Sakura: A Secret Affair: Falling for Sakura Trilogy Book 3 by Alexia Praks (27)

A Confession of Love

Darcy was discharged from the hospital five days later, and, in Princeton style, a big Welcome Home party was launched at the holiday house.

The moment Darcy stepped foot out of the car, he was treated and pampered like a king by everyone, especially his brothers Tristan and Logan, who acted as his butlers. Of course, being the down-to-earth person he was, Darcy didn’t want that kind of attention and found it rather tiring. Deep down, all he wanted was for Sakura to be by his side.

Damn, but he wanted to kiss her and, most of all, confess his love for her properly, along with Sebastian of course. But that was not to be, as the house was almost always full of people coming and going, and not one moment had he had the chance to be with her. At least, not until a day later when he and Sebastian had a good talk and made arrangements for things to start moving forward to make it official.

Now, sitting on the couch, drinking coffee, both Sebastian and Darcy watched Sakura as she animatedly chatted with her friends. Meanwhile, the adults were on the other side, also drinking coffee and chatting.

By God, but she was beautiful tonight, wearing a floral summer dress that perfectly showed off her slender body. Her hair, long and lush, was left hanging down her back. And her exquisite face, along with her bright eyes and sensual lips, never ceased to fascinate both men.

Suddenly, she glanced across the room, and her eyes met first with Sebastian and then Darcy. They noted her blushing, and she quickly flicked her gaze away, embarrassed. They saw her licking her lips, and instantly, the two men felt an intense desire for her.

Sebastian cleared his throat then and said to Darcy, “Shall we get things started?”

Darcy nodded eagerly. He got up as he said, “See you later, then?”

“Hm,” Sebastian responded.

Conrad noticed and asked Darcy, “Where are you going?”

Darcy said, hiding a smile, “To get some dessert.”

“How about I join you?” Logan asked enthusiastically.

“No!” Both Sebastian and Darcy said in unison.

Nicolas noticed their abrupt, firm answer and said to Logan, “That type of dessert is not to be shared with you.”

Tristan said, “You’ve piqued my interest.” He turned to eye Darcy with suspicion. “Now, out with it. It’s not dessert you’re after, is it?”

Darcy said firmly, “That’s none of your business.” Then he headed toward the door, leaving not only Conrad, but Logan, Sosuke, Peter, and Jim to wonder what he was up to.

Tristan was about to go after the younger brother when Hayden appeared in front of him. “How about a drinking game?”

Tristan raised a brow as he folded his arms across his chest. “You’re trying to make me forget about Darcy and his dessert, aren’t you?”

Hayden, always blunt, nodded in the affirmative.

Tristan gave in. “Fine.” He turned and said loudly, “All right, everyone, it’s drinking game time.”

At this, Logan cheered while everyone else, including Sosuke, looked desperate to get out.

About an hour later, Sebastian watched in amusement as his brothers and their friends immersed themselves in their drinking game, while all thoughts about Darcy and his dessert left their minds. Obviously, both Tristan and Logan were more than a little drunk and, of course, being rather rowdy. Fortunately, the adults had already retired to another sitting room upstairs where they could chat in peace.

Sebastian continued to join his brothers, though he wasn’t drinking, since he couldn’t afford to. Especially not with what he and Darcy had planned for later that night.

When he noted it was just about time, he quietly slipped from the group and headed to find Sakura.

He found her in the kitchen, talking to Beth and Akira. When the women saw him at the door, he said, “Mind if I steal Sakura away?”

Both Akira and Beth shook their heads.

Sebastian reached his palm out to Sakura as an invitation. “Care for a little stroll?”

“Sure,” Sakura said, and shyly placed her hand in his.

Got ya, Sebastian thought, his eyes twinkling. A moment later, the pair left the house.

In the kitchen, Akira said, “You’re smiling, Beth. What’s up?”

Beth giggled. “I’m just thinking that we might be hearing some good news soon.”

Akira shifted her gaze to the door and smiled, too. “I agree with you.”

