Play Room: A Society X Novel by L.P. Dover, Heidi McLaughlin (4)

Alexandria

Flipping through the channels does nothing to curb my curiosity. Why did Dani have to show me that card? I’m not the type of girl who goes to clubs, let alone sex ones. Deep down, it sort of feels like a lie. Like I’ve been lying to myself. Maybe I am the kind of girl who likes those things. I’ve never given myself a chance to explore my hidden desires.

I turn off the TV and grab my laptop, typing in the words Society X in the search engine. The website pops up and I click on it. There are pictures of the inside with all the expensive furnishings. It looks very professional and not cheap or dirty at all. The reviews are even top notch and written by multiple celebrities.

Heart racing, I close my eyes. “Am I seriously going to do this?” I glance at the screen again and sigh. “I guess I am.” It’s only seven o’clock. If I don’t like it, I can leave and get back at a decent time.

Hurrying to my room, I rummage through my clothes and settle on a silver sequin top, black pants, and my silver heels. It doesn’t take long to get to the club, and when I pull into the parking lot, there’s already a line wrapped around the building. I shiver as I get out of the car. Whether it’s from the cold breeze or my nerves, I don’t know. Taking a deep breath, I make my way to the end of the line. There’s a group of girls standing together who all look around my age. I hope like hell none of them know who I am. The last thing I want is for my family to find out what I’m doing.

More people get in line behind me and I feel safe hidden between all the people. No one seems to care that I’m by myself. Luckily, the line moves fast.

“ID, please,” the bouncer asks, holding out his hand. He says it very professionally, which catches me off guard. In the movies, when you see club bouncers they’re always huge and rough looking. Not this guy. He’s still big and muscular, but dressed in a crisp, black tux. I show him my ID and he nods for me to go inside.

Once inside, I’m ushered to a desk where everyone in front of me hands over their belongings to a woman behind the counter. She looks to be in her mid-twenties with black hair and light brown eyes, dressed in a female version of a tux. Judging by the rest of the employees, they all have on the same thing. There’s a sign that says no phones, cameras, or electronic devices allowed inside the club. When it’s my turn, the woman smiles at me and I hand her my purse.

“Is this your first time?” she asks curiously, raking her gaze down my body.

I nod. “Is it that obvious?”

Biting her lip, she looks down at my body again. I’ve never had a woman check me out before. “Kind of. You seem nervous.”

I am, but I don’t want anyone to know that. Casually, I shrug. “I’m fine. Just ready to see what it’s all about.”

She nods toward the main door where another perfectly coifed man in a tux stood. “He’ll lead you in the right direction.”

The last of the group before me walks past the other guy, and when I stop in front of him, he smiles. “There are two rooms down the hall. If you want to watch men on stage, go through the one that’s labeled men and vice versa if you prefer women.”

“Thanks,” I say, hurrying past him.

I glance down both hallways and head toward the men’s side. The music thumps behind the door and I know I have to open it before a line forms behind me. Taking a deep breath, I open it. Women are everywhere around the stage, hollering at the guy onstage who’s dancing around with a hard-on. Frozen in place, I can’t pull my eyes away from the stage. There are people walking all around me, but I can’t seem to move. I’m embarrassed people will see me watching, but then again, everyone else is, too.

“Good evening, I’m Trent. Would you like a drink?” Clearing my throat, I look over to see a young guy with platinum hair and a bright smile. He has to be in his early twenties. “Um, can I have a water?”

“Sure,” he replies, his smile growing wider.

There’s an empty table toward the back of the room and that’s exactly where I go. Women are everywhere, including several men gawking at the strippers on stage. Trent comes back with a bottle of water and hands it to me. “Enjoy your night. I’ll come back around in a few minutes to check on you.”

I nod. “Thank you.”

Once he’s gone, another stripper takes the stage, wearing holey jeans and a white T-shirt. He has light brown hair and tanned skin, which looks good against his white shirt. His body moves across the stage as if he’s born to be there. He slides down to the floor and thrusts like he’s fucking the air. It’s so hot I can feel my insides tighten. I want to reach between my legs and satisfy the ache. Oh, the lustful sins going through my head right now. All of my friends experimented with sex when we were in high school. I’m the only one who shied away from it. Now, it’s like all of my desires and hidden cravings have come at me full force.

The stripper finishes on stage and joins the crowd of women, making his way through them with a huge smile on his face. The ladies go crazy, but none of them touch him. His gaze catches mine and I suck in a breath; especially, when he heads my way.

I don’t want to talk to him.

Grabbing my bottle of water, I get up as fast as I can. I’ve seen enough. The door is only a few yards away, but before I can close the distance, a guy steps in front of me. “Hi,” he says, his lips pulling back in a sexy smirk.

“Hi,” I reply. His dark brown hair is gelled in messy spikes and he has bright blue eyes. He could easily be one of the strippers, but he’s dressed in one of the tuxedos.

