and family showed up and that meant every soldier was in attendance as well as Marco and Kasey. Well, in all honesty, they couldn’t miss it because they were our best man and maid of honor respectively. They tried their best to stay away from each other but somehow they ended up dancing with each other during the reception and laughing and talking when they thought nobody was looking. As long as they were happy, I wasn’t going to say anything.

After the small reception, Sammie insisted that we go home. She told me no honeymoon because we had to be in town to run the business. It had been a year since we took over for Pop and while things were running smoothly and we were starting to grow outside of Rhode Island, we both wanted to keep a close eye on things.

Our trust was short when it came to other people.

“Let me pour you a drink, Mrs. Alvarez. You didn’t get a glass of champagne at your own wedding reception.” I smiled at her and she smiled back, melting my heart and making my dick stiff at the same time. Sammie was still magic.

“No thanks, Mr. Alvarez,” she giggled, hooking her arms around my neck.

“Come on, don’t make me feel like a drunk all by myself, Princess.” I pressed slow kisses along her neck because I knew she was powerless against them. She squirmed in my arms but still didn’t budge on the champagne.

“What’s going on with you, Sammie?” My brows furrowed together as she pushed away from me. The look on her face made my chest tight with worry.

“Nothing…I just can’t drink champagne or any other alcohol while I’m pregnant.” She looked at me and suddenly her golden skin glowed. My chest was still tight but for a completely different reason.

My wife was pregnant.

Holy shit.

I scooped her up in my arms and spun her around in a very gentle circle before setting her on her feet. “How long have you known?” I asked, my voice loud and bursting at the seams with excitement.

“I found out last night. I took a sip of wine and it made me feel sick to my fucking stomach. Then I realized I hadn’t come on my period this month. At first, I thought it was the stress of our family acting crazy but…” She looked down at her stomach and then up at me.

My hand itched to rub her belly even though it was still flat. She hadn’t even taken off her white beaded wedding gown before I was on my knees rubbing her stomach in slow circles. The joy in my heart hit like a fucking bullet and spread throughout my entire chest.

Samira was having my baby.

“We’re having a baby,” I whispered to myself but also to Mom and Pop. I knew they had to be somewhere listening. It was our wedding day and we were going to have a baby. Parents didn’t miss shit like that even if they were only there in spirit.

“We’re having a baby,” Sammie sniffled, rubbing the top of my head. We needed to celebrate. We couldn’t toast with champagne but I had something better in mind.

I pushed to my feet and held her hand in mine. I couldn’t help the sense of pride in my chest as I ran my thumb over her wedding band. “Come on, let’s go,” I grinned.

“Go where, Santana?”

“It’s time.” I winked at her and an excited smile pulled her cheeks up.

“It’s time?” She squeaked. I nodded and tugged her out of the door. Cold air whipped around us and I tightened Sammie’s coat around her body. It took no time for protective mode to click on with me. “Thanks, Daddy.” Her voice oozed with sarcasm.

I opened the car door for her and snorted, “Save the daddy shit for when we get home and I’m fucking you until you cry.”

She retorted with a middle finger as I pulled off. I shrugged my shoulders and laughed a little. Didn’t stop the fact that I was going to fuck the shit out of her later.

The drive to Pop’s restaurant was short. Pure giddiness pushed both of us forward through the receiving area and to the hidden concrete door cut into the wall. The sound of concrete scraping and rumbling made my fingertips warm.

There was no meeting tonight.

There would be a celebration though.

Samira’s wedding gown swished against the cold ground as we made our way to the very last room down the narrow hall. I produced two keys and opened one lock after the other. I turned to Sammie and smiled, “You ready, baby?”

“So fucking ready. My aim is immaculate at this point,” she bragged. She wasn’t lying though. She’d been shooting every day for more than a year and she’d already shot someone with perfect aim.

The door to the dungeon swung open and Dom groaned and whimpered as pale light poured in, slicing through the blackness. Outside, the moon was high in the sky and that meant it was time to sin. Time to carry out dark sinister acts that would make normal people vomit.