Sakura stared long and hard at Sebastian’s hand, which clasped hers, enveloping the smallness of her fingers under his. She didn’t know why, but it felt right, perfect even, that he was leading her away from the noise and the crowd of their happy family, currently immersed in the celebration. She was sure he was leading her somewhere quiet and peaceful where they could talk.

And Darcy? Well, she hadn’t seen him since after dinner when she had made eye contact with him. She wondered where he’d disappeared to, and it worried her. Since the incident, it seemed she always worried about him. What if something were to happen to him again? God, she couldn’t bear the thought of losing him. The fear of it drowned her in paranoia.

She took a deep breath, telling herself Darcy had just gone out, perhaps to get some fresh air, as she and Sebastian were currently doing.

Sebastian. The other man she loved. He was here, safe with her.

She subconsciously moved closer and rested her head against his arm as they walked.

Sebastian turned to look at her, a smile playing about his lips. “What’s the matter?” he asked.

Sakura cast her gaze downward, very aware that his azure eyes were watching her intently, which made her nervous.

She licked her lips and then said, “Nothing.”

Honestly, how could she tell him that the feeling of being with him made her extremely happy, while at the same time, the thought of losing him or Darcy could kill her? And that was the reason she was acting all clingy. Of course she couldn’t tell him that. Instead, she changed the subject.

“Just wondering where you’re taking me. That’s all.”

Sebastian grinned. “You’ll see.”

Sakura didn’t like the fact that his answer was vague, but then again, she didn’t care where he was taking her. Just as long as they could be alone, she was happy.

A few minutes later, they came to the edge of the estate, and Sakura frowned because she noticed Sebastian’s sports car, the one he’d used to drive her to the hospital to see Darcy, was parked across the road from them.

She asked, “Why is your car here?”

Sebastian gave her a handsome grin. “Would you like to go for a ride?”

She cocked her head to one side, wondering what was up Sebastian’s sleeve. Had he planned for the car to be here all along?

She gave him a grin in return and said, “Sure.”

Sebastian brought out a key and clicked it to unlock. Then he opened the passenger door for her. “After you.”

Sakura slipped in, suddenly wondering where he was going to take her. She was about to ask him after he had slid into the driver’s seat when he silenced her with a gentle kiss. “You’ll see,” he said, reading her mind.

Sakura relaxed back in her seat and then put on the safety belt. A moment later, Sebastian started the engine and they were off.

It was dark, and the city lights glittered beautifully against the backdrop of the night sky, competing with the stars. It was indeed breathtakingly beautiful, and Sakura was mesmerized.

“It’s beautiful here, isn’t it?” Sebastian said.

Sakura nodded. “After what happened...” she said, her throat feeling a little dry. “After what happened, I appreciate what’s around me more.”

Sebastian reached out with his free hand and cupped her face. “Nothing like that is ever going to happen to you again. I’m here with you, and Darcy, too.” He chuckled. “In fact, all of us Princetons. We’re family.”

She smiled, appreciating his comforting words. “Thanks.”

It was a few more minutes when Sakura realized they were heading toward the hotel. Of course, she was a little confused as to why they were going there and was about to ask Sebastian as he parked the car when he intercepted her and said, “No questions.”

She shut her mouth again. God, he was rather demanding tonight, wasn’t he? She just wanted to know what was going on. Nothing wrong with that, right?

When she saw he was getting out of the car, she decided to do the same. Coming around to her side, he intimately wrapped his arm about her waist like a lover. Then he said, “Let’s go.”

She raised her brows at him. “Go where?”

He chuckled in amusement. “I see you’re a little pissed.”

“Maybe just a little,” she said as they headed toward the entrance of the hotel. “If you’re bringing me here for dinner, I’m already too full to fit anything else.”

He shook his head. “Not dinner,” he said. “Rather, I want dessert.”

“Oh.” She laughed. “Dessert. I see. Then why didn’t you say so? Although, Beth and her team did make some chocolate cake for the party.”