Holding out his hand, his eyes stay fixed on mine. “My name’s Jared. You’re Alexandria, right?”

I shake his hand. “How did you know that?”

He shrugs. “I know everyone in this room. I can also tell it’s your first time here.”

Cheeks flaming, I cover my face. “Oh, my God, is there a sign on my forehead? You’re the second person to tell me that.”

I slide my hands down my face and he laughs. “I’ve been in this business for a while now. If it makes you feel any better, there’s a few newbies in this room tonight.” Glancing around the room, I can’t tell who’s who. “Were you getting ready to leave? I see you were headed for the door.”

I shrug. “I don’t know if I belong here. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing club, but it’s not my scene.”

His brows furrow. “Sure about that? You haven’t been here long. There are other parts of the club you haven’t seen.”

My pulse spikes and I can feel the sweat beading at my back. Dani and Adrienne told me about the sex rooms. “Don’t you have to be a member to see those parts?” I ask.

“You do. That’s why I’m here talking to you. I selected you to become a member if that’s something that interests you.”

“Really?” I gasp. “What do you get with a membership?”

His eyes twinkle in the lights. “Follow me and I’ll show you.” I look around the room and I can’t help but notice a lot of evil glares as I follow Jared. He glances back and notices my hesitance. Grinning slyly, he nods toward one of the side doors. “They’re looking at you like that because they know what I’m offering you.”

He opens the door and it seals behind us. The hallway is long and dimly lit with several other closed doors. “I’m assuming you don’t accept everyone?” I ask.

“Unfortunately, no. Not everyone meets our criteria.” I follow him down the hall and he stops at one of the closed doors, his hand on the handle.

“Why did you pick me?”

He stares right into my eyes. “You have an innocence about you. It’s what drew me to you in the first place. Being promiscuous isn’t what all we search for. I watched you looking at the strippers. You like what you saw, but you’re afraid to admit it.”

It’s like he can see right through me. “This is all new to me. I don’t know what I’m doing.”

“You’re here,” he says, his voice like smooth honey. “It’s the first step.” When he presses down on the door handle, the door slides open. It’s dark inside, but he nods for me to take a peek. There’s a couch straight ahead with a woman facing the stage and a man kneeling on the floor, his face buried between her legs. On the stage is a couple having sex, their moans loud enough for me to hear.

Placing a hand on my chest, I step back and Jared closes the door. “Oh, my God.”

He chuckles lightly. “That’s the viewing room. We have a lot of couples who like it. Instead of watching porno movies at home, they come here to watch it live. But you can watch anything you desire. It can be something as simple as a strip tease, or someone masturbating, or people having sex. There are a ton of people who love being watched.”

I clear my throat. “It’s very interesting.” As much as I want to explore things for myself, that isn’t one of them. I’m a little too modest.

Jared stops at another door but doesn’t attempt to open it. “Inside here is the dark room. It’s occupied right now. Basically, it’s a place where you can have a partner and not ever have to know who they are. It’s completely dark to keep anonymity.”

“That’s interesting as well,” I say, unable to form any other words. The thought of the dark room intrigues me, but there’s something no one knows other than my friends … I’m a virgin.

Jared grins, clearly finding me amusing. “The last of our rooms is the play room.” He walks down to the final door and opens it. It’s a huge room with a bed, but there’s a lot of empty space. “We’re getting ready to set it up for our next clients. That’s why there’s nothing in here yet.”

I step inside the room. “What do people do in here?”

Jared peers around the room and then back to me. “Anything you want. It’s more like a fetish room. We have some clients who love sucking toes and other clients who love having their toes sucked. It works perfectly for them. There are even others who enjoy the simple things like blowjobs and breast massages. If you decide to join us, I’ll be your club contact. If there’s something you’re interested in, you can tell me, and I’ll match you up.”

“What about my identity? How can you keep that hidden?”

“Simple,” he says with a grin. “Your partners don’t have to know who you are. If you want, we can make sure they’re blindfolded. Whatever you want, we can do … within reason.”

I walk over to the bed and slide my fingers across the silky, red fabric. The thought of lying on it while a man touches me makes my body tremble. “I’m not experienced, Jared. I wasn’t kidding when I said I’m new to all of this.”

“It’s my job to pick out those who can do this, Alexandria. We all have desires and things we secretly want. For new female members, you get a month free to try everything out. After that, there’ll be a membership fee. You and your partners will be able to rate the experiences you share with each other once they’re done.”

Eyes wide, I glance at him over my shoulder. “You mean, they can say if I’m good or not?” With my luck, I’ll get a bad rating for not being sexy enough, or being completely clueless. If the workers here can see I’m a newbie, I have no doubt my partners will be able to as well.

He chuckles. “And you can do the same. If you want to be good, you’ll have to practice. Not all of us were experts when we first started. Think of it as a learning experience.”

Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes and slowly let the air out. “Okay,” I blurt out. “I’m in. Where do I sign?”
