Roark's Bondmate: Compatibles by Hannah Davenport (16)

Chapter 9

Lara

“It looks so odd,” I gushed as we stared at the pale green and yellow planet named Jaur.  “I never really thought about planets looking so different. I mean, of course they would be, but I’d never really thought about it before.”

Admitting that aloud made me feel stupid. Mars, Jupitar, Saturn…they all looked significantly different.

“Let us meet Cami’s friends.”

“They’re coming here?”

“Yes.  They have to retrieve Zorvak and Cami.”

He took my hand and led me down the corridor, stopping in the open space near the hatch. After standing around doing nothing, I finally asked, “Umm, what are we doing?”

Zorvak stood next to Cami, who was clutching a small overnight bag.  “We are waiting for a transport to take us to the planet surface.”

“Why?”

“Jaurians are a passive, non-aggressive species, even when provoked.  They use technology, a forcefield which encircles the planet, making it impossible for anyone to land on Jaur,” Cami explained. She inhaled deeply and smiled.  “I can’t wait to see them.”

“It is almost unheard of to be invited to Jaur,” Zorvak added, “but they have agreed that the two of us may visit for the procedure.”

A few minutes passed as we stood waiting in silence.  I didn’t exactly know what we were waiting on, and then two…blobs…appeared out of thin air.

I screamed and clutched my chest.

Cami threw her arms in the air and ran for the blobs.

“Munic!” she cried, throwing her arms around him.  Releasing him, she squealed, “Oddle, I can’t believe you came too!”  and then she hugged the other blob.

Three diamond-shaped eyes blinked independently from each other.

Standing this close to yet another unknown species sent a shiver of terror down my spine—a reaction leftover from my time as a prisoner. Roark wrapped his arm around my shoulder and instantly, I felt a little better.

Just breathe, ji’si’. They are harmless.

The first blob spotted me. “What is this? Another Human?”

Cami grinned. “Yes, this is my friend Lara.”

His blatant stare made me a little self-conscious as he stepped forward.

“Tell, my Human Lara, do you also have an artificial implant?”

Standing there slack-jawed, I couldn’t speak. He really did look like an upright Jell-O blob with stick arms, something straight from my imagination.  And yet, he sounded so friendly, intelligent. His eyes blinked independently; I couldn’t speak, only stare.

“No, she doesn’t,” Cami answered for me.

The female blob stepped right in front of me, next to the other one. “You must forgive Munic, he forgets his manners.  I am Oddle, it is nice to meet you.”

“Ah…it’s nice to meet you, too,” I managed to spurt, my fear somewhat waning.

The one called Munic took his…the other ones’ stick hand.  “We cannot be gone too long, we have to get back.”

Zorvak’s gaze cut to Roark.  “We will be back in a day’s time.” His voice was stern, and he sounded like a true leader.

Roark nodded once. “I will be waiting.”

All four of them dematerialized. My head swam from information overload. Cami had acted as though she loved them, and they loved her.  The lack of space knowledge made me feel even more out of place.

“Come on, Lara.” Roark tugged on my hand, leading me back to the control room just in time to see the other small flyer disappear through the force field.

Alone with Roark again, I wanted to know everything there was to know about him. “Tell me, what’s life like on Ulaya?”

He grinned over his shoulder while tapping a few buttons. “For me, it is structured.  I train new recruits, weed out the ones not fit to be a part of the Royal Guard.  I protect Zorvak and his bond mate, keep order.”

“And that’s it?”

“That is a full day of training and guard duty.”

That sounded so…boring.

“And for fun?  What do you do for fun?”

With a grin on his face, he leaned over and cupped my face.  “I can think of a few things to do.” And then he dropped a tender kiss on my lips.

I grinned, loving the contact.  But that’s not what I meant. “I mean, before me.  What did you do for fun?”

A picture of a woman popped into my head, and I knew it projected from him. It was just a quick flash, but jealousy flared its ugly head and I extracted myself from his arms.  Stupid, I know.  Roark reminded me of a well-built, sexy gladiator—I froze.  When did I stop noticing the red color? And now I thought of him as sexy! Sneaking a peak from the corner of my eye, he was extremely handsome with strong features. Since it was before he met me, I wouldn’t ask who she was; it was none of my business.  By the look on his face, he knew and instantly started trying to smooth things over.