Sebastian shook his head. “No. Chocolate cake is nice and delicious, but there’s something else here that is much better than a mere chocolate cake. It’ll be so delicious. I swear I’ll remember it for the rest of my life.”

Sakura cocked her head to one side. “Wow! Something that amazing, eh? Then I can’t wait to try some as well.” She chuckled. “Now you’re making me excited.”

Sebastian smiled arrogantly. “I’m glad to hear that. I can promise you that you’ll remember it, too.” He hotly kissed her on the neck.

Sakura squirmed deliciously in his arms. When he moved back, she wondered why he was acting so sensual suddenly.

They were coming through the lobby now and heading toward the elevator. Sakura noticed and said, “Is it in the nineteenth-floor restaurant?”

As the door dinged open, Sebastian said, “It’s going to be on the nineteenth floor, yes.”

Sakura nodded as they stepped in with a bunch of tourists heading to their own rooms on the upper level. Sakura stayed close to Sebastian as the elevator started ascending. A few minutes later, they reached the nineteenth floor, and the couple got out. Sakura turned toward a corridor that would lead them to the restaurant, but Sebastian led her the other way.

“But the restaurant is this way,” she said.

“We’re having it privately.” His eyes glinted with mischief. “After all, why would I want to have my very delicious dessert in public? It’s going to be something I cherish for the rest of my life, and the dessert is going to be the most beautiful thing ever. I would never want to share the sight of such a delicious thing with other people.”

Sakura narrowed her eyes at his choice of words. “You’re acting very strange, Sebastian. If you want to eat the dessert in a private room, why didn’t you just say so? Although, I must admit that the table near the window in the restaurant is quite nice, too, because it has a great view of the city.” She chuckled. “Especially at this time of night, with the city lights in view. It must be amazing.”

Sebastian said, “I’m sure it is beautiful, but the room we’re going to be staying in will have an amazing view, too, so you’ll enjoy it.”

“I see,” she said.

It was then that they reached the door, and Sakura instantly realized it was the presidential suite they had used for the photo shoot.

“Oh.” She expressed. “It’s here?” She looked at Sebastian, her eyes large.

The man chuckled. “You did say you’d like to stay here, didn’t you?”

It was then that she remembered he’d overheard her agreeing with Jane that she wanted to stay here, since the place was so beautiful and luxurious.

“Here you go, madam,” he said as he opened the door for her. “Presidential suite just for you.”

Sakura couldn’t hide her smile as she walked in, her eyes large and sparkly. The suite was just as she remembered—furbished in gold and white with an antique sofa, which they had used for Sebastian’s and her photoshoot, the beautiful vase with a fresh bouquet, the mahogany table, the coffee table, and of course, the double glass doors leading out to the veranda, which had a great view of the city and the sea beyond.

Sakura stared at the double glass doors, which were wide open. She wondered if it was supposed to be like that, even when there had been no one in here. Or had the maid forgotten to close it after the preparations?

Curiously, she headed toward the door. The view of the dark ocean and the glittery lights in the city mesmerized her. Then something else caught her attention. A shadow of a man standing in the corner of the veranda. She narrowed her eyes, and then her heart raced.

She rushed over and said breathlessly, “Darcy.”

Darcy, in casual jeans and a white T-shirt, turned to her. “Hello, Sakura,” he greeted. “I’ve been waiting.”

Sakura blinked. Waiting? Then she realized Darcy had been waiting for her and Sebastian to have dessert together.

She smiled. “I see. So you came here first?”

He nodded as he came toward her. Once he was only inches from her, he cupped her face and then kissed her gently on the forehead. When he moved back, he asked, “Sebastian didn’t do anything weird to you when I wasn’t around, did he?”

She shook her head. “No.”

“Oi, what’s this?” Sebastian said, his manly body leaning against the doorframe. “Are you accusing me of something I didn’t do? I thought we had trust, Darcy.”

Darcy laughed. “Sorry. I’m just making sure you didn’t get things started before me.”