“P—Please,” Dom sputtered. The gleam from his food and water bowls caught my eye in the corner.

“Aw shit, Dom. Nobody gave you food and water today?” I clicked my tongue and walked over to the stainless steel bowls, kicking them with the tip of my shoe. They were dry as bones.

I decided not to kill Dom the night I found Pop. Once he told me how he killed my mother and plotted against my father then decided he would take Sammie and do as he pleased with her, I figured instant death was too kind for him. I decided to keep him alive…barely.

We all took turns torturing Dom whenever we were frustrated or whenever we thought about how fucked up it was that he killed Mom and Pop. Sometimes he got food and water, sometimes he didn’t.

Sometimes I came in and cut off a couple of his fingers or toes…sometimes I didn’t. Right then it was me and Sammie’s turn to have fun and celebrate. I pulled a wicked sharp knife from my back pocket and flicked it open. I placed the cool metal in Sammie’s palm and smiled at her.

“Do your worst, Princess.” Dom groaned on the floor. His frail body rolled from one side to the other and he clutched his head with all four of his fingers. Dark patches of old blood spotted the concrete floor and I stepped on each one until I reached him like a twisted game of hopscotch.

Samira knelt on the cold floor with a gorgeous dark glint in her olive eyes. It was like looking at a thunderstorm on the horizon. She was scary as fuck but I couldn’t look away.

Dom was only clothed in soiled underwear and an undershirt. The stench coming from him was enough to make anyone hold their breath until their lungs burned. Whenever the smell got to be too much, I tossed some bleach and water in the dungeon and sprayed down the floor and walls. I hadn’t cleaned in there in weeks though and it was rank. Sammie seemed not to be affected by it at all as she yanked his yellow stained underwear down.

I winced when she snatched his dick and balls out like they weren’t attached to his body. Dom howled at her rough and jerky motions. “I’ve had a long time to think about this, uncle Dom. You killed my mother and my father and you fucking stalked me. You wanted to fuck me and make me scream…remember?”

“I—I’m sorry, Sam.” Dom’s voice was unrecognizable and so was his face. It was a miracle that he could speak at all given all the teeth he’d lost and how many times his jaw had been broken. Shit, it was a miracle he was alive period.

“That’s nice, uncle Dom but I’ve fantasized so long about cutting your fucking dick off. You’re not going to ruin it for me.” Without another word, Sammie pushed the tip of the knife through Dom’s dick and jerked it to the right slicing his shit clean off his body.

I cringed and shook the disgust from my head as Dom’s high-pitched shrieks filled the closed in concrete room. Red stained Sammie’s wedding dress and I thought she’d be pissed but she looked down at it like it was the most beautiful thing in the world.

“Holy shit, Samira…” I coughed out a laugh as the thick metallic scent of blood and feces rolled through the air. Dom was still howling and writhing in pain while he bled out.

“I’m done,” she smiled with bloody hands. Dom’s cock and balls lay beside his head shriveling with each passing second. “Your turn, Santana.”

“I can’t really follow that up so I guess I’ll just end the show…finally.” I looked at Dom’s face contorted in agony for a few more minutes because every second he suffered was a second setting the scales back in balance for our family.

It was time he died though.

Mom and Pop were long gone and it was time for Sammie and me to start a new life and a new family. It was time to close a beautiful but painful chapter in our lives. I closed that chapter with a single bullet to Dom’s head.

The shot was loud but thankfully Dom’s screams stopped abruptly. My ears were still ringing when Sammie launched into my arms and pressed her lips against mine. We were a little off our rockers but that was only when the moon came out and the sky turned dark. Once the sun was back out, everything went back to normal.

Every morning our nocturnal sins were washed away and we had the chance to start over and every day we chose the darkest path. It was hewn from obsidian and ash and it wasn’t for anyone else.

It was our journey and we’d walk it alone.

Us against the world, forever.

The end.