I held up my hand as he started to speak. “No need to explain Roark, I hadn’t even met you yet.”

I shot him a pleasant, reassuring smile.

If he knew everything I had done, if I had to answer for my actions, we would be in a fight for the rest of the year.  Knowing how he could practically read my mind, I didn’t dwell on that too long.

But nothing to do for fun?  That seemed a little mundane at best.  At least Earth had nice restaurants to dine at, places to go dancing. We had a lot of indoor activities.

“Do the women work?” I asked.

“Not normally, no.”

Another strike against Ulaya.  I’ve always prided my work ethic, the things I’ve accomplished.  Just to sit home and be…hmm…be what?  What could I do?

And then it hit me. Wide-eyed, I spun around in my chair and faced him. “Do you expect me to stay at home and have babies?  Because that is so not happening!”

And was it even possible to have alien babies?

Oh, heavens, how did I go from asking about his planet to alien babies?  And then I tried to picture them in my head.  Little tiny toddlers running around with red skin and blonde hair.  Or pale skin and solid ebony eyes.  The kid would look demonic.  I think I preferred red skin and blue eyes.

Roark grabbed my hands.  “Lara, you have to stop!”

My eyes cut to his. When I saw the almost panicked look on his face, I let out a bubbling, almost hysterical laugh.  At first, I thought his eyes were just black, but looking closely, I saw the turmoil, a cloudy storm brewing.

“But our babies!” I protested.

Shit!  Did I just suggest that I want to have Roark’s baby?  I’ve only known him a day—a freaking day!  And I just suggested that we have babies. Oh, God!

I started hyperventilating.

“If—and I emphasize the word if—if we can have young, they will be beautiful. But you need to stop with that over-expressive mind of yours.”

“I need a drink!” Leaning back, I rubbed my forehead. How could I imply that I wanted to marry Roark, have his baby?

Roark eyed me wearily, probably overwhelmed and second guessing his decision to get involved with a half-crazed lunatic. “I can get you a drink.”

Wild eyes shot to his as I asked, “Something with alcohol in it?” Now that would be awesome!

“Alcohol?”

“A strong drink that relaxes your body and mind.” I certainly needed something to shut down this over-active imagination.

“Ahh…” his eyes danced with mischievousness and he scooted back and stood. “I will be right back.”

Hopefully he had something that worked on Humans.  I’d always considered myself a strong, independent woman, but sometimes life got a little overwhelming.  Having a good stiff drink didn’t make me weak, it made me normal.

Not long after, Roark sauntered down the corridor carrying a metal cup. Handing it to me, he said, “I hope you like it.  It is a little strong but occasionally, Zorvak and I will enjoy a cup at night.”

I sniffed the light brown liquid but couldn’t detect any distinct odors, so I held little hope that it would have an effect on me.

Taking a drink, the liquid burned all the way down.  I coughed and sputtered, my eyes watering, and I had to blink the tears away.

“Are you alright, Lara?” Roark knelt down to eye level.

“Yeah.” I beat my chest with my fist.  “It’s just a little stronger than I expected.”  And then I took another, smaller sip. “That’s much better.  Thanks.”

It didn’t take long until I felt the dizzy effects and my entire body relaxed.

Roark took the chair next to mine, watching me with a curious look on his face.  I wish I could discern those looks, know exactly what they meant.

“So, Lara, tell me about Earth.  What was it like, what did you do for fun?” he asked.

I took a few more sips; now I had a good buzz going which meant I would talk openly, without a filter.  “Earth sucked most days.  Do you know what I wanted?”  He shook his head.  “I wanted to lay outside in a bathing suit and soak up the sun.  Could I do that?  Nope.  The selfish people of Earth destroyed the atmosphere, and nobody could be outside without wearing a particulate mask.”

“You could not go outside?” he asked incredulously. Clearly, Cami had never told him about Earth, and assuming Zorvak knew the history, neither had he.

“Nope.  Well, some people do, but they risk permanent damage to their lungs.  So there was really no use.  And all the plants turned a sick yellow.  They were really sad to look at.  But there were always a ton of indoor activities. I love to go dancing, but I could never talk Cami into going with me.  She was a prude, with a dried up vajaja.  Thankfully, Zorvak seems to have fixed her.”

“And what about you?  Did you have family?” he asked.