Sakura was confused as to what they were talking about, and it showed on her face. “Is there something you two should be telling me? I mean, Sebastian was speaking strangely about dessert just before, and now you’re talking about things like trust and getting things started?”

Darcy chuckled because he thought she looked so adorable with that demanding face.

He grabbed hold of her hand as he said, “It’s something between me and Sebastian.” He led her back toward the door. “Nothing for you to worry about.”

Sakura begged to differ. She thought they were acting awfully suspicious. They went through the door, passing Sebastian, who was smiling all too gleefully for her liking.

“Just between you two, eh? Now I’m even more intrigued.”

Behind them, Sebastian folded his arms across his chest as he said, “I can assure you, Sakura, it’s nothing suspicious.”

Sakura turned to look at him. Once again, she thought he had read her mind. He was getting better at it, which didn’t sit well with her.

“So? What about the dessert?” She changed the topic. “When are we having it? Have you booked room service?” She threw the questions out to the room, assuming one of them had already ordered the dessert before they came.

She continued. “I don’t want to eat sweets too late in the evening. It’s bad for my weight.” She giggled.

Darcy said, “I doubt you have problem with that. You’ve always been thin.”

Sakura had to agree with that. She seemed to never put on weight, no matter how much she ate. Of course, Beth and Ned, or rather her aunt and biological father—yes, that she still couldn’t believe and hadn’t yet gotten her head wrapped around the very idea—would claim otherwise. To them, she’d eaten very little since she had been young, which explained her slender figure.

“Not yet,” Sebastian said.

Sakura sighed. “Why not?”

“Because we haven’t gotten your permission yet.”

Sakura raised a brow. “My permission? You need my permission to order dessert?”

“Of course we do,” Darcy said. “It wouldn’t be right otherwise.” He gently grabbed hold of her hand as he guided her around to face him.

Sakura noticed the change in his manner and thought something was up. His eyes were dark and passionate. Then there was that vibe again, the determination that she had come to understand.

She licked her lips, wondering what he was about to do or say now.

Darcy said, “Sakura, remember the night you confessed to us?”

Slowly, Sakura nodded.

“You told us you either have both of us or none at all,” Sebastian said.

Sakura jumped at the sound of his voice. She hadn’t realized he was standing behind her, so close to her, in fact, that she could feel the heat of his body warming her against the coolness of the night.

She nodded again. “Yes, I did say that, and I meant it. I can’t...” She sighed, her heart now racing furiously. “I can’t live with the knowledge that I picked one of you and not the other. That I’d be living with one and not the other. That I’d be showering my love on one and not the other. I love you both. It just isn’t fair.” Her body and hands were shaking now, even her voice quivered softly under the two men’s scrutiny.

“I won’t be able to handle the guilt, the pain of not having both of you in my life. I know I’m greedy. I know... It’s weird to love two men and want both in my life... living like a family, like it’s nothing.” She blinked, tears in her eyes now. God, she was always emotional when she thought about her love for them.

“I know I don’t deserve you both, but...” She laughed brokenly, as if she found she was beyond help. “But I simply don’t care. I want you both, loving me and cherishing me and pampering me, like I never wanted anything in my life. To be honest, you two are all I’ve ever wanted so badly in my life. I know I sound like a broken radio, but that’s the truth. That’s why it’s either both or none at all. That’s my choice.

“I want you two to know that I’m greedy where you and my love for you are concerned, because up until now, until you brothers came back into my life, love was something I never had. Well, Mom Brenda and Daddy James and Beth and Ned, my father, they loved me, but there had always been this deep hollow, you know? Like something special was missing. Until you brothers came back and made a big fuss over me. I admit I didn’t like it at first, you invading my life and demanding my attention. That was annoying and...

“When that incident happened with Kate, I just didn’t want any of you in my life anymore, because it was too hard. I felt if I were to be with you again, it’d be just like when we were kids. Bad things would happen, and I just didn’t want to hurt you all. I didn’t want your family to become estranged because of me, and yes, I blamed myself for that. But then, when you brothers came once again, marching into my life and...” She took a deep breath, tears flowing down her cheeks.

Darcy wiped them away with his thumb, soothing her with his soft, gentle kiss. Sebastian, behind her, was hugging her tight, his chin resting on top of her head and his warmth enveloping her.

Sakura continued. “And wanting me back regardless of what happened, it both scared and pleased me. It made me so happy, but at the same time, though I was still afraid that if we were to be together, bad things would happen. And I was right.

“But when I nearly lost you, Darcy, I thought, Oh, my god, I can’t lose you. Not now, when I just started to understand my own feelings for you. When I wanted you in my life. When I wanted to shower you with my love. I’d die if I lost you.

“And then the thought that if I were to lose Sebastian, too. I...” She sniffed, and tears flowed down her flushed cheeks. “I don’t want it to be too late for us. I simply don’t care if bad things are going to happen to us when I’m with you both. I just want to cherish my time with you both, loving. So, yes, I’m greedy. So what? If you despise me for this I

“Shh...” Darcy planted his finger on her lips to quiet her.

God, she knew she was rambling on about her greed for them both to be in her life, but she couldn’t help herself. She’d had enough living without love, with the pain of loneliness; enough of deluding herself into thinking she was fine when she wasn’t, when in fact, she needed these brothers and their love for her.

Sebastian said, “We want you to be greedy, Sakura.”

“And who said you don’t deserve us?” Darcy said. “Rather, we’re the ones who don’t deserve you, especially after what we did to you when we were children. Yet, we’d do anything to get you, to have your heart, to make you ours.”

Sebastian nodded. “In a way, we’re greedy, too. Don’t you agree?”

Sakura listened to their words quietly, absorbing their meaning. Then something nagged at her.

Yet, we’d do anything to get you, to have your heart, to make you ours.

To make you ours?

“What do you mean?” she asked, confused, staring at Darcy.

Once again, he silenced her with a finger on her lips. “Shh...” He grinned. “You’ve made your confession. Now it’s our turn.”

“Confession? You’re going to confess?” she asked.

He nodded. “That night you confessed to us, you told us to think about it.”

At Sakura nodding, Sebastian said, “Well, we haven’t.”

Sakura blinked. “Oh? You haven’t? After all that’s happened?” She sounded rather annoyed. And here she was pouring her heart out to them, telling them of her feelings and desire. Now she felt stupid doing it, including the tears that came with it.

She muttered, “Then I’ll give you more time. Seriously, if I don’t receive an answer by the time we all leave Hawaii, I’m done with it.”

Sebastian chuckled. “And then what? Live a lonely, meaningless life without the men you love so much?”

“Stop teasing me, Sebastian,” she snapped, wiping her tears. “I’m being serious here.”

Darcy stroked her cheek with the back of his fingers as he said, “We didn’t think about it because there was no need.”

Sakura cocked her head to one side. “Why was there no need?”

Sebastian said, “Because Darcy and I had come to an agreement before you even confessed to us.”

At this revelation, she was stunned. They had come to a decision even before she had confessed? What decision was that?

Darcy nodded. “Remember the first night we arrived here and I took you away to the beach alone?”

Sakura nodded, remembering their passionate kiss at the beach and Darcy’s determination to claim her as his. She remembered him pressuring her to make a decision.

“Yes, I do,” she said.

“When you left, Sebastian and I, we talked,” Darcy said. “About us.”

“And?” She was curious to know about their discussion.

Sebastian carried on after Darcy. “We agreed upon complete trust and sharing.”

“Trust and sharing?” Sakura asked.

Darcy nodded. “Because we both want you, and it would hurt us if one of us couldn’t have you, knowing we both love you.”

Sebastian said, “So, we decided we’d trust each other. We have to lay everything out in the open if we don’t want to hurt you, if we want you in our lives.”

Sakura shook her head. “Wait, but I’m confused. What does any of that have to do with me?”

Sebastian said, “Oh, it has everything to do with you.”

Darcy said, “You see, the truth is we’ve decided to share you.”