“Nope. My mom passed away, and who knows where my dead-beat dad is. It’s just me, myself, and I to keep me company.”

Okay, maybe this drink was stronger than I was used to.  That and the fact that it had been decades since I’d had a drink, or so it seemed.  But right now, Roark looked so handsome and I wanted nothing more than to jump his bones. That’s an indoor activity I could really enjoy.

Standing up, I threw a leg over his knees and straddled his lap.

“What are you…” he began.

In an aggressive move, I cupped his cheeks and went in for the kiss, letting our tongues do the tango. He didn’t hesitate as he kissed me back with soft, yet assertive lips.  I refused to give him complete control as my hips arched back and forth, rubbing against him, dancing to a rhythm in my head.

What are you doing ji’si?

Whatever I want. Stop being so sensitive.

His arms circled my waist, and then he grabbed the hem of my shirt, tore it off and threw it in the corner.

Staring at my bare breasts, he asked, Are you sure, ji’si’?

I tilted my head between my shoulders, giving him access.  He lightly bit my nipple before sucking the tip into his mouth.  “Oh, heavens, yes!” My hips still moved to an imaginary beat, rubbing against his hard cock.

After ravishing one breast, he moved to the other, alternating between licking, sucking, and nipping.

Part of me knew my lack of inhibitions was alcohol related; another part of me knew that I desperately wanted this. The alcohol just helped me let go.

My fingers started digging at his zipper.  I wanted—scratch that—I needed to see him.  Last night, it was dark, and Roark was gentle.  Now, I wanted wild.

He knocked my hand away and set me momentarily off his lap.  When he stood to strip out of his clothes, I shucked off my pants and climbed back on top.

Dripping wet, I was ready.

“No,” he said, whisking me up in his arms.  My legs went around his waist, still rubbing against him, wanting him inside me.

NOW!

Instead of carting me off to the bed, he stretched me out on the floor.  Cold metal cooled my skin, but I was still burning for Roark.

I need you! I arched my back, trying to entice him to give me what I wanted.

Too bad! I want to see you!

Roark sat on his knees between my parted legs.  His hard cock would make any guy (or gal) proud. I wanted to touch it, taste it, and just as I thought to reach up to do so, Roark ran a finger along my slit.

Desire exploded and I arched my back, needing more.  Using his finger, he obliged.

Oh, heavens Roark!  That feels so…  and then he switched to his tongue and tasted me.  My hands tangled in his hair, pressing him closer, needing more.

Where is your sensitive area?

My chest heaved, my body overwhelmed with immense pleasure, but I finally managed to say, Up, at the top of the opening.

On the outside?

Yesssss!!!

Instead of waiting for him to stumble upon the right spot, I snaked my hand between the two of us and rubbed tight circles.  When I glanced down, Roark was staring at my hand before he knocked it away.

The moment his tongue lapped at my clit, I screamed, the sound echoing on the metal walls.  My hips bucked as my body shuddered in hard spasms.

Instead of taking me on the hard metal floor, he scooped me up and took a seat back in the pilot’s chair.  This time when I straddled him, I took his large cock inside my body.

Don’t be gentle.

So you wish for me to fuck you this time?

Oh! I love it when you talk dirty!

His hands circled my waist, holding me up enough to thrust at a steady, hard pace.  As I was about to come again, something entered my nether region.

“Oooo!!!!” I squealed in both pleasure and pain.  If felt like two men taking me at the same time, even though it was only Roark.

I felt his hot release coat my insides.  Spent, my head dropped to his shoulder, our heavy breathing the only sound in the control room.

A moment later, I slipped off his lap.  “What was that other…?”  I didn’t know how to ask if he had two cocks, but it sure felt that way.  And then I thought of a tail that uncoiled…

“Stop!” he laughed, shaking his head.  “Stop thinking and I will show you.”

A small slit opened just below the base of his cock and a smaller, thinner one slithered out like a snake. I had thought he looked too Human and something else must be different.  And here was my proof.  The second penis and of course, the red skin.

“It is called a Ha’us.

“Well,” I said, still staring in disbelief, “That will take a little getting used to.”

He snaked his arm around my waist, jerked me close and whispered, “Oh, I think you liked it just fine.”

I chuckled a little, and then he started kissing my neck, his fingers lightly pinching my nipple, and instantly, I wanted him again. This time, he picked me up and carted me off to bed.