Sebastian nodded. “It’s the only solution I could think of. And once Darcy agreed, it was a done deal.”

Sakura raised a brow at the man as she looked up at him. “A done deal? Even before I confessed?”

Darcy noted her eyes twinkling. “Yes.”

Sebastian said, “And it was fun toying with you during the photo shoot.” He glanced at Darcy. “Although, Darcy was a bit pissed.”

Sakura suddenly remembered the photo shoot with the brothers here in this hotel only last week. Yes, Sebastian had been flirty while they were posing in front of the camera in this very room. Darcy himself had been rather daring when they had their shoot in the bedroom across the hallway.

“So...” She began, trying to sort out the information she’d received so far. “You both decided to share me even before I made my confession, eh?” She stammered, “Have you any idea how much suffering you both have put me through?”

Darcy soothed her with a kiss to her lips, thus silencing her tantrum. When he moved back, he said, “We weren’t sure. We were insecure, Sakura. We didn’t want to rush you.”

Yes, that was true. She did tell them to give her time, which they kindly did.

“I know,” she said. “And now it’s all clear, then?”

Sebastian nodded. “We love you, Sakura.”

“And we want to be with you, always,” Darcy said.

Sebastian said, “There’s no more hiding your feelings. No more running away. No more keeping your burden to yourself. From now on, you will share everything with us. We’re now officially dating. You’re ours.” He chuckled. “How does it feel to have two boyfriends?”

Darcy continued. “And eventually, two fiancés and then two husbands?”

Sakura took a moment to absorb all this.

Two boyfriends, two fiancés, and eventually, two husbands.

She giggled. “It looks like I’m such a greedy girl. Two fathers, Daddy James and now Daddy Ned. Two mothers, Mom Brenda and Haruka. And now two boyfriends, Sebastian and Darcy.”

Sebastian nodded in agreement. “It can’t be bad to have two of everything.”

Darcy said, “Rather, you’re one of the luckiest girls alive.”

“When you put it that way,” Sakura said, smiling with glee, “then I guess so. It does sound like I’m one of the luckiest girls.”

It was then that Sebastian and Darcy eyed each other. At Sebastian’s nod, Darcy said, “Can we hear it once again?”

“Hear what?” Sakura asked.

“That you love us.”

Sakura giggled. She guessed they had their doubt, insecurity, and uncertainty after all. They wanted to hear her confirmation of her love for them, which didn’t surprise her. Their vulnerability only made her love them even more.

She shyly licked her lips and then said, “I love you, Sebastian.” She looked up at the man behind her.

Sebastian tightened his arms around her and then kissed her on the lips. When he drew back, he said, “I love you, too, Sakura.”

Satisfied, Sakura turned her attention to Darcy and said, “I love you, Darcy.”

Darcy smiled. He then gently cupped her face in his hand and leaned forward. He kissed her softly on the lips. When he withdrew, he said, “I love you, too, Sakura.”

Sebastian said, “Now that’s out of the way. How about our dessert?”

Truth be told, Sakura had forgotten about that. She’d been too absorbed in this love confession thing.

“Oh, that’s true. What time is it now?” she asked.

Darcy said, “Who cares about the time? This type of dessert can be served any time of day, but it’s especially excellent at night.”

Sebastian nodded. “When the air is cool and the stars are bright.”

“You both make it sound so romantic and poetic when it’s only dessert.”

Darcy said, “It’s not only dessert. It’s one of the best. The type we’ll remember for life.”

Sakura narrowed her eyes at him. “There you go again, talking strangely.”

Sebastian chuckled as he snuggled his face against the crook of her nape. “So, do we have your permission to have that dessert now?”

Sakura sighed. God, why do they have to ask for permission?

“All right, then,” she said, now feeling Sebastian’s hand moving up from her waist to her breast. “Yes, you both may have that dessert now.”

Darcy said, “No going back.”

His words and his dark, passionate eyes alerted Sakura to the fact that these two weren’t talking about real dessert, and she suddenly panicked at the thought of what they might mean.
